Controller acts on it's own?

Hello all - question to see if anyone knows why this is happening:

 

Often, when I play this game, my right and left triggers will activate themselves. What I mean is, I will be running and suddenly a grenade will be thrown without me pressing R1 or L1. This is not 'I accidentally' pressed it, I was nowhere near it.

 

At first, I thought this was my controller, but I have played other games without this being an issue and since gotten a second controller and both do this. Any thoughts?

That happened to me on one of my old controllers... Have you tried just changed the controls for the grenades to a different button? That might work and fix the issue.

I read something about the L/R2 triggers being oversensitive on some DS4s or in some games, but haven't heard anything about oversensitive L/R1 buttons before.

 

I thought they were digital anyway, they're either pressed or not pressed (as opposed to the L/R2 triggers, which are analogue and can detect degrees of squeeze).

The touchpad of the ps4 controller has fast actions for the STAR cards, you can take this option away from controller settings

Go to the menu, controller settings, and turn off "Touch Pad Gestures." That's how I fixed mine. You might not notice your thumb hit the touch pad in the middle, but the controller recognizes that as a swipe, and then it'll activate your cards.
