Simpson Spin off idea

So my cable company has made it so i can watch ANY Simpsons episode for free until the end of the year. Early this morning i watched all the episodes where the Simpsons are older and in doing so my brain came up with a idea.

 

What if they did a spin off show about that?

I mean they sorta established a few things already when it comes to the older simpsons.

 

Bart is divoced, has 2 sons and lives in the old school
Lisa is married to millhouse and she hates it, has a unruly daughter
Maggie is a famouse guitarist
Marge and Homer are the same


i mean theres real potential i think. it would allow for fresh ideas and such

This would be a pretty interesting concept, however with all the Simpsons episodes and seasons I think it could take a breather for a while.

A permanent breather, 27 years is a good run. It's to the point that they need to start saying "Simpsons did it!" in their own episodes.

Whenever I saw those episodes, I always thought it would be a nice change to age the characters and continue those little stories. I lost interest in the show when they started to retcon older episodes to get people to stop with the "Why don't the characters age?" whining/complaint they always got. All they had to say was "Because they're cartoon characters.", but nah, it was better to just keep changing the year the characters were born instead. Granted that that did give them new stories to tell since they ran out of ideas long ago.

This is how old I am...

I remember when the Simpsons was just a short skit on the Tracy Ulman show. I used to watch her show in anticipation of the skit too. Ahhh...those were the days.
