Getting to the challenge

Hi all, need some advice, and yes before anyone says it i know i'm an idiot, but i didn't fully activate the yellow box at top of the mountain so i can't do the puzzle to open the secret door at the bottom of the mountain leading the challenge rooms, can i just go back through the mountain to the top to activate it or do i have to do the end game all over again?

Load your latest save, should be in the elevator. Get out of it, then backtrack to the top of the mountain and activate the challenge.

Additionally, if you're having difficultly figuring out how to exit the elevator (as I did), look down - the panels to open the elevator doors are at the very bottom of the doors. This confused me for much longer than it should have, probably because the panels to close the doors were at the top, not the bottom. Maybe that was just me being an idiot, though.

Haha, i rode the elevator four bloody times trying to look down, before i saw the panels at the bottom of the door and you use them before you fly off!!

I think the panels on the bottom of the elevator was the hardest part of the game ?  Took me a while before I figured out how to look down
