Does anyone know what colouration is needed and is it just random or do I need to do something?

 

Have been breeding dogs for a while but only seem to get the same four different colours.

Thanks, I had just been breeding 1st and 2nd, thanks for the tip on meat as getting it normally was a bit annoying.

Hey, necroing this thread. 

 

I've read the guide and wonder if it's really necessary to breed a couple of 2nd generations to get 3rth generation puppies. 

Will it not work if I breed 1 first with 1 second generation to get 1 third generation puppy?

Quick tips:

When a pet eats it gains 2% happiness.
So 50 pieces of meat = 100% happiness.
Petting also gives 2% happiness and only increases when your character giggles.

Meaning you need 400 pieces of meat if you only feed the pets.
It is highly recommended you pet them a bunch after feeding them to boost happiness.
