The missions you dread...

Having played through the game a few games, there's a number of missions that I see coming a mile away and that I've hated every single playthrough. GTAIV is by no means a really difficult game, but some missions will take me upward of 4 to 5 tries no matter how well I know it or how good I am at the game.

My most hated mission at the moment is Snow Storm.

Before I realized that you could take taxi's everywhere you go (saving probably 10-30 minutes per mission), this mission was awful. It took me one and half full playthroughs of GTA to realize the taxi's were useful, by the way. The drive to get there takes probably 20 minutes every time I died, which was upwards of 10 times. Getting into the abandoned building is pretty easy, but once the cops are on you it's pretty much either make the futile attempt to shoot your way out or bolt out and cross your fingers you can get into a car before dying. The first time I beat the mission I think I actually somehow managed to swim to freedom lol... which tells you just how out of good ideas I was.

Even though the mission doesn't seem as daunting now since the taxi's save me oodles of time each attempt, I still dread it every time I play through the game.

Anyways, all the GTA4 fans out there, any missions you dread? Or simply hate?

I have only played through the game 1 complete time so far and that mission is the one I would choose as well. :shakefist:

What! Are you kidding me The Snow Storm has to be one of my favourite missions, all you need to remember is to take cover often and only pop out to shot when you know your going to hit.

I don't really know any missions execpt the last one where every fucking time I kept getting hit by the rockets fired from the helicopter, I mean first time I played it I did it first time, come back to collect trophies took me more than 10 times.

The last time I played the game I had some trouble with the final mission of the deal ending, where I wasn't able to get onto the chopper at the end fast enough and it would sort of hit the water then fly away making me fail the mission. And then of course I'd have to redo all the shootouts outside and inside the abandoned casino to get another chance at it. It made me very grateful for how checkpoint friendly GTA V was.

Weird tip for Snow Storm though that I found out on one of my playthroughs, once you get the drugs and need to get out if you go into the very back room opposite where the cops are coming in there's a sort of round wooden thing you can stand on from which you can jump up and grab a narrow wooden beam, and if you position yourself just right you can jump to one of the open windows of the second floor and hop right out without having to deal with the cops inside. It can be a bit fiddly to pull off and you still need to deal with the outside cops and getting a vehicle to escape but it's useful if you're getting torn apart in the buildings close quarters.

Just started playing the game I think I've done 15 missions or so. So far it's been fairly smooth sailing. I'm not a big fan on the driving. I can't put my finger on it but something just feels...off. It's like the cars are a little slow and don't seem to skid. Maybe I just suck at driving but I don't dare to go top speeds in small/busy areas of town.  I played for a few hours and I think I have just gotten used to it and adjusted a bit.

So I can see any car chase or drive by missions giving me grief.
