Step 4: Launch Mass effect 1 and go and check your in game trophies to confirm you have none.

Step 5: Exit to launcher and relaunch Mass Effect 1 and go to trophies to confirm you now have all your Trophies again (weird I know).

can someone tell me what i am doing wrong? in my case, not all trophies in extra menu are unlocked, after i delete the profile saves.

They All should be unlocked right? Including insanity 2/3?

Does anyone know a reliable way to downgrade the digital version of this game on PS5?

Also wondering about this.

From my experience attempting to downgrade the digital Binding of Isaac (PS4 version) to 1.0 on the PS5, this cannot be done. In other words, you cannot downgrade any digital games, PS4/PS5 version, to their base version (1.0) on the PS5. This is due to the PS5 working with save game files differently from how the PS4 handles them. I tested two methods using PSX download helper and the Node.js script.

However, do not despair. Using another method, which is slightly more tricky, you can downgrade to a previous patch on the PS5. I just checked ORBIS Patches (library of archived patches for many, many games) Mass Effect Legendary Edition has patches 1.01, 1.02 (this is the one you want), and 1.03 for both EU and US. The software you need for this is called Charles Proxy. Rather than shutting out the update patch completely compared to the aforementioned methods, this method redirects the update download to the patch of your choosing. So it's getting "updated" but not to the recent patch. The only issue is that Charles has a month's trial, haven't used it since so not sure if it'll charge me.

@Blasphemous_Bish

Did you get the downgrade to work on ps5?

I remeber ive done with other games, but for some reason the mapping in Charles does not work for me. It keeps reinstalling 1.03

Edit:

Got it to work, i think i was using the wrong path.

This is the new path if anyone ends up needing it.

Just in the process of downloading the 1.02 patch on PS5, many thanks to your path (saved me a fair amount of time having to re-understand Charles again).

If it's any help, I'll list my roadmap and links to cheeses to make your Mass effect 1-3 journey fit into a snug 1-playthrough:

  1. Play Mass Effect 1 on any difficulty (easy/normal difficulty) going for platinum/100%.
  2. When you're near the final boss battle see this post to trick the game into thinking you did the entire game on insanity.
  3. Follow the OP's guide to knab Insanity trophies for ME2 & 3. (I'll probably do Paramour legit)
  4. Download latest patch and play ME2 & ME3 on any difficulty going for a platinum/100% with no stress for any extra playthroughs*.

*: Haven't looked for any missable trophies, from my experience playing the original trilogy, I believe there is, especially ME1 which was a massive ballache. So check this before going all guns blazing.

Edit: I can confirm that this works on patch 1.02 on the PS5. Game was downgraded using Charles. Furthermore, I combined this with the ME1 insanity cheese glitch (play the entire game on casual and change difficulty at the final fight to insanity to pop relevant trophy) to pop all 3 ME insanity trophies.

Just got it working on PS5 with Charles. Big thanks for figuring this out @Blasphemous_Bish and @Lindhojj!

For future reference here is a little help how to set this up on PS5:

  1. First, make sure to delete the game on your PS5 (only the game, not the save data)
  2. Follow Husky's guide for Step 1-6 (adapt from PS4 to PS5):
  3. Select "Tools" -> "Map Remote..." -> "Add" (step 10 of Husky's guide shows an example of what the pop-up should look like)
  4. Fill it as follows (the path depends on your region, EU or NA):
    • Map From:
      • Protocol: http
      • Host: gs2.ww.prod.dl.playstation.net
      • Port: 80
      • Path (EU):
        /gs2/ppkgo/prod/CUSA19515_00/3/f_3acc35644744ca87f643d1a06de41564155c291fc71a4850401defde3ac89b41/f/EP0006-CUSA19515_00-METR000000000000-A0103-V0100.json

      • Path (NA):
        /gs2/ppkgo/prod/CUSA19500_00/4/f_6105da5e01a9ec37741cd4a217400f7a792e9465934cda13f8223e8c6308689a/f/UP0006-CUSA19500_00-METR000000000000-A0103-V0100.json

    • Map To:
      • Protocol: http
      • Host: gs2.ww.prod.dl.playstation.net
      • Port: 80
      • Path (EU):
        /gs2/ppkgo/prod/CUSA19515_00/2/f_df53c5822f4cc817ad3f79ada77289ba1d94a85c9dd0d9556f15f85475a5ce73/f/EP0006-CUSA19515_00-METR000000000000-A0102-V0100.json

      • Path (NA):

  5. Click "Ok" and again "Ok" (Note: If you have scaling active for your monitor(s) the "Ok" button might not show up. Try moving the window to another monitor or deactivating scaling)
  6. Start to download the game to your PS5
  7. Select the game in the home menu, hit the "Options" button -> "Information" (or "Update History") and make sure it shows "Version 1.02"
  8. Now you are ready to play the game

Note: Charles only runs for 30 minutes, so your download might be paused at some point. ME1 should download first though, so this should work. If you have to restart Charles, your PS5 might also queue an update for 1.03, which you should delete.

Also, ME1 might take a minute to start, as it couldn't connect to EA's servers in my case.

Edit: If you set up everything correctly, but the PS5 still downloads the 1.03, and Charles also shows the 1.03 files being downloaded, try the following (found by @Baba_Yaga102)

  1. Click the brush to clear the session and remove all links on the left
  2. Under "Tools" ->  "Map Remote..." delete all records and add just the one from this post
  3. Remove port 80 and add '*' at the end of the path in both sections
  4. The PS5 shows the error "Something went wrong"
  5. Delete the '*' and add port 80 again

I followed the steps outlined and ended up with version 1.03, trying several times. Then I tried the workaround, but the "Something went wrong" error never showed up and still showing version 1.03 after the next step.  Ended up removing the map remote and adding the details again and it worked!
