Popular Post VersusCA Posted April 28 Popular Post Share Posted April 28 I haven't actually finished more games, and will lose a game with the update today, but I did put a bit of time into optimising my lists which will give me more badges in the long-run, as well as a slightly easier path to the finish line! My goal was to qualify for Grandmaster + Catch 'em All on all of my non-Minesweeper lists and I found a path to doing just that. This week I haven't had that much time playing but have mostly been working on NBA 2k24. The grind is longer and more annoying than I was expecting - the list is mostly different from PS4 so even though I did that version already, this is a new experience. So it will be probably another week before I finish. I've also been "playing" Caravan Stories. I'm about 60% done. It's definitely a 100+ hour grind but I've spent easily less than an hour actually playing it lol. What a remarkable "game" this is! I just set it up on my second console and let it run throughout the day, then turn it off for a few hours at a time to rest. It's free to play, and therefore incredibly microtransaction heavy, so I don't think I would enjoy it much anyway. In an hour or two I will have the platinum for Battlefront Remastered PS5. Writing the guide was an enjoyable experience but the list was so uninspired, definitely disappointing compared to the Tomb Raider remasters. Going to need a huge month of May to get back in front of @Shyjun who is currently killing me! I won't be doing as much guide writing so that should help, at a minimum I think I need to aim for around 45 games completed in total with the goal of finishing up the challenge late in June. I do think this game deserves a 10/10 strictly for the trials / mission mode 1-7 for all characters is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. I think it was definitely a good move to take this game as a 10/10 as the difficulty is a little overrated and it wasn't too long or annoying to finish. I probably couldn't have found a 9/10 difficulty game using only PSNP ratings that would've made Vanquish better to use on list 3 instead of 5. I also am about 1 hour away from finishing up Caravan Stories. A fully AFK grind was such a huge help for my chances at getting every badge, don't think I could've managed "Grinder" without it as I am just not into games that are over ~40h in length generally. I think it has actually been delisted with servers closing on another console, so I'm glad to have it out of the way. I'm just counting it as done now because I'm not claiming a completed list anyways, and probably won't have time for a post later tonight. I'm now up to 39/50 completed games. Looking ahead I'll probably start working on Doom 3 while finishing up NBA 2k24 PS5, and squeezing in Final Fantasy for a quick completion in the near future. At the time of writing, I have a healthy 90/110 trophies. As far as the base game trophies are concerned, I'm 4 trophies off the platinum trophy, New Game +, Blunt Trauma for performing every takedown in the game, locking up the Riddler (collectibles) and Knightfall Protocol. I'm happy with the progress I'm making despite being a third of the way through the year, however I cannot rest on my laurels since there are still some difficult challenges ahead. My goal for the month will be to hopefully wrap up Batman Arkham Knight to the point where the platinum trophy is secured and return to Resident Evil 4 Remake. At the very least I want to complete my speed run playthrough but we'll see how I get on. I always like to plan this event in advanced for subsequent years and my list for next year is going to be a doozy, since there's a lot of games I'm excited to play during next years event. With this completion I've got every trophy in the Dark Souls series The level and enemy design is just phenomenal. I beat this back in 2016 when it first came out, but I'd recently platinum'd Bloodborne and wanted a break from the difficulty. Well, fast forward 8 years and I was ready to tackle it. Things went surprisingly smooth since I was able to just load my save and pick up from where I left off with all the fast travel points and all that. The covenant item grinding was atrocious, like by far the worst part and way worse than the other Dark Souls games for some reason, but the trophies themselves overall were great. 15/50 games complete. Next up is Final Fantasy IV Pixel Remaster I'm approaching #300 and I want that to be one of the MGS games so I'll have to think about the order I wanna play games for a bit and decide on a roadmap to #300. A significant number of updates below since I haven't had any updates in a while. If I am being honest I did not really enjoy Final Fantasy 9. I Think this is largely due to the fact I was playing with a guide the whole time to handle the numerous playthrough spanning missables. This was probably a terrible idea but I personally didn't want to complete an additional blind playthrough on top of the 2 already required for the platinum. My lost trophy was somehow not 10,000 kills but rather Quina's ultimate weapon since in game time wasn't passing while I had my auto-clicker running for overnight grinding. Surgeon simulator on the other hand was a frustrating mess. I ended up using the glitch on version 1.0 to minimize the number of operations I had to earn an A++ rank on. The controls for this game aren't that bad with time, but the eye surgery is one of the worst experiences I have ever had in a game. There are so many ways that Bob can ruin your attempt while trying to extract the eyes. I did most of Surgeon Sim in February and finished it up today after cleaning up Final Fantasy 9. This leaves just Assetto Corsa for list 1. As of writing I have completed 12 of the 35 hotlaps, the last remaining difficult part of Assetto Corsa. I am going to try and chip away on these laps as I work on the long grinds for list 2. The Ultimate Chicken Horse guide has been published. I was not expecting it take as long as it did. I wrote multiple section and then completely redid them multiple times. I stand by opinion that this is an excellent party game that I hope more people get to enjoy. PC Building Simulator is about half done as I am at level 20 with about $650,000. I decided to downpatch this game to 1.0 so I could make use of the PC Bay glitch. In this game you need to reach $1,000,000. In each job you can make a profit of about $300-$500 depending on labor and shipping costs. With the PC Bay glitch I can save an incredible amount of time by getting an extra 2-3 thousand dollars per job. I genuinely cannot imagine grinding to $1,000,000 without it. Jurrasic World Evolution is close to completion for whenever I complete PC Building sim. I have completed the main 5 islands and just need to 5 star the dlc campaigns to fill out the database. Final Fantasy 14 is "almost" done. The crafting grinds are done and I am left with mostly fates and leves. The Yo Kai watch event has been a great way to grind fates while doing something else. I have obtained all 13 weapons available on the free trial and completed about 450 fates along the way. This leaves me with about 500 fates left to complete. Guildleves will take until August at the earliest so I am in no rush to complete the fates. I will probably grind fates in Outer Noscae while the blue mages are running around making grinding fates easier. Aside from those 2 large grinds most of what is left is the gathering trophies. Fisher especially is going to take a long time but should be manageable. I started up Kickbeat again a while back. Honestly this might be the hardest game on the list in the end. I have owned this game for a while but got turned away by the difficulty when I first started. I recently played through the story on normal difficulty and after the first 2 songs the game kinda clicked and wasn't all that bad. Moving on to hard and realizing that master removes the white attack indicator (hard to explain just watch footage) made me realize that every part of this trophy list is going to torturous. It definitely doesn't help that quite a few of the songs are hard to get a feel for the beat on as just don't listen to this kind of music all that often. Final update is I have been working through star labs in Injustice. I have around 450 stars as of writing. This is up there with surgeon sim for being an incredibly frustrating experience. Yeah, even if I did the Hail to the King trophy on a second playthrough(since I'd just do it in the beginning with Vivi), the Ultimate Sword trophy is a no-go for me due to having to go through the entire game in under 12 hours, and having played the original on PS1, I know how brutal that is. Loved it as it's essentially a combination of my two favourite hobbies 😄 I also found it much easier than the 9/10 difficulty in the guide (playing guitar for over a decade helps in that sense!) but hey, I'm not one to complain. Take some Sekiro, mix it with Nier:Automata and garnish it with FF16 I really enjoyed playing the game. I neither understood nor followed the whole debate about this game. Popular Post Scoooty101 Posted May 7 Popular Post Share Posted May 7 Alright I finally knocked out Pathfinder WOTR 10/10. It's an amazing game I love that influence the mythic paths have on the story and your abilities. The companions are fantastic and have traits that make them very interesting. The setting brings to life the struggle as you feel desperate for half the game and every win feels like a huge accomplishment (especially on unfair) It's also the hardest platinum I have, it has a trio of trophies that can cause major headaches to get. Completing the game on Unfair is brutal, you can cheese aspects of it with use of stealth particularly 2 levels in WOTV (to go invisible) but it will still be a struggle. Sadistic game design trophy while easier in difficulty requires awareness of what enemies count as requirements, making sure you're not over resting and plays on you triple checking as you can easily miss an encounter from a missed check. Ascension is chill in comparison but you have to ensure the right decisions, tackle the final boss at a set time and have your MC pass multiple checks (I had to reload and rebuild my character to hit the checks after lowering the difficulty). I'm not sure but I'll probably do the ps4 version down the line would that also count as far as the challenge.
