Kuro no Kiseki/Trails through Daybreak III? Actually, it'll be Kai no Kiseki: Farewell, O Zemuria. This is coming to Japan as Falcom's 2024 release. Kai's story will involve the state of Ored, Calvard's northern neighbor. Campanella and Walter "the Direwolf" Kron will be among its returning characters.

Being the 20th anniversary title for Kiseki, it's supposed to give a dramatic turn to the series' storyline. It sounds as if Kai will be to Daybreak what Reverie is to Cold Steel. Especially with the "factions from various lands" bit.

Spoiler

"In the year 120X, everything will end."

The demise of the Zemuria continent was predicted by C. Epstein, the father of the Orbal Revolution.

As the "X Day" draws near, an orbal rocket is about to be launched from a gigantic base built in the lands of Kunlun.

"Can people find their way to outside the atmosphere?"
"What exists at the end of the continent?"
"Can humanity know the truth behind the 'world'?"

While the world watches over the massive undertaking made since the dawn of history, factions from various lands—starting with the Spriggan man—seem to gather at a certain place in the autonomous state Ored, which is also said to have a technological singularity.

Will the single-line trail heading towards the faraway sky really become the future of Zemuria, or...?

And people said Falcom was gonna take 2024 off.

I never believed them. Every September means a new Falcom title. I'd almost put money on 9/2025 being Ys XI, if this turns out to be the closer for Calvard's arc.

Where else can they go from here? There's still Leman, Principality of Remiferia, some restricted area under Septian Church control, and North Ambria. I still have a tough time buying the idea of this being the end of the Zemurian continent.

That'd be the good side of it if they took a year off.

If only Falcom and NISA would work side-by-side from day one. Then the western release could be a matter of weeks or at most 2-3 months. It seems that it's 1- 1 1/2 years or so for Ys, and 2 for Trails/Kiseki (well until now... Reverie verged on 3 years, and we're looking at 2.75 for TTD 1, if Mid 2024 means June).

At this rate we probably won't see TTD 2 until '25 and Kai no Kiseki until '26.

I wish XSEED didn't pass up Crossbell back when it was just coming to PSP... then there could've been a localisation ready to drop in for the PS4/PC versions.

Van, Agnes, Bernard, and Judith are confirmed to return. Kai adds some new systems- the Awakening and B.L.T.Z. (blitz).

In field battles, Awakening allows you to take some of a character's Boost gauge to temporarily power up. When Awakened, Van turns into his Grendel form.

If you use normal attacks, crafts, or arts after the Blitz bonus in command battles, then B.L.T.Z. kicks in. You can use the Chain for a follow up attack from a partner, or Support to get increased power of arts/crafts. Support can also enhance healing/aid moves and item effects.
