savageamusement
I have not seen a whole lot of French cinema but Rififi was an amazing film also Irreversible, although a very tough experience to watch, it was a phenomenally made movie - truly unique. Auto-Tomato
Surprised no-one has mentioned Delicatessen or City of Lost Children as yet. Taxi movies were great fun, and Subway, Betty Blue, The Beat that my Heart Skipped, I would say Repulsion, no love for Polanski but plenty for Deneuve. Les Revenants & Spiral were great, TV shows I know...shoot me!
DrasticAutomatic
Can you guys help me? Many years ago I saw a french thriller/mystery about a primary/elamentary school teacher who solves a murder mystery. I don't remember much else, other than that the film was French and was set in a small village. Have been looking for this film for YEARS :/

Sawyer-Ford34
Well, as a French guy, I'm glad that so many people are interested in French cinema. We have true great films. But the most recent films are not the best in my opinion even though Intouchables is amazing. Let's delve into the past! My favourite films (some are really old but they're worth a viewing):
