I know, I could of merge both threads together.

From NeoGAF:

Switch Japan 1st week sales 313,700
Wii U: 308,600
Wii: 371,900
PS4: 322,100

Note: Switch launch outside Xmas season

It's a bit weird how the switch barely outpaces the Wii U numbers but fails to reach the PS4 opening numbers. Anyway, decent numbers all round and I hope that continues into new week (some how).

Thanks to Obliterator for the source and findings.

EDIT: Famitsu is reporting 333,000 thousand sold not 3134,000. Well done, Nintendo.

Thanks to SnowxSakura and Eyjabria for the correction.

I'm pretty surprised it didn't overcome PS4 numbers.

PS4 sucked (still does :awesome:) at launch in and for Japan. On the other hand, Switch is Ninty + handheld, what usually sells the most in Japan but PS4 still had better launch (sure, not that much but still)...?

That isn't that positive despite quality numbers. On the other hand, it's still Zelda-only console so... we have to wait.

Damn... that's seriously less than I thought... xD I actually trusted XBone to sell at least 50k.

Oh, and even with the starter week Wii U had, it still hasn't sold more than the Vita AFAIK.

Media Create sales numbers are now out. Switch is doing pretty well at launch. I hope it keeps the momentum to attract lots of studios to develop quality titles for the platform.

I'm seriously puzzled why Switch could sell 300k while Zelda only 200k.

There's 100k people that actually bought Switch without Zelda? Impassiburu =D

Thank you for the heads up, I'll update the thread now.

No X1 numbers?

No, because if you clicked on the link, you would have seen that Ob didn't post XB1 launch numbers.

Add-on: Even the tweet Ob got the data from didn't have the XB1 launch numbers.

I wouldn't be surprised if the remaining 100K people brought it on the e-shop.

Well, not everyone is interested in Zelda (or prefers a digital version). Also Japan got some other launch games that aren't available in other regions yet.
