Yes, I get platinum.

Keep in mind though that the platinum requires two play-throughs of the main story. The second one with the pair-matching game instead of the hidden object puzzles (press d-pad down in easy mode on a hidden object puzzles to switch to the pair-matching game).

 

There's also a trophy that you might not get by just following a guide. That's finishing a hidden object puzzle under a minute. It takes a while before they start popping up and what items you have to find is random every time. What I did was quit the game at one of the puzzles, then start the puzzle, memorize where everything is, quit out via XMB for good measure, and repeat that a few times. Once I knew where everything was, I did the puzzle to get the trophy.
