So laggy it's basically unplayable

I recently picked up Sonic Generations from one of the Humble Bundles as I imagine a few of you did. Is anyone else getting stupidly low framerate? For a game like this, playing at <15 fps is unbearable.

I'm currently playing it on the PS3 and although the game has stuttered a few times mid level it has never been as low as 15fps.

I cant recall it being laggy on ps3 - having read this I'm keen to go back to it, was one of the games that fell by the wayside with the sheer number of games I had to play at that time.

That only happened to me a few times, but it doesn't make the game unplayable...

The most notable frame drops I remember is when the truck appear in City Escape and when you break the bridge on Green Hill.

Corrupted files in the ps3 os can cause games to be unresponsive and other issues, when was the last time you rebuilt the database or restored the file system?

It might be that, I don't think I've ever done any restoration and there's been a fair few times I've accidentally unplugged it while it was on. A few freezes here and there too. I'm going to try installing it on my other PS3, hopefully that helps.

I never had any problems playing this. No framerate drops or anything. My copy was physical.

I have the physical version, UK disc.
