KoA - Platinum Speedrun 16 hours only, OP, Maps and more

Hi every1, I'm currently going through this sort of optimising a Platinum Speedrun around newcomers (so some speed is lost). Videos here as I do them plus some linked maps I've put together that you won't find anywhere else (I needed to make for routing aid).

 

I'm learning a bit, getiing overpowered and making gold mega early (before Ysa and level 8) as well as some unknown trophy tips to make some much easier. All is in the vidoes and Maps, if any questions, anything regarding my guides/maps or just a general question about the game, fire away and I'll try and answer!!

I've not labelled the icons and gave legends and such as I put them together for myself and don't need them, but they are still VERY helpful as they are you have all chests, herbs, locations, lorestones, shops etc all shown (On the Inner Maps, light blue orbs are the Lorestones)!

These are the basic steps from part 3 which I am listing separately in the video description for further reference as a lot is involved. Part 3 is where we create the OVERPOWERED build which allows us to do 500 dmg with a bow, 2k dmg with a single dagger attack and over 5k dmg with magic, some defence is thrown in there as well and this is ALL before completing any missions!! Oh yea, and we also get 1.2 million cash!!!

 

 

Leading on from part #2 end;

1. RATHIR for the cutscene.

 

2. MOON CAMP, get nearby 1 x hidden treasure, Sell Kellerac's Sword, sell and then buy back all 6 stolen gems.

 

3. GORHART, get nearby 1 x hidden treasure, junk/destroy or sell all your weapons, apparel, accessories, components, reagents and sagecraft shards (not gems). Take all 'THE' items from special chest along with Dowsing Rod and Elixir of Inspiration.

 

4. AYTEN, buy 1 x Greater Jeweled Shillelagh and 1 x Greater Merchant's Command.

 

5. EMAIRE, un-equip Wayfarer destiny, buy/sell Paladin's Gem, buy/sell Gem of Hemorrhaging & Gem of Clotting, buy/sell Restoring Gem. Equip Wayfarer destiny then use Elixir and Greater Merchant's Command. Now sell ALL weapons, apparel, Gem of Expansion & Revitalizing Gem. Then buy Lambent Fire Shard x 4, Lambent Ice Shard x 4, Lambent Magic Shard x 4 and Cloudy Physical Shard x 8.

 

6. MEL AGLIR, buy Pristine Fire/Ice/Magic/Physical/Poison and Protection shards.

 

7. RATHIR, buy Small Azurite Blades x 1, Greater Everlasting String x 3, Greater Damaging Fulcrum x 1, Greater Flamed Hilt x 1. Then buy Greater Assailing Rivet x 3. Next buy Pristine Fire shard x 3 and Lambent Ice shard x 6, (merchant potion should be wearing off almost at this point) and then use the Jeweled Shillelagh potion. Strengthen all shards then craft Epic Gem with 2 x Physical shards = Gem of the Subjugator. Then craft Armor Gem x 6 with Fire and Ice shards = Gem of Shelter x 6.  Un-equip Wayfarer destiny then buy/sell aa Gem of Shelters, afterwards buy Pristine Physical x 3, Pristine Poison x 3, Lambent Magic x 6 and Lambent Protection x 6. Now strengthen all shards and then craft Weapon Gem with Protection and Poison + Gem of Amplitude x 4 and Utility Gem with Magic + Physical = Gem of Radiance x 4. Then buy/sell all Gem of Amplitudes. Now buy/read/sell Books x 17 and get Persuasion Trainer.

 

8. HOUSE OF VALOR, equip Wayfarer destiny then buy Improved Damaging Bindings x 4, Improved Damaging Grip x 4 and Greater Experience Booster x 3, then go bed time for 20 x days. once awake, buy Greater Experience Booster x 3 and Greater Damaging Bindings x 3.

 

9. RATHIR, buy Greater Assailing Rivet x 1, buy Pristine Fire/Ice/Poison shards x 3 each, then buy Lambent Magic x 2 and Lambent Ice/Protection x 6 each. Strengthen all shards then craft Weapon Gem with Protection + Poison = Gem of Amplitude x 3, Armor Gem with Fire + Ice = Gem of Shelter x 3, Utility Gem with Magic + Physical = Gem of Radiance x 3. Now un-equip Wayfarer destiny and buy/sell Gem of Amplitudes and Gem of Shelters. Finally buy Ring of Light, Master Phasewalk x 2, Prismere Lockpick x 6 and Lockpick x 24.

 

10. ADESSA, buy Greater Blacksmith's Craft x 1 then buy/read/sell Books x 16. Buy Overwhelming Medallion of Shelter, the Backpack and Lockpick x 24, then get the Persuasion training.

 

11. IRONFAST KEEP, buy Improved Rigid Lining x 1 and Repair Kit x 10.

 

12. HELMGARD KEEP, buy Improved Armored Trim x 3.

 

13. EMAIRE, get Alchemy training, then buy Noble's Band of Growth and Lockpick x 12, finally Unbind via the Fateweaver.

 

14. BRUNUATH, get Lockpick trainer.

 

15. SHIELDRING KEEP, buy Birch Limb x 1 and get Blacksmith training.

 

16. HOUSE OF BALLADS, get Persuasion training.

 

17. GORHART, buy Backpack x 1 and Lockpick x 12, then buy Minor Healing Potion x 24 and Minor Mana Potion x 24. Now take the Compass of Fate from the special chest and then get the Detect Hidden training.

 

18. DIDENHIL, Level up Blacksmith+1, Detect Hidden+3, Lockpick+1, Persuasion+1, put 4 points into Might (any), 4 points into Finesse (Dagger Mastery) and the rest into Sorcery (put into abilities and max Sphere of Portection), pick Wayfarer destiny. Buy Birch Guard x 1, then the Leather 5 piece set each x 1 Brace/Chestplate/Headdress/Heel/Mitt. Now use Blacksmith potion and craft Weapon Dagger/Bow, then Rogue Armor Cap/Leggings/Gloves/Boots/Buckler/Armor but make sure you use the Gem of Subjugator for the chest armor piece.

 

You're now ready to wipe out 50% of the universes population!!

What's the overall time for 100%? Will you include guides for the upcoming DLC? Any chance we can get a legend added to the maps?

I honestly don't know yet, I've only been through main story few times and messing with some misc trophies, trying to work out better strats than some of the guides as some strats are so generalised and there are actually some pretty good strats in the game waiting to be utilised!!

 

(Pickpocket trophy for example, there is a way to pop this trophy from scratch in about 90 seconds, current strats can make it a painful 30 minutes or so)

 

Figured from there, 1st thing is to get through game, doing some misc stuff along the way, then drop difficulty, speedrunning on hard is annoying. 10 hours is central number atm, not sure what way it will go and how much yet.

 

Though this isnt a pure speedrun as I need to spend time showing stuff, may pure speedrun after.

 

I may cover DLC yea as I'm quite loving the game.

 

Not sure with the legends, I'll see what I can do along the way. I only put them together for myself, but better up here than nothing I thought. If I'm going to add legends, I would have to go all the way and add some interior Lorestones and such and a few other things otherwise I would feel like I'm doing half a job XD, I can't say for sure, but I'll try along the way.

 

Have you not played it yet then?? 

 

It's a pretty fun game, looks shallow upfront I think, but once you get into it, the gameplay gets real deep

I played it for about 10 minutes on Xbox 360 nearly a decade ago, but that was the limit of my experience. I was pretty excited about this being on PS+ until I found out there's a new paid DLC coming, so my interest has been stifled until more information is available (pricing, guides, etc).

@Optinooby It seems the 4 google drive images are all pointing to the same image instead of 4 different ones.

It's one of those games that I already wanted to play on PS3 but never got around to... let's hope I manage on PS4

I wouldn't be surprised if they released it along with a PS5 version, this DLC has been in the works for a long time, they must be planning something!!

Sorry ;), fixed now (I think), there are only 2 maps btw so far, I have just linked a full size and reduced size version of each.

I put another link up there, basically just numbers on the map to show you the route to get to level 6 without quests and discover all key fast travel points, plus a few extra things.

 

You need to pal, great games!!

Part 3 is about to go up, I'm adding this update post as I've added steps to the OP here on how to get overpowered within first 90 minutes without doing any quests and from only level 6. The build reduces damage by about 50% and makes you inflict crazy numbers  of damage on hard!! The bow deals 500 dmg, a single dagger attack deals 2000 damage and magic does even more, way more in fact!!

Guide is almost done guys, 7 parts left coming in at 16 hours, a lot quicker than the estimated 80+hrs for all trophies.

I'm wondering how plausible it is for a first-timer to pull off a 16 hour run? Having to read and watch everything the guide entails, what would be a more accurate total time?

if watching the videos, time spent watching I guess but us guide creators never think about the time you spend browsing, reading or watching

 

There is nothing overly difficult, so maybe you could allow an extra 5 hours due to being new and in case of problems, so just after 20 hours maybe.

 

Bear in mind though, the DLC is almost as long as the platinum if going this fast ;(
