Don't Like The DS4's Light Bar?

Well here's a pretty cool solution for it :)

You can buy them from ebay (there's a few types) [link] and they're pretty cheap. Here's an article about them too [link].

Now what do you guys think about these? I was pretty skeptical about the light when I heard/saw about it, but now I don't think it's that bad. There's been a few times where I've seen the reflection on my tv, but other than that I've barely noticed it. Then again it seems pretty pointless to me at the moment as it isn't really used, at least not for the games I've played.

I definitely think they look better than the light bar so I might actually get one :D

This is a good alternative to minimize the light shining on the TV.

I just want the option to disable it when it's not necessary for game-play. It KILLS the battery.

However this is better. The light bar and the always on touch button really eats through the battery. The DS4 has a lot more that drains the battery yet only has about a 30% bigger battery, 800 mAh according to the DS4 compared to 620 mAh on the DS3. Yet the DS3 lasts 3-4x longer at least. I know the light bar is partially there as a replacement for PS Move but given the light points away from you, which makes certain games using it as an indicator of something happening rather pointless, i.e. Warframe, and most games are not and will never be ones that use the camera then not giving the option to turn it off is just really bad design. According to Shuhei Yoshida there is no intention of ever giving us the option to turn it off either.

Which has minimal use for users like myself whom do not own the camera (partially because I never felt the need to film amateur pornography to stream over a Twitch channel).

That said, doesn't the PS4 still utilize the original Move controllers as well?

lol I had heard about that. The camera really has no interest to me either. There was only 1 game for the PS3 that required the Move that I was even remotely interested in and I haven't even bothered getting that despite my 2nd PS3 being the Move bundle that I got about 2 years ago.

It actually might, I'm not entirely sure. When I was checking into the light bar on the DS4 I had just read that it was going to be used like the Move was and paired with the camera for certain features.

It seems useless but I had one cool experience with it.. When I played outlast and was getting low on batteries, the night vision on the camera glitches a starts flashing sometimes. And so does the light on the controller. I was playing at night so it was dark and the light from the controller really light up the room, so when it flashed it jumped me a bit. It just a pretty cool use of it.
...but than again I'd rather not have the light, or there should be a option to turn it off because or drains the battery a whole lot
