Popular Post JEDLander
I think it’s time to wrap this game up. I’ve come back for the expansions because I've always kinda hoped that 76 would eventually start to feel like a proper Fallout game, and because I wanted to keep my 100%. I’ve 100%’ed the other games in the series and I want to keep this one completed too, but holy shit this content is just tedious now. I think it’s just time for it to stop. Wastelanders was way too little too late, it turns out that it doesn’t matter whether it’s humans or robots giving you tedious fetch quests and busywork-style errands, it rapidly becomes boring regardless. Oh and if you want the 100% then you're gonna have to make an entire second character, get it to Lv 20 and slog through the whole thing AGAIN. Thanks Bethesda. Not trophy-related but any cool gear that would make the game slightly more enjoyable is locked behind days or even weeks of grinding, and it’s almost entirely RNG dependent, and Bethesda know what the good legendary perks are so you can bet they set those to appear less frequently. I stopped bothering after about a month of the 'endgame'. Honestly I can’t even remember what happened in the BoS expansion. Seriously. Does anybody remember a single character’s name? But anyway I trudged through that... 'story'... and actually deleted the game. I thought I was done with this trophy list. No such luck. Now we have The Pitt expansion, which adds a mostly barren and boring-looking area, with no potential for exploration whatsoever, and an entire 2 missions to complete. But you can only do one per day. Oh and before you can access the new missions, you have to complete 3 utterly pointless fetch quests in the hotel, and you have to repeat them every day that you want to start an 'expedition'. Just... why? Why randomly waste our time like that? Trogs are far, far rarer than the human enemies in the Pitt, meaning that unless you exploit the checkpoint system, you'll have to do 3 or 4 expeditions to find the 100 trogs that you need to slice up, and you can only unlock the axe you need through the scoreboard. Fantastic. The final trophy in the expansion is literally a daily fetch quest that you need to do for 10 days for some reason. This game never hit its stride and it's time for it just to end now. At least stop adding new trophies so that us completionists can leave in peace... Afterword: this is a forum of trophy-hunters and completionists for whom the sunk-cost fallacy is tantamount to a philosophy. As such, 'wHy noT jUst sToP pLaYiNg' is not a valuable contribution in any way. I want my 100% bitch. I didn't haul through that entire base game, solo a missile silo and grind through all those other random BS trophies and DLC's just so I can sit at 89% completion. If you love 76 then great. I hope they keep giving you reason to come back. I just hope they stop releasing trophies so that I can peacefully disembark and never return.
Popular Post Letenko
I hope they add more. I have been enjoying the game since day 1 and I will defend it every chance I get. I honestly liked the game before Wastelanders as I really enjoyed the aspect of every human being a player and you still had quests from robots, terminals and holotapes. To address some of your points, the "make a second character for Wastelanders" trophy was understandable as Fallout 4 had trophies for each faction as well, but it was a terrible choice, I agree. Not to mention having to grind reputation. I'd argue that you don't need any of that end game gear ti make and end game character. I have put 980 hours into the game and I don't have an end game character, however I have easily pass any missions, daily ops, or even the Pitt expeditions. I want to prefice this part by saying that I am not a fan of the BoS at all, in any Fallout, maybe with the exception of 3. The BoS expansion had some interesting things in it, such as choosing which version of the Brotherhood you like more (OG or Lyons') but given that it was in 76 and it being an MMO-lite, it fell short and choices didn't really matter so overall I agree that it wasn't too interesting. Now comes The Pitt... oh The Pitt. I won't argue that there are only 2 missions, or that you have to do shitty dailies to access them, all of those are valid points that I agree with. The DLC as a whole is a letdown. Esp3cially given how they said it took the 2 years to develop... bullshit. What I disagree with is the fact that the 2 areas are interesting to explore and they do offer world building if you just look around. Best thing you can do is to launch each expedition solo once and do it at your own pace. Hobestly, the best part of the DLC for me was the return of The Responders, as I am a huge fan of the group. What is absolutely inexcusable is the rewards and their price... I can't imagine grinding stamps to unlock street lamps for your camp... Just no. Not that I think most people here care about in-game stuff as we're on a trophy site, but I do. Speaking of trophies, they are very easy to achieve, so even people qho dislike the game can be done in 2-3 days. What is really jarring is that the Autoaxe is part of the seasonal rewards... I don't even want to imagine what it will cost once the season ends. That's if you'll be able to buy it right away. I'd argue that the game was at its besy just before wastelanders, but I have enjoyed coming back for new content and despite some valid criticism, I really like the game. I hope they keep adding more content whether it be with or without trophies as this game has a great community of supporters. Might be the best online community I was ever part of, frankly. I wish more people gave the game a chance, but I understand that a lot of people especially here will just see more trophies as not an opportunity to get more out of the game (mind you each update was free), but as a chore to play through content they don't want to experience in the first place.
Infected Elite
sounds like a 'you' problem. If the game is doing well now, why stop? it brings in profit too.
megacoolermensch
didn't they say fallout 76 will be supported for 5 years? so theres 1 year left where they might add dlc trophies?
Darling Baphomet
I'm just waiting for a 4k / 60fps patch, but maybe I'll give up and just finish it up on the PS4 version. 3 hours ago, JEDLander said: Afterword: this is a forum of trophy-hunters and completionists for whom the sunk-cost fallacy is tantamount to a philosophy. You've committed yourself to a trophy hunting philosophy of getting all the trophies in a game. That means keeping up with DLC as it releases. If you don't like it, either don't play live service games or change your 'philosophy'. Trophies are a metric of content and achievements in a game. Of course if a game keeps getting significant expansions, it's going to get more trophies. That's literally how trophies are meant to work. It's not the devs' fault that you've decided to force yourself to play games you don't like for trophies.

Complaining that you have to play a game that you don't even enjoy just to get it back to 100% is not a valuable contribution either. You chose to play the game, you chose to be a completionist, well here's the downside of that mindset. You may get stuck playing a game you don't even like just to get that coveted 100%. It appears the DLC has given the game a second wind and there are a lot of players playing it. It's a good thing that a game coming up on 4 years old now is still getting supported and getting new content and wasn't just abandoned and buried which they could've easily done as well like many other games. I didn't particularly enjoy Fallout 76 either but you know, I did what most other folks would do and I stopped playing it. Completionists love to wallow in their own self-inflicted grief. A hobby shouldn't be giving you this much misery, but eh, to each their own.

I would just point out that in Fallout 4 (and the others in the series) you could make a manual save just before any major turning point and you can easily complete the various endgame quests that way 19 hours ago, FeiKra said: didn't they say fallout 76 will be supported for 5 years? so theres 1 year left where they might add dlc trophies? ...... fuck.
