GTAV PC Delayed... Again... (But System Requirements)

GTA V PC officially delayed to March 24th.

Ultimately quite a disappointment to me. I was making GTA V my benchmark into deciding whether or not I go PC or Playstation this generation. If this fancy next-gen re-release of GTA V ran great without showing too much strain on my poor ol' PC, then I feel like PC might have the edge. Giving me some hope for future games and their viability on my aging hardware (until if/when I feel motivated to upgrade). Not sure I feel like middling between the two platforms for another two months. I'm already holding out buying the Resident Evil REmake HD release because I can't decide where I want to buy it, need to figure this out sooner or later!

On the plus side, at least they finally put out system requirements.

Minimum specifications:

OS: Windows 8.1 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 7 64 Bit Service Pack 1, Windows Vista 64 Bit Service Pack 2* (*NVIDIA video card recommended if running Vista OS)

Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs) / AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core Processor (4 CPUs) @ 2.5GHz

Memory: 4GB

Video Card: NVIDIA 9800 GT 1GB / AMD HD 4870 1GB (DX 10, 10.1, 11)

Sound Card: 100% DirectX 10 compatible

HDD Space: 65GB

DVD Drive

Recommended specifications:

OS: Windows 8.1 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 7 64 Bit Service Pack 1

Processor: Intel Core i5 3470 @ 3.2GHZ (4 CPUs) / AMD X8 FX-8350 @ 4GHZ (8 CPUs)

Memory: 8GB

Video Card: NVIDIA GTX 660 2GB / AMD HD7870 2GB

Sound Card: 100% DirectX 10 compatible

HDD Space: 65GB

DVD Drive

Making this even more of a head scratcher... because my PC is actually at/above the recommended. So I have to think my PC should be able to work it handily. So maybe I just go with my PC as if it were already released. Who knows though, system requirements can be pretty misleading.

Yet my console is here, ready to play, no questions asked. Erg!

(Talk about first world problems!)

Wait, they're still supporting Vista? I thought that Vista was widely seen as a failure and/or memory hog.

Like Dreakon13 said, SP2 made Vista usable for basic tasks. I would not advise to people but Vista is decent (With SP2 of course). I must say, I'm a bit shocked and confused too lol.

Just happened to be reading an article about this during lunch and then noticed this thread. I will say that it's not atypical for a Rockstar game to get delayed and the final products are usually well worth it. Here's a linkie for yous:

Since I run a C2Duo 2.53 GHz, 4 GB DDR2, 512 MB GeForce 8600M and a 512 GB rust drive, I now feel antiquated by those minimum requirements. But since I haven't run any PC games newer than Civilization 4, I can't say I'm all that frustrated. I'm glad I'm not in that whole PC rat race any more, there is no end. PS3, PS4, PS Vita, PS TV. The simplicity is so nice.
