I've been thinking about this idea for quite a while and came to the conclusion to make this thread and see what others think about this situation. It's about the trophy tips. Nowadays you can't post a trophy tip anymore since most guides provide the right information about the trophies, at least that's what you think. But you might reconsider that. First of all not every game has a trophy guide. There are A LOT of games that have no guides. So how do you want to provide information about specific trophies if there isn't a guide for the game? Exactly, with trophy tips of course!Secondly, even if a game has a guide that still doesn't mean that what the guide says is always the best thing to do. Some trophy tips explain A LOT more than what is being said in the guide. I've got a great example explaining this situation.(Don't mention the green and blue things, that's just my mac acting weird). As you can see trophy tips can give us a lot more information and could be a lot more useful for specific trophies than what the guide says.I'm curious what you guys think about this. I have sometimes found a very easy way to get a specific trophy for a specific game, and have shared that knowledge (on various website though). But i'm not a native speaker so writing in english is hard for me. Writing a small tip for a specific trophy is doable, but i won't begin to write an entire guide. I think they should bring them back. I'm not going to write a whole guide because I want to leave a tip for one trophy which might help others get the trophy. I've had it and it's super annoying, but it's removable. On topic, Sly created the guide system like 1 year ago and many people started writing guides when it happened (like me). If someone can just write a tip why would they bother writing a full guide? If tips were to come back the number of guides per month would take a huge hit. I haven't read every single tip but, overall, the tips I have read have tended to be unhelpful because they only relate to one trophy and did not help me to understand the game or what I was supposed to be doing overall. Creating a guide takes a lot more work and, taken as a whole, the guide system is better because the writer has to think about writing a coherent guide. I don't see the negative aspect of it, and I don't think it'll decrease the amount of guides that'll be written. I can't speak for other writers, but I get notified whenever someone comments on my guide. If they give constructive criticism, then I am happy to update my guides with their information. At a minimum though, the comments thread should provide a "check & balance" to counteract errors or omissions in guides. I always check the comments when referring to a guide while I play.
