Nogg's Casino - Open (Competition Underway)

Hey everyone and welcome to Nogg's Casino. Now you're all probably wondering what this is, well quite a few months ago in my old Challenges some participants thought of changing the rules up. Basically when everybody joins they will all put $30 in, I'm hoping for at least 8 participants to compete over the course of twelve months. That would make the final prize money to be worth a whopping $240! (Possibly more depending how many people we get) The $30 will be given to the winner at the end of the comp however he would like to receive it (PayPal, gift card etc)

But how do we win?

To win you'll have to have the most points by the end of the competition, look below on how you can earn points. To make things fair each participant will choose twelve games without any of the other participants knowing. You will order them one, two all the way to twelve. After that you will be randomly chosen with another participant and he will be your "partner" for that month, meaning you will both be playing a randomly selected game from another participants list.

But what if I get stuck with a game like Star Ocean? What then Nogg!!!

Well if for some stupid reason someone decides to do that, don't worry I have a solution! The games you choose must NOT be:

- Unobtainable
- No Plat
- Over 200 hours
- You have to have played the game to request it

This makes things fair, if you do happen to get a game thats 200 hours long I'm sorry but that's the way things go.

What are the requirements to join?

- 100 posts
- Must have Ps4
- No cheaters allowed

But what if I come second, do I still get a prize?

Well if you make it to the end but finish last you still get a prize! Everybody will have a custom made "trophy" for their signature saying "Nogg's Casino Participant x place".

1st place - $210 (may change depending on number of participants)
Everyone else who made it to the end received the custom made trophy and maybe a PSN gift card to the side

At the end of each month I will update the " ladder " which will be the competition standings.

How do we earn these so called "points"

Obtained an ultra rare platinum -> 25pts
Obtained a rare or very rare platinum -> 15pts
Obtained platinum - 10pts
Completed DLC -> 5pts
Being active in the thread -> 10pts (rewarded at the end of the month if you have 7 or more posts related to the thread)
Co-op bonus -> 7pts for helping a fellow competitor gain co-op or online trophies on top of trying to finish your own game
Started bonus -> 1pt for getting at least one trophy in your game of the month
Fastest achiever in your group -> 6pts

*Bonus Points*

Bonus points will be given out by me for the amount of likes given (15 or more likes given in one month you will receive 3 points)

Created a trophy guide for the game they are playing (4 points)

Making into the top 50 fastest achievers of all time:
- top 10 (13pts)
- top 25 (12pts)
- top 50 (11pts)

I'm guessing Saltyie will be in, hoping couchster also joins. I spoke to Gibbo and he said he's thinking about it so I put him down as maybe. If we can get six I'll start the comp and everybody will have a partner.

Six of us would mean $180 in prize money for that lucky winner

EDIT:

Instead of fastest achiever do you think it would be better to have fastest achiever for ultra rare plats and then a different section for the rest?

So like: Fastest Achiever (ultra rare) Fastest Achiever (Non Ultra Rare)

That rule does sound reasonable and fair, I'll add it to the OP, about that prize money thing that did cross my mind but thought it wasn't a problem. Because most people came here for the prize money (lol) would could increase it but that would depend if people would want that. But I guess if you came first you would end up having spent no money for games in this comp with most likely some money left over.

If we increased it to $50 that would end up being $600 for the winner, what does everyone think about that? We could just keep it at $30 per person?

Also about the alternative account, I'll have to think about that one :\

I've received Saltyie and HcG's list of games, the quicker the lists are submitted the quicker we can get started

I'm probably going to close the sign ups for now because we have a nice even amount of people, if you really want to join just ask and I'll see what I can do. Once I have everybody's games in order I'll be ready to put your names in a random generator to see who your first partner is as well as your game.

Also the game MUST be played on your account and not on a dummy account or anything like that.

If i were you I'd wait with the kick-off until mid january. With the holidays a lot of people will not be able to be very active here on the forum and in the first couple of weeks of january you'll most likely get some more joining in.

Great idea! I'll probably end up going for a Jan 15 start I'll add a countdown clock to the OP soon. I'll probably have it at a maximum of 16 participants, if we happen to get 16 that would be $480 prize money, if we decide to give $30. If we decide on $50 that would take it to $800 for the winner.

I just have a few questions..concerns....comments to ask/make before making any commitment (which will still be a yes because I have no life and like video games way to much).

 

Are we sending you the 30 in advance? via paypal? When do you want it? Someone mentioned maybe starting a little bit later...I'd be down for that only because some of us are the oldest of 9 and have nieces and parents and wife's and mother in laws and spent over a grand on Christmas and need to pay off they're credit card haha

I agree with Saltyie on the fastest achiever/first to plat points. What if someone gets a 20 hour game every month and everyone else gets something longer? The person with the short easy game will win the points every time hands down....I think something may need to change in order to be a little more fair.

I like this co op bonus idea. It would have been nice to be rewarded for all the help I have given in The Crew and Battlefront in other comps
