Some easier way to get SSS rank on some bosses...

Well, I have to say DMC4se is one of the hardest platinum trophy I've ever played.

Just got an idea, to get SSS rank on some bosses quickly.....

If you really stuck on these trophies, maybe you can try this, but just for some of the bosses.

If you clear Dante Must Die Mode with Nero and Dante, you will get the super costumes for both of them. Then just use Dante with super costumes and play Dante Must Die mode again, Don't forget to choose Gunslinger style and Pandora. When you face to the boss, just keep the distance and air hike and press O.... then just press O incessantly, it will be very easy to get SSS rank if you really have problem on it. But Dante can only defeat Berial, Dagon, Echidna and Agnus. The other 3 bosses it will depend on your skill, I feel Credo and Sanctus is fine, just make sure without taking damage. But Dante is really hard........Still working on it.

I will share some of my knowledge as well, if you don't bother to do it with the Pandora. Just a bit decent skill is there required. My knowledge which i'm going to share is only for Nero/Dante, as well you can watch and see my strats on the following videos which i'm going to link here.

 

First at all, you can do the Trophies on LDK/SOS or DMD, but most of the time DMD is better, since you have more openings and more time to get your SSS back, if you fail at some point. All Bosses except Dante, Credo & Sanctus can be done on Mission 19. If you want to try, to get them through your S Rank Playthrough then; Berial (M2 / M16), Bael, - Dagon ( M4 / M15), Echidna (M7 / M13), Credo ONLY M8, - you can also try as well to do this in the Bloody Palace Stage #80, Agnus (M9 / M17), Dante (M1 / M10) - i advise you to do M1 at this point. Berial VS Nero: 

 

Actually, if you have decent skills in this Game, then it shouldn't be a big deal to get an SSS Rank against Berial. But sometimes Berial can waste your time and your Rank won't be perhaps anymore an SSS Rank. Like for example when he's doing the vulcano attack, where some fire columns are appearing from the ground or having less health and you can't build up style anymore etc...

My solution will explain you actually how to get an easy SSS Rank without damage Berial himself.This method can be only done with Nero. Also it can be used while you are working on your S Ranks or when you just need him to do again alone. 

This method also give you, if you could successfully pull of the strat and defeat him with no damage DMG 5000 Stylish Points. It doesn't matter on which difficulty!!! The amount of points are the same for the 360 Version. Unless you will advance your strat to build up a very few more points. But in this solution i won't explain how the calculations are working exactly.

First a small view how the following strat will looks like:

Full explanation:

Before you start the fight, have maximum Exced and charge the Pistol to Lv3.

#1 - Go directly infront to his legs
#2 - Press , for the Devil Bringer (def. config)
#3 - When he's raising his legs to crush you, press  to Jump. - Remember; Jumps have iframes
#4 - repeat until he's doing the "Roooaaar" - Two evidences when he's doing the "Roooaaar"
* If you press  again to raise him his legs, there happens nothing and he's not raising his legs.
* He shaking his head and stretching his body like for example you wake up at the morning
#5 - Do a Jump again up to his head and activate DT  (def config.)
#6 - Shot with your charged pistole AT first, then do an Exced Lv3 Calibur, which is really really important to build up your style!!! (  +  +  Down Up). Which moves you are using doesn't really matters, just do a few hits until he's done.

Repeat this until you have your SSS Rank. As you can also see, i took also my time to load up my Exced again to strike again. You can load up Exced and your Pistole at the same time, if you can't pull of to load your pistole while attacking him. 

This strat can be ONLY done at the beginning, until he's doing his first explosion. Which happens when you're close to take his first two life bars. 

For a normal Mission attemp, while you're working on your S Rankst:

If you are currently aiming to get an S Rank in one of the following missions, then you will have to try to do a no damage run or a less damage run. The advantage about this method is, you havefrom the begin an SSS Rank without damage him, which will give you a lot of space. 

Before you read the other parts, have the shot button on  instead of the usual  Button, to load up everytime the pistole for an important part. - More on going in the solution. 

To deal out a run like this, i can only advise you to use your Devil Trigger (DT) as a shield protection, when you see he could hit you but you can't get out of the situation. When you're activate DT to protect yourself, don't press any other buttons if you want to hold on the iframes for a few more seconds. DT is also your life saver most of the time when he's doing his explosion. When you are on the ground, Nero always gets stunned for a few moments, after this stun, activate DT, because this attack is a bit delayed. When you are in the air, activate it after a second if you are close to him, if not wait 2 seconds and leave the DT animation until it's done naturally. 

Berials most annoying attack, in my opinion are the fire columns which appears from the ground. There's an easy way to let Berial avoid doing this. Everytime you will see, he's using his hand 90° straight to the ground, then every second the vulcanos are coming, to avoid this <- have your pistole charged up to Lv3 (when your hand glows red), just shot him, he will get stunned and doing something else. 

 

Berial VS Dante:

 

As soon, as the fight begin, go infront to him or to his legs in the back. Have Royal Guard as your Style. Do a One-Million Stab, cancel it with  while RG Style is on, repeat this until Berial wants to parry you. At this moment, jump and use a Royal Block. You can repeat this until you have your SSS. Sometimes he's going to attack you while doing a circle on you, you can Royal Block it as well, you just do a Side Roll. The only reason why i didn't made there an SSS Rank is, i was going to do a WR run and the Time for S Rank was very close, if i had grinded up more, i would have missed my S Rank in Time, which means no WR at this point.

The good thing with this strat is there, you're filling your RG Gauge and when he's going to attack you, you can just do a Royal Release, which makes him stunned and then it's free with Real Impact. 

 

Bael VS Nero: 

 

As soon, as the fight begins, you'll have to fight at first with his Ladies. With a few small strats they are quite doable and you can get by doing less damage on the Boss allready a C or B Rank. This depends on how fluent you are by using Exceed and Charge Shots. How ever, what you will need to do is hold R1 by locking one of them as your target, then do a short jump, then do a Calibur. The height difference has to be like a bit below her head, then you'll always get her with the Calibur and you can land a Charge Shot. By pressing , as you have touched her head, you will cancel the Calibur and then you can jump away from her and regulate your distance. As soon, as you see, they are doing an attack, which takes a few secs until it's done like at 23:23 (Video below), you can easily Snatch and Devil Buster them. After this, Bael will mostly appear then. 

 

Bael has two weak points; 

 

1st one: When he's going to blow up his mouth and is going to shoot his ice, then go to him and attack his mouth while he's doing that. After that he will always get stunned and you can earn a free SSS Rank. 

2nd: As in my video, always when he's jumping up to down, to you, you'll be "inside" of him and you can deal there a lot of Damage, if you repeat this 1-2 more times, he will get stunned again and while he's stunned, do at first a few attack, then Devil Buster him, after this he's going to be awakend. He's always howling at this time, use this opening to get your SSS Rank. These parts are the easies way to get your SSS Rank in my opinion.

Nero VS Credo:

 

As you know, Credo can throw his spears towards you. When he's doing that, just Snatch them back and you'll get a flawless SSS. This method can be always used, doesn't matter how much you damaged him allready. For beating him; Make sure you always have charged up your Pistole to Lv3. Go close to him, he will start of his 3 Hit Combo, go quickly back, then do a Highroller (no Exced Version), 2 Slashes, Devil Buster. When you thrown him away, do a charge shot. If you repeat all these parts you'll get and keep easily an SSS Rank.

At the later parts, when he's using his Nails following steps: When his nails are circle around you, activate DT. When he's throwing them next to you, do Side Rolls or Rush/Jump to the left/right, depends on the situation. 

 

I could share an one hit combo, but this one is in a way to advance to do. 

 

Nero VS Echidna:

 

There aren't actually no real strats, since the loop doesn't work in SE anymore. How ever, i always suggest to Charge Shots Lv3, when ever possible. It's a great Style push up, especially when she wants to go into the ground. When she's sitting there, be always close to her. If you take a few secs of listening her voices, then Jump/Rush away from her tentacles. When you see, her attacks are done and you're still in the Air, do always a Split. To get more Air Time just shot with your pistole. Luckily you don't need to do a flawless run against her, because every hit to her counts like 2-3x more then usual enemies/bosses.

Dante VS Echidna: 

 

It's pretty similar to Nero, but somehow Dante can be easier thanks to his Lucifer. Start the fight by using Sword Master, Lucifer Pin Ups and then switch to Trickster <- teleport and use while you're in the air R1+LS back+Circle. If you do this like i did in my video, you have a great stylish gain. As for beating her, always use Lucifer Pin Ups, they will ALWAYS increase your Stylemeter. If you see, she's going to use her tentacles when she's in the ground, use the same strat as Nero. Just as for an advance hint, you can save more air time by using the Pistoles with Gunslinger Style.

Nero VS Agnus:

 

This fight is somehow stressfull at the end, depends on how much Agnus is going to use his Circleblades. If you are familar with Exceed then it's not a real big deal to catch up Stylemeter. How ever, heres a basic strat which can be always used when he's summoning his Swords, - Gladius. Activate DT, rush to Agnus side, lock one of the Gladius with R1, Snatch <- you'll Snatch all Gladiuse together, then use Maximum Bet. (not charged) 

If you can't go to his side, you can jump back to his spine, activate DT in the mid of the upcoming, summoning Sword and mash them all. 

 

If Agnus is going to summon the dogs, stay in the mid, try to have Max Exced, activate DT and then do a Shuffle, they will always die. 

 

Nearly at the end, he's using many times his circleblades, at this point, always Shot Charge Shot Lv3, to keep up your points, By using DT at the right moment you will be able to avoid his attack. A small hint to use DT as your shield; Don't jump or attack, you'll get more iframes.

Dante VS Agnus: 

 

Following opening: If he's going to summon his Swords, just Dives (Swordmaster - R1+LS back + Circle), charge them while you have put your target lock on Agnus. If you see they appeared and you charged it, doesnt matter of Lv1 or 2, just shot and you'll get a great Style push up. Alternative, when he's going to summon them, use DRI - Real Impact. If you time it correctly, you'll get the Swords as well. 

If you can't pull of one of these strats, go to his back, take Darkslayer as a Style and Spam in this direction; Circle + soft touched X + Circle etc.

Nero VS Sanctus:

 

A friend of me made a great video with the Trap Lock Loop, which is quite easy to do. At this point i won't say much, because he had done the run with Live Commentary.

Thanks for your strategy, actually I was thinking does anyone got SSS rank with Vergil? I tried Vergil in LDK mode once but I failed, always got SS because either bosses are died quickly or I got damage:(

I found it incredibly time consuming, however S ranks aren't very demanding. If we had to S rank everything on DMD in DMC3 it would be way, way worse.

Yes DMC3 would be harder but there are a few differences. First at all, most of the DMC4 Guides are in a way better for S ranks, since there are Achievement/Trophy related. Second part is, in DMC3 you can get SS Ranks by using Super Char.
DMC2 would be the worst one.

Also if youre good enough DMC4 it is not that time consuming. If you say, it is time consuming its also hard for you.

I'm still planning to earn the Platinum on DMC2 and DMC1.

Luckily, My DMC HD Collection is PAL Version, so I think it will be easier .

DMC3 I think is fine, because it only need you to get all S rank in any difficulties, so just pick up Easy or Normal to achieve it.

And I have to say, the easiest Platinum in DMC series should be DmC DE on PS4.....(Though i don't really like DmC....It's an amazing game, but not an amazing Devil May Cry)

Not really. You have to play through the game tons of times, the second half which is basically running back where you came from, which gets incredibly tedious. This is no 30-40 hour standard plat. I guess the repetitiveness makes it feel even longer.

Basically it can be done like in 32 hours, which i made on my X1 Run... It always depends on, how good you are in the game.

I did all of the SSS trophies except for Dante's on Hell and Hell difficulty. Hell and Hell is a way to kind of cheat the system since the enemies are set to Devil Hunter difficulty, but it's considered a higher setting than Son of Sparda since you die in one hit. Since the trophies are based on style rankings though, dying in one hit isn't a big deal since you can't take damage anyway to get your rating up. Just turn on your Super costume and go for it. Each boss only took me a few attempts.

 

I did Dante a different way by using Lady on DMD difficulty and in the first mission. Here is a video (not mine):

revisiting the game myself, And this is probably super noob/stupid for someone like you who has an actual understanding of style and how the game functions. But i see people can pull SSS on Heaven and Hell. Which confuses me as thats 1 hit win/death. How can you build style if you OHK bosses? And while i get that your method uses Hell and Hell instead of the Heaven variant i get that 1 hit death would save time for retries i dont fully understand how thats a preferred method to SSS versus Heaven of Hell. Please enlighten a scrub like me. thanks

I don't quite understand the Heaven or Hell version, but it seems to involve using Buster attacks and evasions to build up your style. I didn't personally like the looks of this method, as it's much easier to mess up. Hell and Hell really isn't bad at all once you get the hang of the game, and I preferred to do the trophies that way because it's just more fun to beat the bosses down creatively and build your style up the natural way. I originally wasn't planning to even do them on this setting, but when I was doing my normal playthrough of Hell and Hell, I got one of the SSS trophies without even thinking about it and decided to do the others the same way.

I did nearly all of SSS trophies while playing SoS difficulty (except Sanctus Diabolica, I did it with Vergil on LDK) with Lady. Just charge your pistols to lvl 3 and burst it! When you stun the boss you can charge your Kalina Ann to lvl 2-3 and still can build up Stylish Rank&Points.
