Popular Post ASlimeAppears
Here is an example of what I mean. Now, that cannibalism trophy thread could be a loooooot of things, depending on what forum it's in. It could be for a zombie game, it could be something in an adult rated game, it could be some weird thread in off topic, it could be some weird picture in the studio, maybe he is bragging about someone he ate. I dunno. That's the thing though, since it doesn't tell me what forum it's in, I have absolutely no context. Same thing for that 100% video guide. Guide for what? There are over 1000 games out there, narrow it down for me. I'd like to see the line with the author and date replaced with something like "posted by whatshisface in Off Topic" or something similar. Here's an example of what I mean... Edited April 21, 2013 by ASlimeAppears
ReverieCode
I agree completely with you and support this idea. Perhaps not replacing the author/date, but adding an extra line, it's more space but I believe there is enough room for that.

Christopher
I really like the idea! It make it easier to sort out which threads you want to spend time observing and such
ASlimeAppears
Oh no, I'm not suggesting removing the author, just the date. Something like this (and yes, this mockup sucks, I don't do this often). I guess you could use a second line but I don't see the purpose in having the date, but maybe I'm just nitpicky.
ReverieCode
Oh, right! Good point, it's way more useful than the date. They're "recent" topics, we can assume they're newly created
AlteredFormula
It isn't a bad idea, but personally I'm not a fan, I like the fact that you may not quite know what you are delving into, as a result I've found some interesting conversations that I wouldn't have bothered with if it had been categorised beforehand. That and the fact that you know where you are as soon as you hit the link, makes it seem like an unnecessary change to me.

That and the fact that you know where you are as soon as you hit the link, makes it seem like an necessary change to me. That's true. However, I went to both of the threads I mentioned in the OP and neither of them interested me at all, so it was a waste of time. No offense to the topic creators of course, I'm sure it matters to them and a lot of people, just not me personally. I just don't like having to play a guessing game. Dr_Mayus
I reccommend this at .Com and they turned me down. My problem was subject lines like Trophy Boosting...what game is being boosted?

Aipher
This is actually not a bad idea, but I would rather it somehow fitted without removing the time. Also the fact that some of the forum names are longer than just "Off topic" it could be a bit of a squeeze and require some ingenuity to get them to fit. An extra line as Playsonic suggested in the first response seems like a good alternative, or else have the forum name appear in the mouseover/hover popup text along with the topic title would be enough. Incentive to explore other things in a game you normally wouldn't have. You're just looking for any reason to try something new. Little did you know, the desire was inside of you all along.
