How to get Comrades trophies after Update 1.27

I decided to make a step-by-step guide on this since I got some PMs for help with this method.

You might be in a situation where you've never installed FFXV, or you've accidentally updated to the latest patch. Unfortunately Version 1.00 lacks the DLC menu in the game so you'll need to have a higher version installed, like 1.26. Well, there is a way to revert back to a previous patch like 1.26, even if you haven't had the game installed before the new update went live. It involves a bit of work, but it shouldn't be anything too bad.

There's a couple of things you should keep in mind:

This method was tested for the physical version of the game. However, I've tested with other digital games that this method works with digital copies too! More will be clarified in the steps of what's different with digital copies.
You must have the Comrades DLC purchased. In your library, check your list of add-ons for FFXV. If you don't have Comrades in there (should be like 7.5 GB), this method won't work. Since Comrades is removed from the PSN store, the only way you can get it is if you buy the Royal Edition. Though not certain, it's very likely that the voucher code that comes with the Royal Edition will add Comrades to your list of add-ons, even after it being removed from PSN. I feel like it should work that way because I had a similar case with another game, Killzone 2 and 3. The DLCs were removed from the PSN store, so I bought the physical edition of the Killzone Trilogy, which came with a voucher code for the DLC map packs. Despite the DLCs being removed from the PSN store, I was able to download the DLCs through the voucher code. I'd still love it if someone can confirm if Comrades comes in your downloads list if you redeem the voucher now. PaleoFilm42 confirmed that it is possible to get the Comrades DLC through the voucher code that comes with the physical copy of the Royal Edition. Faytelein confirmed that the digital version of the Royal Edition also gives you the Comrades expansion.

First of all, make sure you uninstall FFXV is you haven't already. Even if you haven't installed the latest patch and have Version 1.00, it's best to start from the beginning.
Install a HTTP proxy like Charles on your PC. Normally is costs $50 USD, but you can use a free trial for 30 days. Unfortunately, the trial version closes down every 30 mins and that might be annoying. However, it's still possible to do this even if Charles keeps on closing, as it won't interfere with the other steps.
Open up Charles, go to the settings (the cog on the menu bar), and click on "Proxy Settings". Then in "Proxy Settings", turn on "Enable transparent HTTP proxying". Make sure that for "Port", it is set up to "8888". It should already be preset to this. Then click on "OK" at the bottom. Keep Charles open for the rest of the method.
Now, find out what your IP address is. You can do so by opening up Command Prompt on your PC. Not sure about the procedure for Mac users (google it up and you'll find it quick), but for Windows users, press the Windows key + R, then search up "cmd". Press OK and Command Prompt will pop up. Type "ipconfig" and press Enter. A list of information will pop up. Look for the line that says IPv4 Address and remember the number listed on that line. It should be something like four numbers, each separated by a "."
Now you'll need to set up your PS4 network to go through your PC first. Normally, you have your PS4 automatically connected to your router, but now your PC will be in-between that connection. To do so, go to your PS4 Settings > Network > Set Up Internet Connection. Choose either Wi-Fi or LAN, depending on what you're using. But make sure to choose "Custom" instead of "Easy". Keep everything at "Automatic", and DHCP Host Name at "Do Not Specify", until it says "Proxy Server". For this setting, chose "Use".
You will be told to put an "Address" and a "Port Number" in. For "Address", put in your IP address you got from Command Prompt. For "Port Number", put in "8888". After choosing Next, you should have a message pop up on Charles. Accept the request so your PS4 can connect to your PC.
Now, insert the disc for FFXV and you should have the update automatically downloading. The update should be 34.620 GB, at least for the US version (This was back during the 1.27 update. The file size now should be different, but shouldn't affect anything). Keep it downloading while you do the next steps. Digital users will just start the download of the game instead.
On the "Structure" section in Charles, you should've noticed that a lot of Playstation-related URLs have popped up. Look for the one that says "http://gs2.ww.prod.dl.playstation.net". Using the "+" tab on the left side of the URL name, you can open it up and open up to its subfolders. The folder opening order should be:
- For US users: http://gs2.ww.prod.dl.playstation.net > gs2 > ppkgo > prod > CUSA01633_00 > 30 > f_.... > f
- For EU users: http://gs2.ww.prod.dl.playstation.net > gs2 > ppkgo > prod > CUSA01615_00 > 33 > f_.... > f
- For JP users: http://gs2.ww.prod.dl.playstation.net > gs2 > ppkgo > prod > CUSA01570_00 > 34 > f_.... > f
- For Asia users: http://gs2.ww.prod.dl.playstation.net > gs2 > ppkgo > prod > CUSA01706_00 > 32 > f_.... > f
- For China users: http://gs2.ww.prod.dl.playstation.net > gs2 > ppkgo > prod > CUSA04938_00 > 29 > f_.... > f
- Note: The numbered folders after the bolded-region code folders might be different for 1.28 and onwards. But the method is still the same; open up all the folders until you open the folder that's labeled as "f".
- Check the next image for a visual on how it should look like.
In the "f" folder, there should be multiple different files, but you're looking for the file that ends with .json. This method is for both physical and digital copies. The only difference with digital copies is that there will be two folders: "appkgo" and "ppkgo". As mentioned above, you're only looking for files in "ppkgo", so just ignore "appkgo" entirely.
- Note: in my picture, it says A0126 on my .json file because I already did this method. For you, it will be A0127 or higher, depending on what the newest update version is. But I've edited the picture so the structure and file location should be similar. Keep in mind that the folders won't be the exact same as this screenshot was taken when I was downloading 1.27. The instructions still remain the same: find the .json file in the "ppkgo" folder.
Right-click on the .json file and choose Map Remote (probably the second-last option in the list).
A window should pop up that says "Edit Mapping". The "Map From" should already be filled up (Query part stays empty). What you need to do is fill up the "Map To" part, which should be:
- Protocol: http
- Host: gs2.ww.prod.dl.playstation.net
- Port: 80
- Path:
- You can check your region by checking the Path in your "Map From" part. If it says somewhere "...CUSA01633_00-FINALFANTASYXV00..." then it's the US region. For EU, it would be "...CUSA01615_00-FINALFANTASYXV00..." and so on.
After you filled that up, press OK, then delete the patch that's still downloading on your PS4. On Final Fantasy XV that is installed, in the selectable options, choose "Check for Updates" and the patch will start downloading. It will still say Version 1.27 is downloading, but the file size should be different. The normal file size of 1.27 is 34.620 GB (for later versions, it's different), however, the patch that is downloading for you will be 30.043 GB. If it's 30.043 GB, then it's Version 1.26, and that means that you've successfully remapped the URLs. Digital users will delete the game that's downloading, and then redownload the game. The game should download as Version 1.26 if everything was done correctly. Note: After the release of 1.29, there's been a change in the file size. You might see a download file of 30.071 GB rather than 30.043 GB, and that's totally fine.
Let it download, and keep Charles open. If you have the trial version, Charles will close every 30 mins, which will pause your download. Don't worry, as long as you reopen Charles, it will continue from where it left off. If the download doesn't continue, pause and resume the download until it does. Whenever you pause and resume the download, the file size of the patch might decrease. Don't worry, as it's showing you how much you have left. Once the download is done, it will say the newest update has been installed, but worry not, it should be Version 1.26. To make sure, check the "Information" for FFXV, and it should say 1.26. Alternatively, you can switch back to your usual internet setup if downloading through Charles is taking too long or is too cumbersome. As Charles is only used to change the path you're downloading the game from, once the remapping is done, it should be safe to switch back to your normal setup.
Now all you need to do is install Comrades. If you have it purchased. Check your Library > Final Fantasy XV > PlayStation Store > Your Add-Ons, and you should see Comrades (7.5 GB) listed there. Download it.
Now you'll have FFXV Version 1.26 with Comrades installed. When you start up the game, the actual Version 1.27 will start downloading, so pause that download, or disconnect yourself from the internet. Now you should be able to play Comrades offline with AI.

If you find that it's not working for you, you should be able to tell where you've messed up. If you're PS4 is connected to Charles and PS4 activities appears on Charles, you've done Steps 1-7 correctly.
Even your incorrect URL mappings gets saved, so you might want to delete that. On Charles, go to Tools, then Map Remote (alternatively, you can also press Ctrl + Alt + M) and a list of mappings will appear. Click on them one-by-one and click Remove. When you're going to try the steps again, it's best to start from fresh.
If your PS4 can't connect to Charles and you're doing it via Wi-Fi, try switching to LAN and see if that works.

Credits to HusKyCode for the method and Armored Squirrel for the Version 1.26 URLs. A list of game update URLs for many games can be found here. If you want to use an older FFXV patch, or want to use this method on another game, that list should be useful. Alternatively, you can use the website here. Search for a game, choose your region, click on "View Patches & Information", click on "Older Available Patches" to choose the update you're interested in (If you don't see that option, they only have one update in their database), right-click on download and copy the link address. Change the link address by replacing anything that follows "-V0100" with .json at the end.

And just too add:

This method makes the trophies achievable. If you need proof, then you can check my profile and see that trophies are still achievable post 1.27 patch. I only played enough to earn only one trophy, but it's been done well after the closure of the Comrades mode.
These trophies are not eligible for flagging and this is a totally viable method. The thread below states "Deleting update data to use a in-game glitch or play a game on a previous version of the game is also allowed and not a flaggable offense. This includes having to update a game through use of a proxy."

Same. I have season pass, but ofc no Comrades. So I'm hoping Royal voucher would have it.

Did you buy the physical Royal Edition, or the Royal Pass off of PSN? The Royal Pass expansion does not come with Comrades, it only comes with the Season Pass. But those that bought the Season Pass may not be able to download Comrades since buying the Season Pass only makes the 3 episode DLCs and Comrades free, but not purchased. Because of this, they won't come on your Downloads list unless if you've purchased the 3 episode DLCs and Comrades (which should be free for Season Pass owners).

i just bought the royal edition, waiting for parcel from amazon, and now ive read this bad news. i want to play this game as im a fan of FF...but im also a completionist so i was already thinking of ship it back for a refund, before ive read your post, that will be also useful for mad max, another game i dont played because unottainable with latest patch. i want to try this method, ill also have to "risk" my season pass, as i will dont work, ill have to re-sell game as not-royal. i have some questions

1) after i have mapped the links, can i close charles, then open it again just a second before starting download, in order to "reset" the 30min timer? i have a fast connection, usually i download 30gb in less than 10minutes, but we know PS's are slower and dont use all bandwitch available. i just read that connecting ps4 to a pc using proxy, allows it to download at full speed but i dont know if it works. the method is identical as yours.

2) are u sure that old file versions are keeped online forever?

3) if yes, do u have older versions? i know comrades solo is hard, and got also harder with newer versions. maybe downgrading to an older version of 1.26 can be better. anyway, for those who played 1.26 solo, how many hours are needed to 100%? it all about grinding to OP or its also skill involved?

Let's see if I can find the issue here. Your PS4 is connected to Charles right? Like, whenever you download something on your PS4, it shows updates on your "Structure" section of Charles right? If it doesn't, then your PS4 isn't connected via Charles yet. If updates do appear, then it's an issue with the mapping.

Yes, the March 2018 update should also work because it came with an update prior to 1.26.

~~I'm not sure if closing Charles will still allow for it to work. I'll test it out myself with another game and see if it works.~~ I have tested it out and it does work! When you close Charles in the midst of the download, the download pretty much pauses, and reopening Charles will continue the download from the same spot. If the download doesn't continue, just pause and resume the download until it does. And the game still gets the version you asked for. I tested this with Super Meat Boy, and I'm certain it should work with everything else.
From the looks of it, games with very old updates are still available and doable. I know this method was used with 7 Days to Die for an exploit, and I'm pretty sure it was an old patch. Nothing's definite, but most likely they're kept forever.
I know that there's a list of URLs for older versions of many games here: https://xn--xce.cc/pkgWIP.txt. Find the version your interested by pressing Ctrl + F and search for "FINALFANTASYXV00" and terms "A0125" would represent 1.25 and so on. Make sure to chose the right region. I know someone that finished Comrades solo in 37 hours. The average time would be around 50 hours. Idk much about the difficulty since I haven't played much of it yet.

It's not confirmed if using the DLC code that comes with the Royal Edition will let you download Comrades. My guess is that it should, but I'll need someone to confirm that by trying it out themselves.

I think he means that you will need to check if you bought the DLC or not. And you didn't, so it won't be available for you.

I couldn't find any Korean address. However, there are only 5 different trophy lists for the game. When you follow the steps, you can find out your region in Step 11. It should be one of the 5 URLs I posted.

I checked your trophy list, and it seems to be the Asian trophy list. So it should be the same URL as the Hong Kong/Asia one.

When you set up your PS4 network, you've gotten a request on Charles, right? And Playstation-related links comes up on your structure tab? If you're using Wi-Fi, then try switching to LAN if you can.

Oh, so you've already remapped the URLs? If that's the case, then there might be something wrong with the mapping. Press Ctrl + Alt + M and you should see a list of mappings that you've done. I'd say to delete them and start from step 7 again.

Use the address of Asian version. Both Korean version and Hong Kong version are the same. They share the same ID: HP0082-CUSA01706
