Radford999 Posted November 29, 2020 Share Posted November 29, 2020 Anyone got any tips for the fight with Old King Doran in Boletarian Palace? I’m really struggling. I’ve just started my second playthrough. So naturally he will be tougher. But none of my weapons do enough damage to him. I have been using the Claymore+9 and it barely touches him. Taking off around 35 damage. At this rate i will have to hit him about 150 times before he will die. Whilst also avoiding not getting hit because he basically one hit kills me. Are there any really good strategies for him? Which weapon is the best and deals a decent amount of damage and not a pathetic 35 lol. Or are there any cheap methods? Thanks! Good_Sir_Matt_II Posted November 29, 2020 Share Posted November 29, 2020 I only know the cheese way, you'll want to lure him to the catapult area. When he reaches that area, keep on pushing him to the opposite tower (the one where you took the Cling Ring at the basement). proud2bNs Posted November 29, 2020 Share Posted November 29, 2020 Easy way: Get the cloud spells (acid cloud, death cloud, poison cloud), equip the Thief's Ring, slowly walk towards Doran until you can lock on and start casting the clouds. xh117 Posted November 30, 2020 Share Posted November 30, 2020 (edited) Morion Blade in your off hand, Old Monk Wrap, and Clever Rats Ring/Magical Sharpness ring for the big magic damage (he has no range attacks) but poison cloud works just as well. Domino_Destructo Posted November 30, 2020 Share Posted November 30, 2020 (edited) Use death cloud, then make him follow you to the catapults. Once he turns back you got some time for free backstaps before he enters the building, then he will attack until you lure him out again. You can push Doran away from the entrance and score some more hits. You can also kill him by pushing him off the stairs where the ball is rolling at you.
