ziggypossum
https://www.team17.com/games/thymesia/ The next-gen-only action-RPG Thymesia will launch its punishing combat into the hands of willing players on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on August 9 Quote STORY Times were dark, the plague and copious other diseases swept through the world. Countries exhausted method after method to try and rid their land of disease, but to no avail. One kingdom, however, found success in wielding the power of alchemy to produce antibodies. The kingdom used the antibodies to strengthen their soldiers by making them immune to disease and enhancing their natural abilities. It wasn’t before long that the kingdom became known as the most powerful in the world. Decades later, an attempt was made to try and neutralise the use of alchemy in the kingdom, but it had detrimental consequences and all the kingdoms’ soldiers mutated into horrifying monsters. The kingdom was in chaos and monsters roamed the kingdom destroying anything in their path. It’s now up to Corvus to find out what happened, but he has lost his memory. The truth can only be pieced together from his memories which he’ll have to recover while trying to hack and slash his way through a world infested with monsters. PLAGUE WEAPON SYSTEM Steal diseases from the horrifying enemies you encounter and use these as your weapon. The power of disease is the only way you’ll make it out alive in the plague-ridden, desolate kingdom so make sure you wield them wisely. BECOME THE RAVEN Morph into your raven form and devastate your enemies during battle. With feathers as sharp as a dagger and movements swift as an arrow, the power of the raven is not to be underestimated. PLAY YOUR OWN WAY Customise and enhance your basic movements and plague weapons to create your own unique playstyle. Prepare for upcoming battles and challenges in your own way. RECOVER YOUR MEMORIES Your memories are scattered all over the kingdom and it’s up to you to find them. Unearth your memories by completing challenges and adventures and stitch them together to uncover the real truth. Quote Since the release of the Dark Souls games and the subsequent release of the game Bloodborne, there has been a growing number of "Soulsborne" games in recent years. One of the new Soulsborne games coming out this year is Thymesia, developed by OverBorder Studio and published by Team17. Thymesia is an action RPG where a kingdom founded on alchemy is on the verge of collapse after the discovery of the price behind its alchemy is revealed. This leads to chaos and monstrous creatures overwhelming the kingdom. Players take on the role of an amnesiac warrior known only as Corvus, whose past holds the secrets to saving his kingdom from catastrophe. Thymesia will utilize fast-paced combat in its gameplay along with an "intricate plague weapon system," where Corvus can wield the power of disease used by the various bosses in the game against them. Corvus can also shift into a raven form, which will allow players to use his new form's feathers as daggers and quickly execute enemies. Like in most RPGs, Thymesia will allow players to upgrade Corvus, particularly his movements and plague weapons in Thymesia. This will allow players to create their own play-style in the game, so they can face whatever challenges they come across in Thymesia and choose how they do so. On top of that, a key element of Thymesia will be unlocking Corvus' memories of his past in his quest to save the kingdom. https://gamerant.com/thymesia-soulsborne-game-limited-time-demo/ Edited May 2, 2022 by ziggypossum EDIT

yowzagabowza
The fast paced combat is more my style than the whole slow and plodding combat of most souls-like games. This looks cool and I'll keep it on my wishlist until it's cheap enough for my broke ass!

I still don't see the appeal in Mortal Shell and despite owning it, i have yet to play after I've seen some mixed reviews regarding combat not feeling, hmm weighty? I guess . But if this gets a physical ill buy it anyway. Will I play it?'maybe
