Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves

A sequel to Mark of the Wolves is coming.

 

I hope it's visually up to snuff, because Mark of the Wolves is one of the best looking 2D fighters of all time. I trust SNK to get the gameplay right, but graphically their latest games haven't been great. No pressure, just a sequel to one of the greatest fighting games of all time.

I'm betting on the graphics being 3D again. I can live with that... I don't think the latest two KOF games look terrible. KOF XIV and XV have played fine, so I trust SNK there. SNK needs to bring back the TOP (Tactical Offense Position) Mode from the first one. Whenever your health bar is in the range you selected, you do more damage with all attacks and can use a special TOP move that does decent guard crush.

 

Though the news of a Garou 2 is great, I'd like to see SNK revisit some other franchises than fighters (where is a new Blazing Star?). I'm glad that they haven't had KOF get new annual installments each year.

IDC about graphics.  Is the gameplay solid?  This generation of fighting games looks promising.  Let's see if the games pan out.

I'm liking the cel-shaded look. Bring back Kain, but as a player character instead of the final boss. Let the end boss be all-new and not related to Geese... Surprise us!
