Leaving Plus Extra May 21 - stealth removal along with other THQ games

This, the Darksiders trilogy, Kingdoms of Amalur and MX vs ATV will all be leaving.

 

Does anyone know if the MP is cross play between PS4 and PS5? I’d like to self boost the MP if I can, but only have one PS5.

Based on offer expiry dates shown on the PSN store. They aren’t showing up in the Last Chance listing, but some regions are showing an end date.

Perhaps this is an error, but unless further info comes out to refute this, I think it’s likely correct.

And if you don't have Extra/Essential PS5 version, I bought it for € 11.99 (60% off) a few days ago. It should still be on sale for another 8 hours or so.

 

DLC cosmetic packs are also on sale, but not needed for the Platinum Trophy.

So, just to clarify, it's only the PS4 version of Wreckfest leaving PS+ Extra on May 21st?

No, both versions are leaving Extra. The PS5 version was one of the monthly games back in 2021, so if you redeemed it then, you’ll continue to have access after May 21 to the PS5 version (but not the 4, game isn’t cross buy). If you didn’t have Plus in 2021, or forgot to claim the PS5 version, you’ll lose access to both.

It's super easy. You could boost it yourself if you have 2 x consoles. And you still have another 7 x days. Plenty of time.

Just want to add, the MP is cross console. I used my PS4 to self boost the MP for the PS5 list. It’s very quick, and even more painless if you have both a PS4 and PS5.

Is anyone else having the same issue? After the game was removed from the PS Plus service, the access to the PS5 was also removed. Now I see that lock icon and I can't launch the game, is asking to buy it.

No I was able to download the PS5 version from the store without issue

I was unsure of this too. So, to avoid any problems, I completed both versions. But read below to clarify things for you.

If you claimed the PS5 version awhile back, you should still have access to it.

Both versions were removed, as per my post below.

I assume you did not claim the PS5 version when it was a monthly Plus Essentials game. Game is also not crossbuy, so keep that in mind if you decide to purchase either version.

I claimed the PS5 version back in the day, I guess the problem is that I also claimed the PS4 version when it was added to the Extra tier, because I wanted to get the plat from both, which I didn't :P. I posted a message to Bugbear Entertainment on twitter, I will see what they say about it.

Did you download the PS5 version through the game catalog or through your library? If you didn't download it through your library you likely overwrote your license with the extra license. It's an incredibly stupid issue Sony has not fixed but PSN support can correct it. If you have claimed a monthly essential game always make sure you download it through your library.

 

Also try restoring licenses from your settings before contacting support, that sometimes fixes things.

Just an update, I talked to a agent from PS Support and the person just told me that the game was removed from the service and now I have to buy it or wait until the game is included again in the service, sadly the agent didn't give the time to say again that the game was claimed as part of the monthly ps plus games and he terminated the conversation xD

 

Now if I want to have a new conversation with support I'm getting the message that I need to try later.

 

2nd Update. I was able to chat again with, I'm pretty sure the same person, and basically the game is lost, the access to the game was removed because it left the service, so I have to buy it again.

 

another option could be try to reach out PSN US, because I contacted via Mx webpage.

You unfortunately just have to keep trying until someone actually listens to you. I wouldn't even mention PS+ at the start. Look up the transaction ID in your email or on the PS site and just say that you can't access the game from x transaction.
