The servers for the other version are closed as of 21 June 2014. What Gearbox said was that they were migrating the servers for PC versions of Borderlands to Steamworks and they weren't sure about console versions of it as of yet. Then May 31st came and the game was still online, so I took it too mean that the game was still up and Gearbox didn't tell anybody. Everyone was saying that Gearbox said months ago they were saving it on the console and I was like "No, that's not what they said..." Turns out the actual deadline for server closures was June 21st, to give game companies time to migrate and make patches. But Gearbox or whoever is in charge of Borderlands hasn't done anything, so the game went offline the morning of the 21st. There's apparently a way to still get the one online trophy, but you have to know someone who has the trophy and can actually physically meet you in person to do a local LAN session.
