Those freeze glitches happened also because of PS3’s old system that will never be updated to fix those glitches. NYMHC is hard but an unfair challenge because of its glitches. The chapter 13 freeze bug and sometimes not loading boss fight at the end kill 3-5 hours of hardwork. If this game gets released today, everyone would’ve talked about glitches and made videos in social media. Right now of course they don’t give a damn about a game from 11 years ago.
AlexanderLykan
So now I've got some free time to try this mode again. Did 2 tries and both times the game glitched in chapter 7 just after you shoot the padlock on the door, prior to the chain pull up scene. Both times the map didn't load properly and because of that I insta died after the cutscene ended. I've read that this particular chapter can be buggy but never read about this part glitching out. Any ideas?

Didn't think much of that, but looking back now do move a lot faster than I used to trough that level. I'll definitely try that, thanks!

Popular Post dieselmanchild
The return & a New York Minute I decided awhile back that I wanted this game to be my 300th platinum. I hadn’t picked it up for quite some time, so before diving into NYM & NYMHC (my final trophies), I casually ran through the game 2x on hard mode to refamiliarize myself with everything and get my aim back. Once my practice runs were over, I decided to get serious and buckle down, not touching any other game until this was complete. I wanted to eat, sleep, and breathe Max Payne 3 and make sure my senses and reflexes were attuned to this game and this game only in preparation of NYMHC. As I ran through NYM mode, at first I was feeling extremely confident. I knew all enemy and painkiller spawns like the back of my hand. I could headshot enemies 95% of the time and I beat most chapters first try with ease. But then I arrived at Chapter 14… Now I don’t know what it was, maybe I had just been playing too long that day and my brain turned to mush, but I struggled with this chapter to a degree that was just pathetic. At first I kept failing Ch. 14 because I was running out of time, running out of ammo, running out of painkillers or even bullet time. Everything seemed to work against me. I died to stupid things half a dozen times. Then I had several runs where I’d get on the train section with like 1+ minute easily and then spend the entire minute playing peekaboo with those assholes in a way that was just comical. It’s like they would be arranged in just such a way that they would always be misaligned, pop down when I popped up to shoot them, would stagger and fall instead of dying from headshots and take like 30 seconds to reappear. It was supremely painful watching the clock run down knowing it would run out… again… Then I FINALLY got to the Becker fight but it didn’t matter, of course it was a total circus. Enemies started behaving completely differently than they had on any other run I’d been on. I saw things I’d never seen before like regular enemies throwing grenades at same time as boss, cars not exploding even though I unloaded an entire fucking clip into the engine etc. Weird stuff. I instantly died multiple times to grenades at full health. It was a damn mess. Then the funniest one of all was the first run where I finally got past Becker (probably my 3rd or 4th time reaching him at this point) and got on to the runway section, ONLY TO MISS THE FUCKING PLANE WITH THE GRENADE LAUNCHER!! Lmao. I didn’t even know this was possible!! I screamed into the abyss. When I finally completed Chapter 14 it must have taken me a good 12-15 runs. But I had unlocked the trophy for NYM. However, I was feeling a bit worried. A bit disheartened. On one hand I had just been forced to practice the hardest chapter in the game a dozen times, which could only be to my benefit, but on the other hand it caused me to imagine that same shit show unfolding every time I made it that far in NYMHC. Knowing my luck, I had probably just glimpsed a snapshot of my future runs through a crystal ball. ? I went to bed, then took a full day off to reset before jumping into NYMHC. New York Minute (Hardcore) Thank god, all that “practice” paid off in the end. It only took me 4 attempts! #1 - Died Ch. 3. Beginner’s nerves. Was playing a little too fast and rushing by a couple enemies, not picking up enough ammo etc. and putting myself in unnecessary danger. I had a feeling I was about to die. A minute later I accidentally went into LMS at the bottom of the stairs and wasn’t able to get a line on the guy who downed me. Ran out of ammo trying. #2 - Died Ch. 8. Went into LMS with the grenade launcher while running up the stairs. I never use the launcher in that spot, but got fancy for some reason and it got me killed. Oof! #3 - Died. Ch. 13. Infamous police station freeze glitch in the LMG room. I had been anticipating this glitch, but it was still devastating because the run was going absolutely perfect up to that point and I had no nerves at all. I feel like this run was on track for a success otherwise. After the freeze though, I took a break for an hour and did some research on theories for how to avoid the freeze at that spot for my next run. #4 - Success! Overall it was an excellent run, but also sort of lucky as I had two really close calls with last man standing that really should have killed me both times. Somehow I managed to survive each one. The second (and worst) was during Ch. 13. As I exited the booth to approach the heavy duty green laser guys pouring out of the elevator, I got jammed up on the doorway which caused me to come out the booth 4-5 seconds late, by which time they were positioning themselves around the room. I fired off a grenade at the elevator (usual spot which kills them all) and it only killed 2 of them rather than the entire mob. One guy suddenly pops out from the pillar 5 ft away and instakilled me with a headshot. This sent me into LMS with the grenade launcher, which is basically a guaranteed failure in 99% of situations, and it would have killed me too except I had the sudden idea to shoot the pillar which was a tiny bit closer than the floor. Because of this, the grenade actually managed to make contact and actually exploded! It happened JUST in time to revive me. A split second later and LMS window would have ran out!! That was a really hairy moment, but no problems after this though. Ch. 14 & the Becker fight went as smooth as possible so I guess all that suffering and forced “practice” I had in NYM paid off big time! ?

I always planned to come back and finish it eventually, just there’s always something else competing for my attention so weeks turned into months. Thrilled to have the platinum now but also feeling sad that it’s over tbh, I liked having the challenge to look forward to!
popxskate
# II epic fail trying to cut straight from heliport to its footbridge, Max dropped between # X mistreated by explosives, let myself encircled in the tires warehouse after a very painful episode at the gas station # III too hasty, enemy below the bleachers came to my back, LMS with not enough time to turn around w/ 2-handed weapon # I LMS yet, at the pillars (reception) with 5 painkillers in stock but not a single bullet loaded # VI crushed by the "jeep", trying eliminating all passengers when I knew to always aim the driver first & only # VI?“ too much damage with first two enemies. Last three i tried a lateral Bullet Time spraying move, Max didn't deign to shoot nor aim (bug ?) # II Giovanna caught by my "crazy pistolero state", me trying to instakill the first guy who runs behind her on the signs bridge # V?“ Fabiana's turn, really aimed well not to risk to kill her so it was a big fraud # XIII hardly "grenade killed" anyone in office, pistol shots aside, 8 bullets left for armo'guy, hesitation resulted in a fatal "grenade launcher LMS" # VI?“ too careful this time, lost even more life with the first two. Ending 2/3 instakilled, head'shot the last I swear, but so did he. # VIII tombs sniper section, from reading you it was bound to happen to me : wanted to skip one grave # WIN Trophy popped at midnight here That Twelfth run... Remembering one pistol LMS crisis moment at the start of chapter XII, some framerate slowdowns making shooting complicated in chapter XIII (had taken a little break just before launching, idk if it has any impact) and I completely missed the rocket launchers session in the parking lot. Chapter XIV went well except at the metro station : the nearest enemy suppressed on my left was still standing, moving and pointing at me without holding a weapon, c'mon !!! Final fight started very well, till ? arrived : there was no grenade thrown so I waited, then an enemy rushed on me ended up on my back ; grenade was thrown by the time I got rid of him. Systematic abusive use of painkillers and roulades allowed me to limit damages on that one. Had no more 9mm ammunition for the last remaining ground enemy, had to return to the side to get back some "machine gun"... This is how I remember it but if I had a replay, it would be less epic and much more embarrassing Had kept my last "suspended" at ? to make it pop 2 minutes later, strange habits, little wink to those who complained about "why not gold" ! I had freezes in NYM but none during my NYMHC attempts : played offline with golden guns, only one direct run per console "boot", by day (and for my sanity). 12 official attempts distanced, not counting all possible deaths learning between in SCORE ATTACK training (in small doses but as regularly as possible). For someone who hated this gameplay for so long it's not "that" bad, take me hard time to understand the mechanics and "feel" it, now i really love it !!! It was out of the question for me to engage in such torture especially since I don't have much time, but previous extreme trophies experiences made my rushing Shadows less stressful and so much FUN. My Encouragement to all those who want to achieve it ! I got the best advices to avoid bugs, freezes, easy-silly deaths by reading all of you : thank you very much Special dedication to my ? Bestie who ?? gift to me this atrocious game in 2015
KASPOWER
1. Ch. 5 – Got overconfident and made a silly mistake, bullet time shot dodge off the wooden path into the water. It seems Max can't swim. 2. Ch. 3 – Still overconfident, died whilst in LMS towards the beginning where Passos interrogates a man and four enemies enter the room. Enemy hid behind the left pillar whilst I was in LMS so no chance of getting the kill. 3. Ch. 13 – The infamous game freeze occurred just before the heavy enemy with the LMG was to enter the room. 4. Ch. 5 – Fabiana took one in the skull. Bullet went right through the enemy and took her life. Spoiler Max was left bewildered as to why so many women die around him. 5th Attempt was final, had 9 painkillers ready for the final part of the game and made it through.
