I managed to 100% Bioshock 2 on PS4 after a long pause, which resulted in an impossible situation, as I don't have nearly enough time to finish the three games I have remaining till the end of August. :/ Still achieved great progress in my opinion tho! :D

The Last Guardian collectables out the way, now for speed run, no deaths and intensive care trophies - I was really frustrated about the no spear run as last playthrough I was very cautious and somehow it didn't pop. Still looking to get the plat if it only takes a single playthrough.

Glad to be done with it, tbh. Not my favorite Atelier game. I hope Atelier Firis is better than this. :/

This will be my final entry in this thread, I guess. I know there's still a week left but I won't have much free time the next few days sadly. I miiiiiight do some preparations for the fall event.

With 4/7 completed with only one week to go I'm pretty far from reaching my goal, but I intend to do better in the fall challenge!

No big jumps out of nowhere. Finished up Logy's story last night and then fell asleep grinding to hit level 99. Whoops. I was at level 93 when I woke up so I'll just finish that up tonight. I'll then continue with NieR, got through Ending A and heading through route B now. I probably won't be finishing a lot of the games here even though I have the weekend as well as Wednesday/Thursday off from work, but I'll see how much I can get through in the next few days. Some of the games that were barely touched will probably move to the Fall Challenge.

Progress Update: Week 12

Plat'd Until Dawn this week and played through the recent PS+ game 'Level 22'.  Both were OK games, Until Dawn was a bit annoying to get the peripheral trophies.  Big push this week to see if I can get close to finishing Fallout 4.

Giving up on the last Guardian. It takes A LOT to make me rage but the speedrun/intensive care trophies are doing my head in. I think I've gone through the game without any spears hitting trico and then in one of the last segments it loads and he's got a spear tip sticking out of him. The speedrun is quite doable but sections of the game are so dull the second and third time around and it's all very plodding, especially with trico control issues (such as the double dive). Shame really because it is a beautiful game and the above issues have left a bad taste in my mouth.

Was a very tedious slog in the end but I have at last got the platinum for Lego Marvel Super Heroes.  Whilst the humour in the levels is great, going and fetching cats and other assorted things in the hub was very boring, but it's done now ?

I have also got one trophy in Back to the Future, having started the game I decided I might enjoy it more if I rewatched the films first, so did that instead of playing the game, I'll go back to the game this week.

  1. Lego Marvel Superheroes (PS4)  10% (E) > 100% (S)
  2. Jurassic Park (4 Episodes) (PS3)  0% >
  3. The Walking Dead: Season Two (PS4)  0% > 100% (S)
  4. Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars (PS3)  0% >
  5. Back to the Future (PS4)  0% > 1% (E)
  6. Batman: Arkham VR (PS4 VR)  23% (D) > 28% (C)

I have managed to finish another game that has been on my backlog for almost 6 years:

Rogue Warrior 11% -> 100%

I found the music interesting but repetitive, graphics and controls excellent, but the extreme unceasing vulgar dialog to be horribly distasteful that after finishing the first mission I tossed it aside. In the intervening years, I forgot why I never finished it. Moments after starting over, I realized what the problem was. This time however, I was diligent enough to determine that there Options settings allowed for customizing volume on both music and speak. After setting both to 0 level, the game became enjoyable. If anyone still has this on their backlog or wants an quick inexpensive shooter, I recommend jumping on this before the mp servers go down. Consider yourself warned regarding dialog however.

OK. Regarding my summer nemesis, Epic Mickey. I started over for the umpteenth time this morning. If I can't get past the point that has me stuck, I will have to accept that this one will join the legion of games that I can't do but that others seem to have no challenge doing.

Atelier was finished after grinding to combat level 99 last week. I've been working on finishing NieR: Automata before the end of August so I'll hopefully get that done by tomorrow.

As for the rest of the games, I made zero progress on the PS3 games so I just removed the system for the fall, and moved forward Aegis of Earth, Bastion, and Gravity Rush 2. Also, since I finished Atelier Escha & Logy Plus during the summer I placed Atelier Shallie Plus on the fall list to continue the series. I might add some of the other games I didn't finish here as I finish the games I put on the Fall list.

Back to the Future (PS4)  0% > 100% (S)

I've finished Back to the Future, I'm glad I rewatched the movies as the game was absolutely spot on with the style of the movies and proved to be a great extension to the overall story.  Having Doc played by Christopher Lloyd added to the immersion as did having someone who sounded just like Michael J Fox back in the movies, his cameo was a cool touch too.

I can see why Telltale has had greater success with the 'interactive movie' approach than their old 'puzzle and luck' approach, whilst I would love to see more puzzles in their current output, I'm glad they have dropped the 'choose the correct dialogue option or miss a trophy' or even worse 'interact with the same random object in between every single piece of dialogue or miss another trophy' that this game was full of.  Unless you want to do a second play through you have no choice but to follow a guide, and once you start doing that it's difficult not to just play past all the puzzles without trying rather than solve them with experimentation.

Thankfully the story was so well done that I didn't mind having the puzzles spoiled for me, but in an ideal world Telltale would keep their current choices driven story approach but with an increased sprinkling of non-guide requiring puzzles.

  1. Lego Marvel Superheroes (PS4)  10% (E) > 100% (S)
  2. Jurassic Park (4 Episodes) (PS3)  0% >
  3. The Walking Dead: Season Two (PS4)  0% > 100% (S)

  5. Back to the Future (PS4)  0% > 100% (S)

Batman: Arkham VR (PS4 VR)  23% (D) > 100% (S)

I've now gone back and done all the riddler secrets and other miscellaneous trophies to complete Batman Arkham VR, even though the game is short it made very good use of the VR system, the point at which you find yourself creeping to the edge of a ledge when in reality you have 6 feet of living room floor in front of you means you are pretty well immersed in the game.  I won't be delete it any time soon as it's the best game to show off VR to visitors.

Now onto Jurassic Park, deadlines approaching!

  1. Lego Marvel Superheroes (PS4)  10% (E) > 100% (S)
  2. Jurassic Park (4 Episodes) (PS3)  0% >
  3. The Walking Dead: Season Two (PS4)  0% > 100% (S)
  4. Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars (PS3)  0% >
  5. Back to the Future (PS4)  0% > 100% (S)

Jurassic Park (4 Episodes) (PS3)  0% > 100% (S)

Jurassic Park is finished, I felt it was probably the worst Telltale game from a story perspective, instead it was a foray into excessive quick time events, with lots of trophies earned by not making any mistakes on the QTEs (although you can reload partway through if you fail during your initial play through, but curiously not if you use chapter select).

That's three complete games in the last two days getting me up to five for the event, a total of eight new S ranks courtesy of the four part Jurassic Park.  I'll carry Lego Star Wars into the Autumn event.

  1. Lego Marvel Superheroes (PS4)  10% (E) > 100% (S)
  2. Jurassic Park (4 Episodes) (PS3)  0% > 100% (S)
  3. The Walking Dead: Season Two (PS4)  0% > 100% (S)
