One of the things I always loved about Gran Turismo was the ability to race in almost anything.  You want a 1960's mustang, sure.  How about a 1980's VW bug, why not? I was very much looking forward to this game, but this list has put a huge damper on my excitement.  I mean I went from buying it day 1, to now I have to wait for reviews on it.  I do have the beta demo on my system right now, so maybe I will change my mind after playing it for a bit, but I will forever be disappointed with that car list...

My real life car is the BRZ but I guess I can settle for the Toyota 86, as it is essentially the same car.  But I agree, It would be nice to drive all the Evos, the STIs, some of the old american muscle cars.  I always enjoyed getting to fill my garage with a huge variety of cars from all eras, and now almost every car here is from within the last 10 years.

That being said, if you are interested in this game.  There is a full demo on the store right now that is open until the 12th, I recommend you take the chance to try it out.  You can even get some gift cars that you can take to the full game when it comes out.

I've said this in another thread as well.

I was very excited for this one, GT is one of my alltime favourite franchises and the Sim-racing franchise that is available on the Playstation.

So for this game i expected the usual GT experience, massive amount of cars, big single player mode and that is supported with a big online function that also has online events to compete with others in time trials for example.

But this game has a much smaller (still quite big with 177 cars i believe) car list. But my big disappointment for this game is that it will have NO single player career. The only single player content will be the license tests we had earlier, they will function as a sort of tutorial to jump in the online mode. This game will be almost all online and will focus on esports. According to a lot of articles on the internet and youtube vids, also according to the developer itself

That's sad, but almost easy to understand. Most of cars in previous GT were nothing about autosport, right now GT is fully focused on current and actual generation to bring competitive challenges. I bet there will be more cars, may be in DLC's, may be they will bring back at least all 90's retro motorsport league.

Anyway there's the occasion for excitement, Porsche finally came back home - to the race track in normal simulator game series.

True, according to demo there are only traditional driving school, some missions and Arcade mode for singleplayer.

Just reminded that indeed, i also read that with all the DLC they will be releasing which will be free if i remembered correctly. The total car count will reach 600 or so. So still enough cars to enjoy

Hmm, if that is true, and there will be free DLC to increase the car count and give me some classic cars to race around in, maybe I will consider this.  But still not likely a day 1 especially since I am not good enough at racing games to only be able to race other players.

If look at game mechanic there seems to be grinding for them, as you can now buy not only by credits, also there is mileage exchange system and right now it has two DLC cars available to obtain. So I guess the way to microtransactions:). I also heard for constructive manufacture driving you can receive exclusive cars directly designed by it's manufacture.

I wasn't putting my hopes to high after GT6 (got desapointed by how the carrear mode was handled, and I'm particular against rubber band AI..) and this game is still able to desapoint me further with the usual fake car count.. really, tons of cars ars just different specs of others + several of them aren't even real concepts, just software created and then they even put several different specs on them (VGT cars and the several different "versions" of said cars). And then there's no classic cars at all.. hell, is there even a single car of last decade in the game? That great variety of auto story was something that defined the series (and I remenber Kazunori saying that he wanted the series to be a museum for said Story around GT5.. obviously he changed the route of the series to where the racing money is and forgot about the players..)

It's quite sad :(

And on top of that, if I'm not wrong we lost all fantasy tracks (so no Deep Forest, Trial Mountain, Tokyo or SSR5/11), yes we got more real tracks, but cutting all classic tracks makes me feel really sad about it.

PS: I shouldn't need to add this, but ya that's my take on this "game" and the series. And this is actually the 1st time that I'm dropping a series that I consider as a main one for me (the others are Tekken, Disgaea, Final Fantasy, Persona/SMT Universe), some of those series desapointed me in the past, but I always returned to them and bought the latest games at release, but this GT game is something that I'm thinking in getting only if I can find a steelbook edition for 30€ or less (I collect those, and actually I like the GT Sports Steelbook art).

Actually too early to panic about diversity in this GT, I guess there will be a long way like with gta online, just look what is was at launch and what content it had, and now. The same likely be here and it's better than 600 cars in GT6 where 100 are normal textured exterior\interior, 200 where normally looking only exterior and dark room cockpit and the rest just piece of low res. shit that looks like this:

Also wanted to say, after reading all those negative complaining about GTS launch, especially about cars and compares with Forza. I dunno may be some people are don't know, but regulations with Esport now in FIA hands, that means they ruling this event. FIA not supporting retro and etc. racing, so be it, not suppose to happen they allow it in general.

Since GTS doesn't have offline events there is no use for those cars apart from main tournaments. Then unlikely something else would be added so far.

The only mystery here is Audi Sport quattro S1 Pikes Peak, no idea what is it doing there and for what.
