Popular Post Mesopithecus
#230. Tesla vs Lovecraft Oh hey look...I finally took a small break from Genshin Impact to earn a platinum...yay me! Now I'm 80% certain I saw this recommended on an older Gaming by Numbers event but I have no idea who played it and reviewed it to be able to give a thank you shout out (my bad because this game is great) Now, don't be put off by the relatively high rarity as this game doesn't necessarily fall into the ezpz territory, as the highest difficulty can get pretty tough. At its core, this game is a really fun twin-stick shooter where you complete three worlds of difficulties referred to as "planes", during each run you get different abilities and perks you can choose from, different weapons and abilities. You can also earn/farm aether crystals from daily missions and reaching different tiers of enemy kills, these can be used to unlock some more permanent upgrades - like increased amount of teleports or graphine alloy for your mech. Now one of the downsides is that it can get a bit repetitive after a while (and make your thumbs ache if you're old like me) but I ended up spreading this out over a longer time, doing a few levels each day. Therefore I definitely recommend this as a game that can be easily picked up and put down. Otherwise I'd say the platinum takes around 12-15 hours. I hope everyone who reads this is doing well today, in both their trophy hunting journey and day-to-day life!! ....and it's back to Genshin I go!
Popular Post Mesopithecus
Ooooh boy am I a terrible, neglectful checklist owner Things got kind of busy for a while with studying (I'm doing an Individual Tax Fundamentals Course which is pretty mentally intensive), I was going to PT twice a week, and other real life responsibilities. Oh and Genshin, lots and lots of Genshin. I have to admit I had about a month in there where I considered quitting trophy hunting entirely, but ultimately it's something I do enjoy a lot. So, I did complete a few games since my last update that I will try to talk a little bit about below. I played SOMA for a Halloween Event on the Coffee Cove Discord server and the story ended up being pretty intriguing. I liked the setting of this too, gave me some Bioshock-esque vibes. It did fall into the same category Amnesia: Dark Descent in that it triggered some motion sickness for me whilst playing, but no where near as bad as Amnesia. Easily finished in an afternoon, I'd recommend checking it out for the story. #231. Scarlet Nexus My husband bought me this game for my birthday on a whim and it ended up being such a huge hit for me. Whilst I enjoyed the story, the combat is where the game really shined - it's an Action RPG where you use telekinesis powers to basically pick up items and throw them at enemies, and it felt smooth. You can also link up with other party members and use their skills, so it was fun combining effects. Definitely one of my top games this year #232. Shining Resonance Refrain I have nothing positive to say about this game other than I'm glad it's over ----- Other than that, I'm still playing and enjoying Genshin....it's my cozy, comfort game I play to unwind after studying. I also started Hades but it hasn't really grabbed me. I hope everyone else is doing wonderfully in their trophy and real life journeys!

Mesopithecus
December has been looking like my best trophy month for a long time! #233. Saints Row: Gat out of Hell This was so out of the norm from what I usually play - after promising a friend of mine I'd help them with the co-op trophy for about 8 months and calling off a handful of times, we finally managed to get time for this just before Christmas! I feel like I got a huge head start on this, as they had already finished all of the content except for the 3 hour co-op trophy so they helped me massively by farming money and doing some of the challenges. Initially I wasn't overly enthused about the game, especially getting used to the flying and unceremoniously falling into the lava several times, but once I did get the hang of it, it was actually pretty fun flying around. The story is pretty short and a lot of the game is doing challenges, which is basically doing all the activities, getting kills with weapons and abilities etc. It was actually alright to switch off and mindlessly farm, but I think it was the right length for a game like this - any longer and the tedium would have set in. Now I've not played any of the main line Saints Row games to compare this to, but it has made me want to give them a try! Always nice to step out of the comfort zone and find something relatively enjoyable -------- I hope everyone reading this had a wonderful holiday season!
Popular Post Mesopithecus
I am as terrible as I expected at keeping this updated, but I'm going to try and give a recap of everything I've gotten finished the past couple of months. It's been a pretty solid start to the year for me, as I've played some awesome games. #234. Fallen Legion: Flames of Rebellion This had been in my incomplete pile for a while and I finally got around to finishing it during the winter tag event, it actually took me by surprise how much fun I had with it, despite the fact it was a lot of button mashing that made my shoulder ache. It's kind of a side scroll RPG with a pretty decent story to go along with it. The only downside is the game needed multiple playthroughs for the different trophies, but once you unlocked the characters then they are available permanently and you don't need to unlock them again in further runs, it actually helps as it makes those next runs easier. Once I reached one life mode, I ended up breezing through without dying (although you can back up your save to cloud if you're worried) It's been free on PS+ so I definitely recommend giving it a try, there is an excellent guide over on PST if you're worried about missables. 100% Genshin Impact Well, this is 100% for now until they add more trophies (which I expect will happen during the Chasm update) I absolutely adore this game and I'm so thankful for a friend of mine convincing me to play. I was always apprehensive to start primarily due to the gacha mechanic and thinking you need to spend real money, but that's not the case at all - I've managed to get all the characters I wanted (except one) just by playing the game normally and earning primos from events. I'm closing in on 1,000 hours played according to Exophase and I don't plan on setting this aside any time soon as I'm still getting a lot of enjoyment out of it. #235. Cris Tales One of the Christmas presents I got from my husband, the art style for this game is thoroughly charming - it's a turn-based JRPG with what could have been a super interesting battle system, but sadly there is a mechanic in the game that gets woefully underused. I still enjoyed my time with it though, I loved the characters and the story - even if it does get pretty drawn out at the end (but let's face it, which RPG doesn't?) 100% King's Quest I love old school adventure puzzle games and I hadn't played one in a long time. A good friend of mine gifted me some PSN funds for Christmas and I picked this up. I disliked absolutely nothing about it (even chapter 2 wasn't too terrible, despite being the weakest) The puzzles and the narration were just exceptional. #236. Persona 5 Strikers I'm glad we got this on PS+ but I was super apprehensive about starting it, as although I love the Persona games I've played, I have disliked the other musou spin-offs I've tried (Dragon Quest Heroes and Warriors All-Stars) Aside from the grind though, I actually thoroughly enjoyed this - especially some of the new character additions #237. Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth This was another one off my incomplete games list and it honestly just made me feel exhausted - it's a strategy based JRPG with a heavy VN aspect. Whilst the main story part was fine, and I liked some of the changes they had made to the battle system from Mask of Deception, the dream battle stages turned into an RNG nightmare trying to get codex/skills to drop - one supposed 30% drop item took me 26 retries of a stage to obtain, and the stages are not quick to complete either. There is an infinite turns exploit you can use with two particular characters and I had resolved not to use that and to play the game as legitimately as possible, but after that point I decided to go back to an easier stage and grind out a bunch of battle points to level up my characters and put that exploit to good use....it was worth it. Currently Playing So, now we're all caught up with my completions I'm currently playing Horizon Forbidden West and Tales of Arise, although the latter is on hold until I've finished Horizon. Even though the trophy list for Horizon is a bit...bare bones...I'm intending on trying to get 100% completion on my save file. I'm having a great time with it though and even though I'm playing the PS4 version, it has been absolutely gorgeous - one of the best looking games I've seen on that console. Tales of Arise was also going pretty well, I was closing in on the end of the story but just ran out of time before Horizon released - hope to get back to this during March

Mesopithecus
#238. Chicken Police Do you like gritty cop-noir adventures that are filled with animal puns? If yes, then this is absolutely a game for you. If no, then go play this anyway, because it is absolutely fantastic and it's almost criminal that so few people have played it. At it's core, Chicken Police is a point and click adventure, that will take around 5-6 hours to complete if you don't skip text or scenes - which I suggest not skipping a thing because you'll only be missing out. This game is atmospheric, funny, fantastic visuals, fantastic writing, amazing voice acting and a great soundtrack - definitely one of those indie gems that comes along and takes you by surprise. It's on PSNow right now, so I urge everyone to go play it. @gruffiiti Tagging you here as I know you said that this was on your radar
gruffiiti
@Mesopithecus This just confirms my "spidey sense" is still active when it comes to checking out new games. I shall have to get to it soon. Thanks for the tag!
Popular Post Mesopithecus
#239. Horizon: Forbidden West 85 hours of pure enjoyment, and managed to get 100% on my save file - even though toward the end I did start to feel a bit fatigued. I loved the first game, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Forbidden West. I will say though this isn't a 10/10 game and there were things about it that I'm a bit eh on - like there were aspects of the story that I felt were a bit rushed, and I wasn't a huge fan of some of the side content like Machine Strike or the Melee Pits, but overall this game is a solid 8 for me. Considering I played on the PS4 Pro, the game looked gorgeous - one of the best I've seen, and there were very minimal bugs or glitches. I'm very happy I played it and I look forward to any DLC and an inevitable third installment.

Mesopithecus
#240. Tales of Arise The second Tales game I've played and this one is definitely much much easier than my first foray into the series (which was with Tales of Symphonia) I enjoyed my time with it, the story was decent up to a certain point, the gameplay was fun and the grind wasn't horrible. It looked good, it played good and I liked all of the characters. I had intended on finishing this before Horizon Forbidden West came out but honestly, I'm glad I ended up breaking the game up a bit. I think this took me 67 hours in total which is actually pretty short for a JRPG (and I'm sure some of that was also idle time) I really want to make some time to work on the Tales series, as I own them all except for Xillia 2. As for what's next? I'm thinking a couple of shorter games, and then going back to Final Fantasy 7 Remake which I played for all of 33 minutes when I was loading up a bunch of games to kill my completion last year.
Popular Post Mesopithecus
#241. Carto I was in the mood this afternoon for something chilled out and bite-sized to help breakup the dullness of FFVIIR - Carto fit the bill and it's an absolute treat, reminding me of how some shorter game experiences can be truly lovely. It has no boss battles or enemies, you can't die - it's pretty much a cartography/map puzzle game and it's very good, impossible to hate even. I picked it up on sale for $10 and I'd say it was worth it for the fun I had with it

Popular Post Mesopithecus
Thought I'd drop in an update today before I start falling behind a bit too much again I've shifted focus a little bit to some shorter, easier games due to some upcoming real life changes (I've had a job offer for an amazing role, but I'm just waiting for all the paperwork to be processed through HR) I think once I've started that, a lot of games I play will fall into around the 40-50 hour bracket, but mostly 25 hours and under....you won't see me dipping into stuff like Breakthrough though as they are absolutely not the kind of thing I want to play. #242. Candle: The Power of the Flame Now I actually had a false start with this game where I tried it, and then deleted it because initially I felt like the platforming aspect was very clunky. On giving it a second chance, I can say this is quite an endearing puzzle platformer, the watercolor design of the levels is magnificent and it's narrated by Terry Wilton - who also narrates the Trine series of games. You could easily finish in around 10 hours, and I will say it's not worth $19.99 at full price, but I picked this up on sale for $1.99 and it was definitely good value. #243. The Talos Principle I want to rave about how fantastic this game is, it's a narrative based puzzle game that lets you play in either first or third person - this was a hit immediately for me as a lot of first person games I've tried lately have given me motion sickness. Now I started this originally around 12 months ago as part of a mass effort to kill my completion, so I'm glad to have picked this up again recently and played right through. The puzzles are actually quite challenging - especially in the DLC area - and require you to sometimes think outside of the box. I had a great time with this game though and I'm excited for if they release Talos Principle 2. #244. The Shady Part of Me Another puzzle game that I grabbed on a whim in the recent indie sale, whilst the puzzles are actually pretty decent and the art style is nice, the voice acting is pretty bad and actually almost ruins the overall vibe of the story. That being said, it was worth the $5 I spent for it. #245. A Short Hike It's always so easy to write off high trophy rarity games as being "trophy trash" but A Short Hike is actually a little gem, especially if you want a relaxing gaming experience. It's one of those games like Carto that is very difficult to hate due to the cute aesthetic and dynamic music. Whilst playing, it actually gave me Animal Crossing vibes and I ended up making the platinum trophy my #10,000 trophy milestone As for what kind of game it is, it's a little exploration game about hiking up a mountain. That just about wraps up the update for now, I should probably write a little about Bear With Me as I technically have the platinum already, but I'd like to finish the DLC first as that seems to be bigger than the main part of the game!
Popular Post Mesopithecus
I've fallen behind a little bit on updates, but April has been another bumper month for platinum trophies! #246. Bear With Me I picked this up on sale when I was looking for some short but decent games to play, this is a detective point and click adventure game but it's kind of weird in that the platinum part is the shorter story but the DLC seems like it should've been the main game. Overall, this was just...OK, the point and click aspect felt very clunky and the story was fine but not very memorable. #247. SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom I had zero nostalgia for this, so I went into it with a fairly open mind (and the need for something mindless I could play whilst I waited for my job onboarding to be done) I actually enjoyed it, despite being fairly collectible heavy. I used optinooby's excellent guide to keep track of collectibles. #248. Tokyo Dark: Remembrance Typically, I am terrible with visual novels. I start them with good intentions and then end up skipping a lot of the text - especially when it comes to Otomes. However I think I need more horror VNs in my life as I really enjoyed this and didn't skip the text until my second playthrough and even then I still ended up reading a lot, just because I thought it was really intriguing. So what's next? Not much is happening right now if I'm honest. I started a new job this week after not working for 7 years, so I'm getting back into a routine - at the moment gaming wise I have time for my Genshin stuff, and then I'm tired and ready to sleep. Obviously that will change as I get used to the routine a lot more, but for now most of my gaming is Genshin in the week and then whatever at the weekend (currently that whatever is I am Setsuna)

Mesopithecus
Oops, not posted an update on this thread since starting my new job *checks notes* 8 weeks ago. It's going well, I'm mostly too tired and busy with other things in the evening to play very much outside of doing my usual Genshin Impact daily content. I feel like I've managed to get a decent number of plats though during the weekends, mostly from indie games (and quite a few with not so many game owners) Below is just a brief write-up of the platinum's I've gotten over the past few weeks. #249. I Am Setsuna I'd heard a lot of negativity about this game, mostly people saying it was boring, but you know....I kind of liked it. The story reminded me of Final Fantasy X/Tales of Symphonia, and I liked that the battle system could be as simple or complex as you wanted it to be (depending on if you worked on getting specific fluxations on skills) I actually recently purchased Lost Sphear based on how much I enjoyed this. #250. Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising This had mostly gone under my radar, but a few people posting about it in the RPG Mania thread made me pick it up. It was decent fun, if not a bit repetitive toward the end - I really enjoyed the art style, and I'm looking forward to Hundred Heroes now which is meant to be out next year #251. Sakuna: of Rice and Ruin I adored absolutely everything about this game, I loved the rice farming and the exploration/combat was so much fun. It had been on my radar for a while and it just happened that Golden Week sale coincided with my first paycheck...so I grabbed this up #252. Creaks I purchased this game on a whim, because it looked pretty interesting, and was from the makers of Machinarium. It's really quite good! It's an immersive puzzle platformer, where each screen has a puzzle to solve to get to the end. #253. Sea of Solitude I played this for Grave's mental health event, and whilst the story was pretty emotive and intriguing, I wasn't all that enamored by the gameplay. Definitely prefer something like RIme to this. #254. Figment So, I bought this game for $2.19 on a bundle, entirely on a whim because I thought the art design looked pretty cool. If you haven't already, go check out Cass and Briste's checklists and their reviews for this....and then go buy this game as it's on sale again right now for $2 #255. My Brother Rabbit It had been quite a while since I played an Artifex Mundi game and this scratched that itch. Nothing much to say really, it was pretty standard for an Artifex game #256. Lost Words: Beyond the Page This game is an absolute gem, a platformer that is a mix of diary/journal pages and a fantasy story. Overall, relatively simple but with a beautiful design and a heartbreaking story #257. Inspector Waffles Only 92 owners, so was it worth it? Kind of, yeah. It's a point and click adventure game, and it makes a nod to Chicken Police with cameos from the characters. The graphics are not really anything to write home about, but the story is actually decent #258. Beyond the Frame Well...you can tell I've definitely been on a point and click binge. This one is based all around art and was absolutely fine for what it is. Probably recommend waiting for a sale though if you're interested in this one 259. Choice of Life: Middle Ages Impulse buy to help beat an opponent in trophy hunters league, it was actually alright for $5. Basically a choice and consequence game where you progress through different roles. What was great is that you can jump easily to any of the previous roles to pick different decisions for the titles in the game. 260. Wytchwood Another one of my new favorites, with less than 100 game owners. Wytchwood is all about gathering and crafting whilst telling a brilliant story based on gothic fables and fairytales -------- OK, so that quickly summarizes everything I've played the past weeks I've also bought way too many games recently so my backlog is a bit um...out of control, and it's probably going to only get worse with the new PS+ service going live. Editing to add: I also finished up the new Bugsnax DLC (which I loved!) and finally got around do doing the Conan Exiles DLC thinking I'd be getting my incomplete games down....and then Horizon added DLC, not sure when I'll get around to that Edited June 11, 2022 by Mesopithecus
Popular Post Mesopithecus
Since working and not having as much time to game, I’ve been interested in finding short indie games with not many game owners. That way I hopefully get to play an awesome game whilst also supporting a small developer. For most part, by short games I mean less than 10 hours but more than 1 hour – for example I don’t foresee myself ever playing Breakthrough, Animal Letter, Jumping Food or Break games. Anything that can be finished in under 10-20 minutes just doesn’t seem worthwhile to me.I’m aware that playing something with so few owners comes with a risk – is this game a hidden gem, or an absolute stinker? That’s what I’m on a journey to find out. That being said, let’s take a look at some of the things I’ve been playing lately. Disclaimer: Not all of these games will be indie, or unknown. #261: VA11-Hall-AI recall a lot of people giving this game rave reviews, and it was recommended to me after I enjoyed 2064 ROM as much as I did. I was already won over by the opening screen which told me the game was a relaxing experience and to grab snacks. It definitely delivered on the relaxing experience – part visual novel and part bar tending game, the story and characters were engaging and I enjoyed mixing drinks. The only aspect I could have done without is the arcade game, I dislike it immensely when something like this gets added into an otherwise chill game. Overall though, I enjoyed this experience and the nods to some other games (like 2064) were brilliantly done. What now follows are my weekend antics, mostly the things we do to try and win trophy events (TL;DR I lost by like 9 points) #262. Cinders - 181 game ownersCinders is a visual novel based upon the story of Cinderella. Aesthetic wise, it’s very stylish and looks similar to an Artifex Mundi game, the story and music are both pretty good. Probably one of my better picks out of all the games I played over the weekend. It loses a couple of points for me as I had some crashing issues with a couple of my partial playthroughs, meaning I had to do the story in full again a couple more times. I’d say this is a gem, but it falls more on the average side. 3/5 Gems #263. Merrily Perrily - 90 game ownersMerrily Perrily is an adventure game, where you are inflicted with different ailments and have to “cure” them by picking up other ailments, or crisis as the game calls them. To give you an example, you start the game dehydrated and you go to the church and drink holy water, so now you’re inflicted with faith, well naturally bees hate faith so as soon as you leave the church you are inflicted with bees. So you take the bees down to a gypsy lady who hexes you….and so on. It’s not implemented very well, and the trophies are an absolute hot mess where often they won’t unlock and you have to close the game and re-open it and do the requirements over again. This game falls into the stinker category and is not worth the couple of dollars I spent on it. 5/5 Stinker #264. Circuits - 375 game ownersCircuits is a music/grid based game, you are given a grid and a short song, and then you have to fit the notes into the right places. You can’t just watch a video guide on this either, as the order of the notes you’re given along the bottom of your screen are randomized. There are only 25 levels so it’s not too terrible, I was stuck on level 23 for a while though due to very similar sounding notes. This was pretty tough for me too as I have some partial deafness in my right ear, so hearing some of the tones in the notes was a challenge. This was another game I spent like $2 on, and it wasn’t horrible – it just didn’t stand out either way as a gem or a stinker. 1/5 Gem, 1/5 Stinker #265. Mythic Ocean - 55 game ownersI feel like I zoned out completely playing this and I couldn’t even tell you what it’s about if I tried. The one thing I can say though is that it was a motion sickness simulator – glad it only took an hour or so to platinum. It’s not a stinker in the same way that Merrily Perrily was, it’s just very unmemorable. 2/5 Stinker #266. Dandy and Randy DX - 62 game ownersOr is it Randy and Dandy? This is one of those rare Ratalaika games that you have to completely finish and has less than 50 achievers….I know I’m just as shocked as you are. So Dandy and Randy is a Legend of Zelda clone, and it’s absolutely fine for what it is but it doesn’t bring any new ideas to the table. That being said, I actually had fun playing this and out of the few Ratalaika games I have played, I’d say this is one of the good ones. 2/5 Gem #267. Hidden Shapes: Animals + Lovely Cats - 422 game ownersThis is a puzzle game where you are given a jumbled up image and you have to rotate the pieces to create the picture. I am a sucker for things like this and I really liked it, the concept is very simple but it’s fun watching the pictures come together. Also the cats were indeed lovely. This isn’t one of those absolutely amazing gems, but it’s still a very relaxing game to play on a Sunday afternoon. 3/5 GemsInto a Dream – 100% - 66 game ownersSuper depressing story, with janky controls and even worse voice acting. Will give this one a 2/5 Stinker rating. Please note that my ratings above are just completely arbitrary and what I just plucked out of the air.I am also currently working on Spiderman Miles Morales (which I am looking forward to going back to) and I have an indie on deck this week called Minute of Islands which I intend on dipping my toes into. It looks like Adventure Time meets Spiritfarer so I hope it doesn’t disappoint. I keep intending on going back to some of my incomplete games but there is definitely a lack of motivation there, especially with new shiny games from sales and from the PS+ Premium upgrade. Thanks to anyone who bothers to read my thoughts on stuff, even though my checklist doesn't see much traffic, it's pretty nice to write my thoughts down.
rjkclarke
You've been on an absolute tear lately with these Meso! Congrats! I really enjoyed reading these too... I won't comment on every single one or I'd be here all night. It also gave me a good idea of a few to potentially avoid that might have had half an eye on 10 minutes ago, Mesopithecus said: #261: VA11-Hall-A I'm so glad that you enjoyed this one too! This game really deserves every bit of love that comes its way, it was one of my most favourite games that I played last year. It's funny actually, you and I have exactly the same complaint about it, and that's that damn arcade game. Why did that need to be there at all, it's only barely relevant to anything that ever gets discussed in the game. I don't want to call it a difficulty spike, but for a game that is so chilled out to then require something that required extreme concentration (or it did for me ?) really baffled me! Other than that, yes I really loved that game, so as I said super happy to read you had a mostly good time with it too. One of my friends was playing a game that also had Jill from this in it recently, so I'll have to ask him what it was, and I'll see if it's something that might interest you too. 16 minutes ago, Mesopithecus said: #263. Merrily Perrily - 90 game owners That's a real shame that this one turned out to be a real dud for you. It sounds good on paper, but it doesn't look like it actually does anything much with that potential. When you first started describing it I was sort of imagining those long winded quest chains you get in RPG's where you give someone an item, they give you a different one which then you have to give someone else, so on and so forth. I think that wouldn't be a terrible concept for a game. Unfortunately Merrily Perrily just sounds like a nuisance instead of something that could have been a great time! 19 minutes ago, Mesopithecus said: #267. Hidden Shapes: Animals + Lovely Cats - 422 game owners I was just looking at this very recently, as something that I really liked the look of. It does seem like the perfect thing to just relax and have a nice peaceful time with. I believe it might still be on sale, so I might have to go and pick it up, thanks for highlighting this one! I suspect I'll be thanking you again in the near future for it! I would have recommended you play the Glass Masquerade games, but you already have so I don't need to ? 22 minutes ago, Mesopithecus said: Thanks to anyone who bothers to read my thoughts on stuff, even though my checklist doesn't see much traffic, it's pretty nice to write my thoughts down. Well it absolutely deserves to get some! I'm glad you're still having fun writing your thoughts down, that's great to read (I hope that doesn't sound really patronising like it did when I read that back). People should be reading at this awesome place of yours! Who doesn't like reading about awesome games that they might have had no idea of otherwise.

This game really deserves every bit of love that comes its way, it was one of my most favourite games that I played last year. It's funny actually, you and I have exactly the same complaint about it, and that's that damn arcade game. I'm almost 100% certain you were one of the people who recommended VA11-Hall-A to me, so I definitely appreciate that. I bought Coffee Talk recently too as I believe that has a similar vibe. 21 hours ago, rjkclarke said: I was just looking at this very recently, as something that I really liked the look of. It does seem like the perfect thing to just relax and have a nice peaceful time with. I believe it might still be on sale, so I might have to go and pick it up, thanks for highlighting this one! I suspect I'll be thanking you again in the near future for it! I would have recommended you play the Glass Masquerade games, but you already have so I don't need to I think even not on sale, it's only like $3.99 so not bad at all. Definitely play with sound as the ambient noise is very relaxing, especially for the animals part. I loved the Glass Masquerade games, also very relaxing

Haha, I did go a bit mad recommending that to people, and still will, because I think as many people as possible should get to experience it. I'm looking forward to reading what you've got to say about Coffee Talk actually, I'd heard it was a similar vibe too, but for some reason I haven't quite picked that one up yet! I'm sure I will do though. 21 minutes ago, Mesopithecus said: I think even not on sale, it's only like $3.99 so not bad at all. I appreciate the tip about the sound as well, I can definitely get on board with some calming ambient sound in puzzle games. They were really good those Glass Masquerade games, weren't they. I quite liked the shift between the first and the second game, especially the fact that in the second one the pieces weren't rotated into their default positions, so it feels like a much truer sort of "Jigsaw" experience.

Popular Post Mesopithecus
Surprise!! I finished something that isn't a weird indie that next to no one has heard of #268. Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales As a long time PSNow subscriber, I was pretty hyped for the new service upgrade, especially when I saw that Miles Morales was one of the games on there. Funnily enough I played Spider-Man through the service also when it was on like a year or two ago. I had such a good time with this game, loved the story and gameplay and I get such a kick from just swinging around the city. I honestly preferred Miles over Peter Parker, plus I thought some of the changes they made were so much better....like the crimes being found through the app, and I thought the new powers were interesting. Nothing even really too difficult about this game either so it was something very chill for me to play in the evenings after work
Mesopithecus
And I'm back again, this time with a game that only has 72 owners.... #269. Minute of Islands I will admit, this game was purely an impulse buy on one of the most recent sales as I loved the look of the art style....and I can confirm that is truly the highlight of the game. It reminded me of something akin to Adventure Time meets Spiritfarer. I will say, I did enjoy this game but it felt really really slow due to being heavy on the narrative to the point where you would take a few steps and everything would stop whilst you heard a bit more of the story. The story itself was actually pretty good but definitely very heavy, there is even a warning at the start of the game about how the story explores trauma and other triggering themes. The gameplay itself is very simple, a mix of plat-forming and some simple puzzles - there are some missables in the game but unless you're just steaming through and not exploring, I think they would be very hard to miss.
