Explosives Expert - trophy

I had tons of trouble with this trophy, but finally got it when I blew up exactly 5 enemies. Here is video how I did it. I don't know if anyone else suffers with this as much as I did but hopefully I can help someone.

I've got the 100% on the ps4. got the trophy in the same looking room as you. Still stuck at 95% on the ps3/vita version. :shakefist:

I had some trouble with this - stick to PS3 - im pretty sure its not possible on vita, as there are less enemies in any given room on the vita. I tried for like 4 hours on vita but got it in a few tries on PS3 with the same cross-save.

Thanks for the tip :) how hard is this 100% overall? I don't mind multiple playthroughs, but difficult stuff tends to beat me.

Not hard - thats the one trophy that will give problems.

Its a great game - very good all round, but a warning if you go for vita - the load times are BANANAS. i actually thought the game had frozen the first couple of times i started a level.

It's not hard game and I'm surprised that the World Peace... For Now trophy is ultra rare. I didn't had any troubles while playing on hardest difficulty. You got better weapons and perks when you progress and those help you a lot. Rest of the trophies are really easy, just the Explosives Expert gave me some trouble. I'm sure that I killed 6 guys with one explosive at least three times but the trophy didn't pop. For some reason it had to be exactly 5 enemies.

Here's my video for Explosives Expert. I only had 2 trophies left to 100% this. This one and World Peace...For Now. I could not for the life of me get the explosives trophy through the first 2 playthroughs on normal and advanced. I tried treaty violator, explosive barrels and everything. I figured there's no way possible to get it on expert because the guys are too strong. So I figured I would just finish on expert then try countless times on normal near the beginning to get my last trophy.

But I lucked out huge! On final mission on day 9, on expert difficulty, near the end of the game I just used my dart persuader on a grenade launcher specialist (black suit) and he exploded himself plus 4 others for the trophy! I had no idea this was even possible and I was in no way trying to get the trophy here. But I guess I got lucky and ended up getting the most annoying trophy right before beating it on expert. Now I'm finally done with this game!

I have done this quite a few times and no trophy. Don’t know what I’m doing wrong! Any tips would be really appreciated ? is it possible to get it on expert playthrough?

EDIT: I got lucky having 5 guys pathing along by one explosive. There were only these 5 guys in the room. I completed it on normal because I think the other two difficulties are too hard to kill them in one go.

Yeah, I never got this one single trophy and then forgot about the game (but I quite enjoyed it for what it was), maybe I will try to clean it up.

Just get the one mp trophy and at least you can still finish it whenever the mood takes you ?

I was having trouble with this one as well on ps3/vita while I got it without problems on ps4.
First time I had formula's equipped, 2nd time I didn't and shot the barrel twice, but still no trophy.

Somewhere I read someone that also got it on ps4 without problems, but couldn't get it on ps3 cause it glitched.

That's when I thought: Maybe it's in the savefile that is tossed around between all systems because it syncs to the server.

So the steps I took:

  1. Take ps3 offline (I pulled the cable to be sure)
  2. Delete all savefiles from CounterSpy
  3. Played the game again and never used formula's
  4. On day 4 I had a nice opportunity: 6 guys in a small hallway, 2 standing next to a red box and 3 walking from and to it. Just had to wait a long time so that 2 enemies synced up the walking towards the box.
  5. Shot the box twice
  6. Got it!

I got it in a similar room to the one in the OP. It's the one similar to it, but it starts with a set of stairs some cover, and when you walk down the stairs there's a big wall that blocks the enemies' sight from you. And you take cover on the wall and shoot enemies in the background. There was one explosive, and I just tossed a bunch of the blobbies until the enemies saw me and they shot. Their shots instantly blew themselves up and I got 6 of them.

Had no tweaks on. Can't think of what the game calls them. .org people say it can glitch if you have them equipped. I got it on the second difficulty too. So I'm glad I don't have to bother with another partial  playthrough.

I think the gold trophy is so rare because the game is tedious and frustrating due to the randomly generated levels which create a lot of design problems that make an otherwise fun game terrible to actually play.

Ugh, I hate useless posts with external resources.

Hi;

In case anyone is still looking for a simple way to get that trophy, I think I've got what you need: reach the final mission (launch site), and make it happen in the socialists side. The layout of the launch sites are mostly the same and are not as randomized as the other missions.

VERY IMPORTANT: do not equip any formula when going into the mission, as it apparently can make the trophy bug (happened to me).

If you're on PS4 : right at the beginning, after you've killed the first enemy, when you are on the roof of a small building, there are about six enemies below you quite gathered up and unaware of your presence. Scatter mines with the Treaty Violator all around so the explosion kills everyone, and once ready, make them explode. It should earn you the trophy.

If you're on PS3 (I don't know about PS Vita) : this won't work as the layout is not the same. There are two rooms in the socialist launch site that could work well. In the second part (square?) of the mission, you might find a room where there are big stairs in the back and lot of enemies there. Scatter mines when they are gathered and before they start shooting at you. I believe this room appears randomly but quite often. If you don't get it, quit the mission and restart it.

The second good place to do it is near the end, after you climb up some stairs with the missile in the back, there will be a small room with a soldier walking away from you right in front of you, and four other soldiers in the back of the room. Stay silent and scatter mines everywhere before they start shooting at you.

If you prefer a video over a text, here you go:

Hope it helps!
