I will also post winners of contests here, closing dates of events and anything else that the community should know about. Free Last of Us Giveaway Go like the first post and win a free copy of the Last of Us (courtesy of Superviral) Devil May Cry 2 Come cheer on the members attempting to take on the second part of this gruelling trilogy. We Plays What is a We Play? Well it is a community playthrough of a particular game. While they can be run different ways the basic idea is someone can organize a group of players that want to all play a particular game. Since it is community based it revolves around wanting to engage the other users as much as possible through forum discussions, agreed upon checkpoints, chapter reviews and tips and tricks from other forum users. Please see the We Play section for more details and to check out what the latest games are. Contests Did you ever see a status update where someone won Premium Membership, a 20$ PSN card or free download of a game and you thought to yourself "damn, that could have been me" Well the Contest section is for you. I will continue to post the latest contests there and take them down when they are over. Please note that Contests are things where you can win prizes and are different than community Events where bragging rights are on the line. Events We all don't have tons of money to throw around on prizes...but humiliating your fellow forum users can be just as fun (please note this thread is actually designed to build up community spirit so I expect all forms of humiliation to be done by way of a funny GIF or image ) So what is an event? Well it could be a platinum race you want to organize, a trophy competition, a special trophy group designed around a theme (ultra-rare platinums or the alphabet), it can be your voyage to 100 platinums. Basically if you think it is an interesting idea that can promote forum usage, post it below and I will add it in. Check out the latest in the Events section. Popular Post Dr_Mayus Posted June 12, 2015 Author Popular Post Share Posted June 12, 2015 (edited) {banner incoming} We Plays While Let's Plays have been around for a number of years they are generally 1 person playing through a game, providing commentary and the community involvement is often limited to just leaving a video comment after the video is uploaded. When SuperBuu3 joined up with the site he thought it would be fun if we played through a game together and the community involvement would be happening in real time as different forum users attempted to reach designated checkpoints and then relate their experiences back to the rest of the group (for more information check out the General Information and FAQ Now We Plays don't have to be done in that fashion as we have also seen with Dragon-Archon's Star Ocean 4 thread. There we are attempting to play through and plat the game in a year's time. There are no checkpoints but everyone involved is helping and encouraging each other to continue on with one of the most time intensive platinums of all time. So want to start up your own We Play? Well that is up to you to organize and get people involved. Find a game that a number of people want to play and then set up the thread. Just remember it is a We Play so encourage the community involvement as that is the main point of it . Here we see the different clubs and competitions (that don't have a tangible prize) that people put on around the site. Most of these have requirements to join so please read up on the rules of each one before asking to join. Clubs Seatk Rivalry Every month new rivalries are formed as we compete for Ultra Rare platinums, higher completion %, most trophies, most completed games, PSN level etc. A-Z Platinum Club A club for the weird completionists. Here we try to platinum a game for every letter of the Alphabet (and #s if you want as well) Competitions Trophy Hunter's League Do you have the skill and determination to match your skill against other Trophy Hunters? Check out the thread and find out. Ultra Trophy Hunter's League Anyone can hunt trophies...but it takes a special something to hunt Ultra Rare trophies. Extreme difficulty, long grinds, glitchy conditions...these are what makes up the Ultra Rare Rare Trophy Hunters League Points are based on how rare your trophies are. Do you waste time getting an Ultra Rare or do you get quick Uncommon trophies instead? Your play style determines your position. Ultra Rare Plat Race The ultimate plat race is on. Two incredible combatants, Vetran Wdjat vs Challenger Shana, battle to see who can take home the most Ultra Rare plats in their collection. Check out and vote for your favourite. Although you can mention that I'm doing a Bioshock Infinite We Play. As that will definitely happen its just likely 3 weeks away, going by our current progress rate. Bioshock 2 is pending group feedback. I should add all questions people want to direct to me should go to the thread I specifically made for questions like this. I am going to request getting this pinned though. Most people would've just referred to it as a group playthrough or something. I've been on a lot of forums though and not really seen any group playthroughs before, well not actually arranged in the way we're doing them. Just some people saying they're playing through a game, but we've been getting together relatively large groups. Speed runners doing competitions is the closest thing I can think of, as those are the only events on forums i've ever seen a large number of people doing and TBH the only reason I'm using the checkpoint system is because I'm a person who thinks spoilers can ruin games. Thats why this is to my knowledge an uncommon thing.
