Your son's name is Shaun in Fallout 4 and he is stolen from you while you're cryogenically frozen so by the time you thaw out he will be an adult. Also, what would be considered junk in other Fallout games, something like Duct tape, is sought after in Fallout 4 because it gives you materials needed to mod weapons, armor and build settlements.
