This is great news! I never got to play the original because I didn't own a Gameboy, and I'd never touch an iOS/Android game because I don't hate myself.  :P But now it's on everyone's favourite little handheld? Count me in!  xD

Downloading this now. We Vita owners have got to support this kind of stuff.  :P

And Vita iz detto, right? :awesome:

Is this a rogue-like game (like Sorcery saga) or action-RPG (like Ys series)? I looked for some info, but did not find it...

Ow man... Too many games at a short amount of time. Backlog, I summon you!

Here, have a gameplay =D

It's more like Ys.

Awesome ;) at first I thought its a Mana game that was released only in JP but looks like its a remake of the very first Seiken Densetsu/Mana game. I wish Namco would have translated Tales of Vesperia for ps3 <_< but now its more likely that remaster may happen in the future.

Don't get my hope up, dammit!  :P There's nothing more I want in this world than for Tales of Vesperia to get remastered for PS4 and released in the west. Well it's at least a draw with having all my waifus become real.  xD

Polish your Nipponese :awesome:

I have a Japanese copy of Vesperia (even though it's the best sellers version meaning the art work is ruined) :P but I'll always welcome a version I can actually understand.  xD Tackling a VN in Japanese is one thing, but an RPG? All those item descriptions, NPC dialogue, etc is enough to scare me away from playing it, at least for now. I will play it eventually though, but I'm secretly hoping they announce a remaster before I get to it, even if that is highly unlikely.  :P Maybe Bamco will be merciful...  :P

I would stop what I am doing and go through the whole thing again.  one of my all time favorite games.  Now if we could also get Chrono Trigger with some trophies...

Well I had suggested a SNES Square collection but no one listens to me ;(

I mean I wouldn't be opposed to a FF4,5,6, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, Seiken Densetsu 3 collection.

I mean I already started coming up with the trophy lists for some of them :P

I assume this will have trophies?

So basically this is Square Enix's version of Zelda?

Yes, it has trophies. It's this trophy list:

http://psnprofiles.com/trophies/4318-%E8%81%96%E5%89%A3%E4%BC%9D%E8%AA%AC

And like I said somewhere before it plays like a toned down Zelda.

For anyone who enjoyed the original game and wants to play it again and doesn't care when the characters have the typical smartphone/3DS Chibi-look: Buy it. It's a straight up "remake" of the original game without the various story changes of Sword of Mana and the area changes. The only thing I can complain about: You directly see that it's a smartphone game due to the onscreen buttons (but you can also use normal controls).

Oh, cool, I didn't expect to see this being released so soon. But, the trophy list is Japanese? Is it German/ English on your console @crimsonidol? Because, I won't understand what to do for the trophies otherwise. :P

It's english on the PS VIta, but all the trophies up to this are hidden. As far as I see it they are all story-related. I already wrote a post in the Feedback-forum that the list needs to be rescanned.

Just wait 'till someone makes a guide =D

Nah, I like to explore my games by myself. :D I always get the feeling when I'm taking a guide as help that it takes away my imagination and will of exploration. BUT I'm always happy when there's a guide telling me what is missable/ what to be on lookout for. :)

The game is straight forward. All the trophies up to Duty and Honor are story-related and can't be missed. The five 99-trophies (level 99, 99 for each stat) are a little grind (when I played this trough on GameBoy four years ago I was about level 75 and I was already overleveled) and missable if you don't take precaution, and the only one that may be a bit trouble is the item trophy.

Cool, thanks for the advice. :D That item trophy however will most likely be a pain in the ass, as I can imagine this game has loads of items. Oh, I remember the pain of "Treasure Hunter" in FFXIII...
