Aweso me! Question

You write it is easy to obtain silver or Gold at least once a week? But how? There are some mods, where I am happy to earn bronce. I am playing on all platforms at the moment. My best is Ps3, I don't know why. And sometimes people win with 1 sec to get 150 lums on the vita. Wtf? Today 50km 1f914.png, I am happy to reach 550m on the extreme daily challenge. I know there are some really good players, but sometimes I think cheated?

I want to get better, but sometimes I am wondering, how?

Yes, time to time some cheaters play around, but only on lum's based challenges (I don't know how and I don't want to know) : fortunately, they always quit the scene once they obtain their 6000 points. However, long distances scores are always legit scores : just a matter of years of practice, will to improve, and time to spend (you need approximately 1 hour to reach 40km on a land, or 20km on a pit). Nevertheless, a 50km+ score on land distance is very rare (I've done less than 10 of these ones in my "career") but if it is rare on vita, it's not so impressive considering all around the other platform...since the WR on this type of challenge is over 300 km... (on WiiU). However, for ALL distance challenge, the difficult paths appear around 1000m for an extreme challenge and around 1500m for a normal one (it's a bit more for pit distance, respectively 1500 and 2000m), before that, it's clearly a piece of cake (at least for lands and murfy's, it's a bit more difficult on pits and towers). So, any regular player should at least reach these points before dying. If so, it's 100% sure you will gain at least a silver cup, and if you do only 200 or 300m further it's 100% sure it will be a gold cup. In fact, stopping below these distances should be only distances for complete beginners. (so, sorry to say you that 550m is not at all a good performance, not even a basic one ^^" : play a bit more to improve it, it's very easy to improve quickly on low distances)

Something that I didnt understand when I started was that a lot of the deeper platforming mechanics of this game were introduced and explained in Rayman Origins, a game that I've skipped for now because of its entirely offline single player trophy list but intend on returning to eventually.

YouTube has some excellent tutorials for complex movement techniques that are easy to pick up but hard to master; once you learn them though, the game becomes completely different feeling. Your top speed, jump height, and ability to stop and change directions quickly are all going to be limited until you learn how to use some of the speed running techniques.

I assure you, top cup earners are likely just really good and practiced and not hacking the Leaderboards.

One of the disheartening things that happen is during the pit challenge where it starts going horizontally where there are the spiky plants above and below you as well as one growing from the left side chasing you. There are the blue guys with the hands that grab you and swing you from side to side, which you are meant to use to traverse this section. Literally every time I get to that part, the first guy grabs me and instantly drops me on the spiky plant and I don't know why. It's supposed to be something the game does automatically and it's failing at it, and there's seemingly nothing I can do to prevent it. It's frustrating as you have to then do the whole thing from the start again, to have to travel over 1km, just for the game to drop me again. So no amount of practice or improvement is gonna get me past the part where the game just fails on me.

Try gliding passed or around it.

You need the guy to swing you to the right so you can get grabbed by the next guy to swing you further to the right. Gliding past or around will just land you on a spiky plant, either the one that's already there or the one that's growing from the left that's gonna chase you. This part isn't a vertical area, it's horizontal, so you need to move to the right and fairly quickly too.

Here's a visual reference (at 1:51 if it doesn't start there):

That first guy always instantly drops me and I land on the spiky plant underneath.

I understand since I had this problem when I first played these challenges long time ago. But in fact the solution is simple to ALWAYS be catched by the blue hand : simply NOT fall directly (full speed falling) towards the blue hand, but FLOAT slowly until you touch the hand : don't be afraid about the spiky plant that will follow you : this one only appear once you touch the blue hand so don't be too nervous and wait the LAST moment to catch this hand, after floating SLOWLY. After that, make short jump (and NOT long jump) to catch the next blue hands. Done.

Ah, thanks for the tips. My belief was that it was something that should happen automatically, being caught by the blue hand, so when I was always being dropped I didn't understand why. Will make sure I'm not free falling and float down next time.

You're welcome. In fact this distance challenge has more hard paths in the first 2000m (like the blue hand paths), but after that is clearly the easiest one among all others, when you begin the hard phase at 1500~2000m (and at least until 34km), this is often the only one distance challenge, where most of speed challenges pro players specialists are also able to catch long distances (whereas they often don't make good performances on other distance challenges). But it is also the more slow and boring one : when you master it a bit you can almost play it with open only one eye, and the other looking the TV. The real difficulties (and the fun) begin after 67km, but as it takes more than 3 hours to reach this distance, it's not very stimulating to try to spend so much time. So, one of the reasons I stopped to play this challenge (maybe, I only play it 2 or 3 times a year now, but I have absolutely not the same time to devote to this type of challenge)

Are there any good advice to get better in the challenges? Once on a time challenge on a distance I could reach silver, but at the end I was not fast enough. I can get gold on Ps3 and 4, I know there are a lot more players, but I often cannot see how to get much faster.

Sometimes I am asking myself how to reach 15 seconds, sometimes 10 seconds.

10 seconds to earn 150 lums seems pretty ridicoulos, or there must be a glitch. In this tempo I will reach the last level in 2 years maybe longer, depends if I can challenge glitch challenges. The last daily murphy seems pretty easy, but the vita controls are not very good. The wipe is a problem for me.

Should I play with a specific character? I play mostly with Rayman. I tried a princess or the guys you have to rescue, sorry does not know the english Name.

I started using Globox for the online challenges and I noticed I gotten a little better. The timing is hard for me, especially on the distance challenges. I struggle to just get silver cups, but I managed to win a few Gold Cups. I got a Diamond cup, granted it was from the glitch a while back. I'm mostly focusing to at least attaining silver cups in the challenges and a few gold cups if possible.

If you're getting two bronzes a day +2 more at the end of the week (16 per week), you still wouldn't need this long. Get to Level 7 and you'll have all four challenges to work with. We detailed this at the beginning of the thread, my OP was responded to with the math, would be less than a year even if you take off days.

The touch controls I have issues with as well, but silver is still obtainable regularly. It's going to come down to repetition. Just keep trying, with Murfy's Dungeon, no tricks since it's just a matter of timing where you're touching or swiping.

The other challenges you'll want to use YouTube tutorials to learn the advanced movement mechanics, that's the best I can do for you. Characters definitely do behave a bit differently but the best competitive advantage you can give yourself is understanding the full depth of movement controls and having seen all of the obstacle "chunks" enough times to memorize best practices.

yes. the rayman legends vita game was up until last night. then down. up in the morning for a short time. down ever since. ubisoft is aware that it's having issues. i know some people who couldn't get challenges done yesterday and it'll impact another day if it somehow doesn't get fixed by server reset on friday.

edit 1: morning is here. servers on rayman vita are still broken.

Update:

Ubisoft Support Twitter account has replied to me saying they're attempting to resolve the issue. The issue continues to be exclusive to the Vita version.

While it always seems bleak with the Vita titles, don't give up hope y'all, they can still patch things server-side if that's where the issue lies. We dont know what the issue actually is without being on the inside so please don't jump to conclusions. Keep contacting them if you're concerned, that'll help them prioritize this issue.

I agree - keep contacting them to prioritize the issue!

From what I’m seeing on Twitter, Rayman Legends is down on PS Vita, PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U. The Stadia version might also be down. Additionally, Far Cry 2 on PS3 and Xbox 360 still seems to be down. Watch Dogs 1 was having issues and I’m not sure if that’s fixed. This all started with an Ubisoft-wide server outage on Thursday, March 3. Ubi restored online service for most games but these older titles are still down completely.

I was not aware that it was this systemic. Actually makes me quite hopeful, then, since there's a lot more software that would be lost if Ubisoft decided to give up; much better odds they'll hang on until they resolve the issue than something like LBP.

This message right there is precise and sums it all very well.

All these games went down on the ubisoft outage last week and are still down right now.

Please everyone keep contacting UbisoftSupport via twitter so we have a better chance of them fixing the servers for this game!

Concerning Murphy Dungeon and collecting lums. Is there a hidden gameplay mechanic? You cannot control the speed of the globox and even if I collect all lums and touch the enemies I am seconds behind the last player who earned silver. Any advices?

I've heard if there are two enemies on a horizontal pillar you can pull up at the exact time you smash them to get a lot of lums. Also turning everything to purple will significantly help (you probably already know).

The clue was to hit every bug on the wall to get extra lums. ?

My apologies if this has already been asked elsewhere, but I've had a thought recently about max Awesomeness rank.

The grind for getting max Awesomeness level is, as a lot of people have already said, pretty serious. I usually only have time to get bronzes from the daily challenges, meaning, like most people, it's one whole point per day that my score is increasing, with a bonus for the weekly every seven days.

Unlike long-time players, I haven't personally gone very far in the offline content in this game. I am two paintings/levels left in only the first "world", and have loads of gold cups that I can still earn offline.

All that said: does anyone know what the minimum number of ONLINE challenge cups/points a person has to earn to obtain "Aweso me!"?

Say I obtained every gold cup in the game and had every other trophy earned in the trophy list. How many more points would I need to earn through the online challenges?

My concern is that if I take a break now, when I feel exhausted by weeks upon weeks of 1 point-per-day increases, and Ubisoft announces a server closure, that there will be no way for me to get to max rank even if I've grinded bronze cups in the daily and weekly challenges for months beforehand. (Admittedly, I haven't been playing for very long and have done far worse grinds, but I want to focus my limited time this year on some of my other Vita backlog.)

Alternatively, if anyone knew how many points a player could net from the campaign, as well as how many points it took to earn Aweso me!, I can do the math for the rest.

Hm... Honestly? Why don't You even consider giving some kind of effort i trying to get silver cups? Why obsessed with only bronze ones, when clearly they give 5x points less than silver. It's not hard man, but You don't even seem to try. Why?
