Fall 2022 Backlog Challenge

Finally done with Cyberpunk 2077! Took a bit longer than expected because my PS5 controller broke and I had to wait a week for a replacement. Solid game overall - not quite the open world RPG everyone expected, but if you go into it expecting an open world Ubisoft type game with RPG elements you won't be disappointed.

 

Not entirely sure what I'll do next, but I think I'll pick up Songbird Symphony since it's short enough and a nice change of pace (based on what I played of it previously) and resume my playthrough of Landflix Odyssey as well.

i focus on 1 title final fantasy type 0 hd until its finished but my games requires more then 100 hours to finish i wil see wich one i do by then 16 percent with final fantasy type 0 hd is my current game for 14th platinum trophie i know low i am low on platinum trophies but i started last year in 2021 for to collect platinum trophies so i going to update  probably next time somwhere in december

No progress this week. Playing Criminal Girls here and there but still not enjoying it. Just a lot of tedious grinding mixed with the occasional pervy mini-game. I saved right before a boss fight on Monday and haven't gone back yet. I know I'll need to grind more to unlock some abilities and re-stock my items before the fight so I've been avoiding it. Normally I don't mind stuff like that, but every battle in this game takes so long that it feels way more annoying than most other RPGs. Even with a show or podcast on for some distraction it's still a slog.

 

I've got a couple of long audiobooks I want to listen to this week so I'll try playing while listening to those. Maybe that will help.

i have lost alot of gamesaves so i going to play some other games in the meanwhile curse of the dead gods 1percent and dead island definitief edition and kingdoms of amalur remastered reckoning i got 13 platinum trophies so i hope i can add more platinum trophies i going to restart al my games so i dont have a choice it wil take longer to unlocking the trophies then but i finally am getting better at gaming i noticed it because i play alot of different games i make less mistakes now then 6years ago so i can start fresh with my games now and i wil ad assasins creed 2 also on the list for to platinum it

10/7/22

 

I gotta be real man, I was so excited to get into Katamari Damacy Reroll and it's turned into a real 'careful what you wish for' Twilight Zone type experience. In fact, much like a neglectful husband, it's driven me into the grindy, RNG-infested arms of Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires, which now makes it two longstanding (and ineligible) backlog side thorns I've chosen to torment myself with rather than just power through that one, final trophy.

 

I can't bash the controls, because it's a PS2 game with such an awkward task to undertake that they're about as good as they could possibly be, and I can't bash the offending trophy either because the very nature of the game necessitates it. Plus it is (rightly) categorized as a chill, easy game, which makes my frustration with it all the more palpable... so unfortunately, it's purely a me problem.

 

On a more positive note, my first playthrough of Resident Evil was fantastic, and I'm actually quite eager for the multiple more that await me. Remembering the original better than the remake has made for an even fresher experience than expected - for instance, I completely forgot about the crimson heads. That was a great WTF moment?

 

After that it's PS3ville for me. I'm adding The Godfather II and WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2010 since I'm definitely gonna need something on the side to go along with GTA IV, but first things first, Katamari gotta go.

LOLZ Yeah, I sort of feel you, ma'am. (I guess you were female because you mentioned a neglectful husband, not a neglectful wife. Of course, I might be wrong. )

 

I have already downloaded LEGO Batman 3 and need to start it, but I am trying to think about whether I want to swap out LEGO Batman 2 since it's stream-only and I don't like streaming PS games. (I had only streamed Ni No Kuni once in my life and kept worrying that something was gonna happen to my save when I didn't renew the service. ) I need to get two more games to hit Platinum #55 before the 27th as I'll be focusing on Persona 5 Royal then when it comes out for PS5. My PS5 is sadly being neglected as there aren't many games I want to play on it. (I have downloaded the free PS+ game Toem... but that DLC... ?)

Update 2: Still plugging away at FF12: The Zodiac Age.  I wish I were in a better mindset to take this game on, because it really is phenomenal.  It also fixed nearly everything wrong with the original release: LP system is fixed, you can swap jobs, voice acting is SO MUCH better, trial mode and game mode saves are now linked... the list goes on. 

 

The gambit system in particular is excellent, if you take the time to set things up correctly.  All of the combat in FF is pretty much automated anyways, so having finer control over said automation is awesome.  I never understood the hate for the gambit system, especially since later RPGs pulled from it (looking at you, Dragon Age Origins).  I just am not having the greatest time with it for some reason, and I'm not sure why.  It's weird playing a game that I know is excellent, but for some reason I can't get fully into.

 

This game desperately needs a 60fps patch, and I'm annoyed it doesn't have one especially since the PC version does play at 60fps.  The animations are really hard on the eyes at normal speed, but especially so when playing at 2x or 4x speed.

 

I'm maybe 2/3 of the way through the game now?  Just finished fighting Dr. Cid for the first time.  I'll probably finish the story and then power through the endgame hunts with 3 Seitengrats and call it a day.  Sacrilege, I know.  

 

Regardless, the remaster didn't fix the most important thing, which was removing Vaan and Penelo from the game entirely, so 2/10 it sucks /s

I get where you're coming from with these comments. When I bought the original PS2 version I really didn't like it. I think my dislike of the gambit system started there, coming from such a heavily turn-based combat system to this was just too jarring for me, and I barely made it past the tomato monster hunt back then. 

 

I bought the remaster on PS4 to give it another try, again I found it so difficult to get into. I'd pick up and put down constantly. While I got on better with the gambits this time, I still had real issues with the pacing. The story didn't grab me, and levelling up just took forever. Eventually I did grind the RNG for the invisible weapons (3 Seitengrat bows and 3 Great Trangos), and it was from that point onwards that I really started to enjoy the game. Even with those weapons I found a lot of the monster hunt marks challenging, and the later stages of trial mode will give you a run for your money.

 

It is a good game, but it just took such a long time for it to click with me.

You heard incorrectly. There's a wonderful 100% guide on here and takes a couple hours at most. You may have heard about glitched trophies but it has been patched.

I decided that I needed to drain my life away, so I burned another swap to swap one LEGO game for another, one which costs over $60 - LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. This is supposed to take weeks, so I'll probably have plenty of time to burn while waiting for Persona 5 Royal to come out on PS5. I'll be doing LEGO Batman 3 first and then Star Wars.

Do you play online alot because i want to start with online trophies from fall guys ultimate knockout i dont know about destiny 2 if it have online trophies but i have been stopped with fifa games its just online part way to difficult for me but i got games like predator hunting grounds dead island souls games requiressome of them online so i like to know if online is different then ofline games i have not been playing online like 5 years ago with call of duty black ops3 i want to play online back i am not so good in online games

Going very slowly on the LEGO games, trying to platinum LEGO Batman 3 first. Sadly, didn't feel up to the challenge due to have a major headache when I woke up and having to go to church at 4:30 PM, so I only got three levels done. i am already regretting swapping for LEGO Star Wars Skywalker Saga but I already bought the game so I am in it for the long haul.

I platted that. Some of it was a pain, but nothing too crazy bad. One time I had a mission involving a turtle and I had to do 10-15 missions outside that to make the damn thing show up.

 

I platted Arcade Game Series: Pac-Man, but decided not to add it to the list.

Managed a little progress after marvelling in the glory of Elden Ring!
 

Also hit my 2,500 trophy with a Resi 2 for shooting a dog out of mid air, wild. I’m going to continue flipping between Resi and Borderlands 2 this week, my wife laughed at how much I’m jumping from Resident Evil 2 - does have a lot of jump scares ? and I’ve been wearing headphones with lighting low at night, spooky ?!
