A Short Hike - 0% -> 100% Games Completed: 12/16 Swaps: 4/5 I did manage to finish A Short Hike and Firewatch last week considering they are both pretty short games, but unfortunately I got pretty busy with work so I didn't have the chance to do anything else. I wish I had done a bit better in this challenge but I think despite the circumstances it wasn't that bad considering I still did a lot of progress on games I didn't think I would ever play again (Thief and Scott Pilgrim), even if I didn't finish Thief during this even, I will eventually just on my own terms lol and I do plan to get back to some of the games I ended up swapping. It was still a fun challenge, and it was nice to get things out of my backlog even if they were silly short games, it was also my first time joining this event, so thank you for hosting it! I don't think I'll be able to join the Spring event because the timeframe is pretty short and I don't want to commit publicly to games I'm sure I won't be able to finish lol but good luck and have fun to everyone that does join! Catch you all in a different event 🫡

I've gotten quite a lot done during this challenge actually, waaay more than I actually expected to, getting a PS5, kind of meant I ended up adding even more games to this list, but I at least did play all of the PS5 games I added to it, which reminds me.... I really ought to play more PS5 games.... or erm, old ass games on a PS5, either or.... So what was my last completion I clocked in with? Marvel's Spider-Man Miles Morales of course! Which I decided to play because I was still in a bit of an open world type of mood after finally nailing the 100% for Grand Theft Auto IV. I enjoyed the game for the most part quite a lot actually, I'm not overly fond of the combat in the Insomniac Spider-Man games, but I appreciated that this one basically gives you the option of total stealth if you actually want to utilise it. It did make the bases, and some of the encounters more enjoyable to play as a result, so I'm very glad of that. I might be rather jaded with triple A gaming these days, or mainstream gaming, however you want to term it - but Miles Morales really is one of the best, its story is pretty great, and I don't mind the length of it, there's nothing wrong with something being short, if it's of a goof quality. Honestly, my main issue with this game was the antagonists, they're very lazy and either one dimensional, or just on the borderline of being two dimensional, which is a shame, as I think as a whole Insomniac did a very impressive job with writing the characters all round in this one... I'll leave some more ramblings in a spoiler bubble like I usually do, if you wanted to read them 🤣 Spoiler I enjoyed this one quite a lot, I'm not the hugest fan of the previous game to be perfectly honest, I basically think it's very good, but it's got a pretty bland open world and the combat is a bit basic, but overly flashy looking. But the story is excellent. I honestly think Miles Morales is pretty much just more of the same. Which there's absolutely nothing wrong with. I don't know if this is a controversial opinion or not, but I think Insomniacs version of Miles, is better than their version of Peter Parker, I still really like their version of Pete, but I just think Miles is ever so slightly better. My favourite version of Peter Parker is probably the 90's animated version of the character, although most of the versions of the character that I've experienced I've liked to some degree. Personally speaking, I could probably have done without playing new game plus immediately after finishing the story, but that's a me problem, that's all One aspect of this game that I did massively appreciate was that the game was pretty versatile in that it did pretty much let you, the player, decide whether they wanted to engage with stealth or all out combat, and didn't really force either thing on you at any point. I personally went the stealth route, because I could take or leave the combat system in these games, I think it works, and I think it looks pretty, but it just feels like a slightly unrefined version of the Arkham combat. Although, I do honestly prefer it in this game, as Miles' venom powers to lend it a lot more variety I think. The way almost all of the characters in this game are written is pretty well done too I thought, outside of the two fairly big villains, I think they're both incredibly generic, and one of them - a character that should illicit sympathy - I just thought.... Can you be quiet please ... I know I sound like I'm being a bit negative on the game, but I genuinely liked it a lot, I'm just a bit jaded with triple A gaming haha! Outside of the challenge I've been playing all sorts of things really, I've played chunks of Beyond Two Souls here and there couch co-op with my other half @Redblaziken8we also started playing LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars, and that has been a blast, I enjoy both games to be fair, but we're in the cleanup stage of Beyond Two Souls currently, which really does remind you that game is essentially Elliot Page crying simulator, which yes, is a term I will probably use in a future review I've also been chipping away at Star Ocean: The Last Hope International occasionally, I'm currently in the "chipping away at battle trophies" section of the game, one I'll be in for a while, so I guess I need to formulate a plan for that... I could potentially nab a couple more trophies for the bunny racing tonight though..... Which erm, I'm sure will be a riveting and joyous experience I also decided to return to BioShock 2 finally, as I've got BioShock Infinite on my list here, and I'm just going to carry that over to the next challenge too, so it'll be nice to finally get around to that one, well and complete BioShock 2 after nearly thirteen years of having it on my profile.... but, progress is progress, by going back for that games DLC, I've got my completion % up to 98.24% completion, and finally gotten my unearned trophies under 400, so I'm pretty damn pleased with that one actually. As always, it's been a blast, and I'll be joining in with the next one too - you've all gotten through some incredibly impressive completions in the last few months, and I'll see you all in the next one!! Popular Post MidnightDragon
Though it was technically on my spring list, I did the PS4 version of A Castle Full of Cats for a leap year plat. I don’t see it as shovelware, so not breaking my own rules. And my completion is at 90% for the first time in quite a while! Popular Post grumpaluffagus_1
Final Update Assassin's Creed II - 28-->72% Endling - 100% Sleeping Dogs - 11% Infamous Second Son - 100% Marvel's Spider Man: Miles Morales - 100% Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage - 100% Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon - 100% Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order - 100% The Witcher 3 - 14% Foamstars - 26-->100% Immortals: Fenyx Rising - 8% Mortal Kombat 1 - 78% (Swaps 2/5) Well it's time for a final update, mostly just to track my limited success. I managed to complete 7 of my 12 games, and got decently far in an additional two. Since my last update, I finished the trophy list for Foamstars. It's fun but nothing special and I don't see it being around longterm. The trophies can be completed in 5 to 10 hours with the worst part being the grind for skills for hard mode and then finding a squad were everyone else in similarly upgraded. I did it on random matchmaking and got lucky after 5 tries. There was one Baristador who spent most the game as a ball of foam, but the rest of us were powerful enough that we finished the mission with the reactor having a tiny sliver of health remaining. Not great, but good enough for the trophy. I also almost finished AC2, but lost momentum in the DLC missions. They are overly long with no compelling story to propel you from objective to objective, but I should be able to buckle down and finish them this weekend. All in all, not bad progress and for some odd reason, I have already decided on an even more ambitious list for the next one.
