A-Z Slayers Challenge

Welcome to the Slayers Club

 

Inspired by outstanding events like the A-Z Platinum Title Challenge, the A-Z Game Title Challenge, and the A-Z Protagonist Challenge, I would like to present an idea i've had for a bit, the A-Z Slayers Challenge. One of the mainstays of trophies is the "Defeat _____" trophy, and that is exactly what you'll be hunting in this challenge.

 

A PLATINUM TROPY IS NOT REQUIRED FOR THIS CHALLENGE

 

We aren't after Plats here, but individual trophies based on defeating/killing/vanquishing/destroying named enemies. The goal is a list of 27 individual trophies of separate games each which state in the trophy itself that you have defeated a major enemy or boss that each start with a different letter of the alphabet and one number.

The Rules

1. No cheating.

2. No autopops.

3. The same list can only be used once per game no matter the stacks via different platforms or regions. Slayers hunt far and wide. If the series list on PSN Profiles has them in the same category they dont count. If they are in sperate categories then its fine. Diablo 3 and Diablo 3 Reaper or Souls would both count. Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal would count. But Control, and Control Ultimate edition or Witcher 3 and Witcher 3 GOTY edition would not, because they are in the same series list category.

4. Major enemies only. No "defeat 100 zombies." No "defeat 10 players online." They have to be either bosses or special enemies and always NPC's No PvP here. Example: In Helldivers 2 the trophy for defeating a bug warrior would not be allowed since that is a general term for several bugs, however defeating a Bile Titan would since that is a named special unit. Capitalization is usually the key here. I believe this rules can have some wiggle room so use your best judgement and we can always talk it out.

5. Name or titles starting with "The" don't count the T. Example: In Diablo 3 "The Butcher" would be a B not a T. 

6. Last names are okay! Example: In Alpha Protocol the trophy for eliminating Konstantine Brayko can be a K or a B. 

7. There's has to be some language in the title about defeating, killing, beating, vanquishing, eliminating. You can't just survive, you must kill. You can't beat them in a card game or a race, battle must take place. A heinous crime, a show of force. A murder would be nice of course.

8. Nothing is set in stone, switching later is okay! If you use a game for a letter but later want to switch that game to a different letter thats fine! Just as long as you don't use the same game twice and your overall number completed doesn't go down.

9. You must have at least 8/27 entries to join. That's just so we don't get a bunch of 1 or 2 entry submissions to keep staying up to date an annoyance on me. I plan on trying to update constantly off the top but eventually at least once every other week or so.

 

There are four ranks to achieve. I hope this is a fun idea and that you have fun creating your list and climbing the ranks of the Slayer's Challenge. I have absolutely no skills in making badges but if anyone wants to, you have full reign to do whatever you want.

Oh boy, yet another A-Z club I can join!

 

I was able to get up to 25/29 using trophies from games with an UR plat (missing RTUZ). Some of these are DLC trophies and very few of them are actually UR, but this challenge is a little different so I'll choose to ignore that part. Shoutout to games like Rogue Legacy and Tales of Zestiria which fail to name their bosses.

 

It may have been possible to get 26/29 by using "Amon" from Yakuza Kiwami for A and "Jo Amon" from Yakuza 0 for J, but since they were the same character I felt this was cheating. Maybe worth adding to the rules that the same character can't be used twice if they appear in different games?

I'm in the process of making my entry list (so far went through my UR trophies.. much more from racing games than I realized lol)

 

Anyway, I have 4 questions:

• I understand the stuff about second lists of the same games and GotY stuff, but I would like some confirmation on a few speciffic cases.

Disgaea 3 and Disgaea 4 PS3 and Vita versions are to be treated as different games? (trophy lists are different and on top of the DLC, I think that they made quality of life improvements on both games)

On this point, I also believe that Street Fighter IV and Super Street Fighter IV are different games.

Direct link would go to a page with the text in Japanese. In this case it just says "Boss at level 999 of the [Abyss]". The Abyss is the game mode, and lvl 999 is actually the stage or floor where we fight the boss.

A "someone" doesnt count. A "the boss" doesn't count. Needs to be a specific named character. I would accept the Baal Pirates one because it's a group but its a specific named group. Someone above used the Hackett Family from The Quarry and I think that counts because you killed a whole family.

 

As far as the different game list thing, i've found a fairer way to rule it. If the series list on PSN Profiles has them in the same category they dont count. If they are in sperate categories then its fine.

Example: Disgaea have those games in the same category so they cant both be used. But Street Fighter IV and Super Street Fighter IV are in different categories so it's fine.

I changed it for "Kill the prince cursed into a toad.", since that's the most murder thing I have, and the creature is called Toad Prince. But if you think the title doesn't quite fit, I still have Kill The Tower from Shadow of Mordor, and a few other Defeat trophies.

I changed Con-Ye for Yen-Lo-Wang also from Shaq Fu and I changed the # entry to the 9th colossus from Shadow of the Colossus, which should be OK, since I saw that game on a few other lists for the # entry.
