Popular Post christine_uk
Hi guys, thought I may as well add my platinum list to the forum! I would say it was around summer 2014 when I really started to look to achieve all trophies I could in games, before then it was only certain games I tried to achieve 100% (mostly back in my PS2 days tbh!). I still have a looooooong way to go before reaching the achievements of many here and I must point out that the majority of my platinums are LEGO games Under the spoiler you'll find my list as well as some pointless ramblings! 1-30 #1 LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues (PS3) I love the LEGO games, I'll play any of them even from films I don't even like (see #2) as there is just something about these games that I really enjoy. The levels are simple but I enjoy collecting the characters, red bricks etc and just the humour the game brings! #2 LEGO The Lord of the Rings (PS3) Now, I have to admit an unpopular opinion - LOTR is a terrible film series. Controversial. However, LEGO games are awesome therefore I bought it and prepared myself for the worst... but I really got into it and enjoyed replaying all the levels to get all the extras. I even bought a second controller so I was able to get the co-op trophy! This actually should have been my first platinum if I had two controllers earlier. (I may just give the films another look...) #3 CSI: Fatal Conspiracy (PS3) I wasn't sure what to expect of this game but I was after something new and it was about £3 on the PS Store if I remember rightly. It was a little slow in parts and I didn't really enjoy having to play some scenes over again to get all trophys but for the price it wasn't a bad game. Some good stories to solve but the moving from place to place all the time was a little boring, as were the characters. #4 Hannah Montana: The Movie (PS3) Ah, this one... Haha! I didn't think I would ever play this game but a combination of becoming a little bit of a Miley Cyrus fan (I blame Madonna lol they sang together last year and I checked out Miley's stuff and it wasn't too bad... yeah I know...), the game being cheap, and hearing how ridiculously easy it was I had to buy it. The storyline is cheesy as is everything else about this game but you know something... it was fun! There was nothing too tasking to do, nothing repetitive, just a cheesy, fun relaxing game! Judge me if you must #5 LA Noire (PS3) Fantastic game - the graphics, the story, the characters, the extra stuff... brilliant. Shame this game is so under-appreciated. I think with it being by Rockstar a lot of people expected it to be another GTA but it isn't! It is just as good though. I loved how you investigate crimes and can walk around looking at evidence, the chases and all the effort that was put into the realism. #6 The LEGO Movie (PS3) Been a while since a LEGO game popped up here hasn't it? I've never actually seen the movie yet but as mentioned above I enjoy the LEGO games no matter what the subject is! A pretty easy platinum, felt like I didn't have to make as much effort as with some of the other LEGO games I have completed but definitely a recommended game. #7 LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 (PS3) Massive Harry Potter fan so thrilled to get this platinum after over 2 years Just got to try and get the first one now! One thing I did find a little annoying was the way you have to walk around Hogwarts looking for anything you've missed but just adds to the challenge I guess! #8 The Walking Dead (PS3) One of my most common platinum but one of the best games I've ever played. I bought in the January sales on the PS Store but didn't play it for a couple of months because I'm not good with zombie games. I felt brave one day and couldn't believe it! Nothing like a typical zombie game but more about making the right decisions and interaction with other characters. The graphics on this game were stunning, just like a comic book and added a unique feel to it. #9 The Wolf Among Us (PS3) As I predicted my 9th platinum! I loved the story, although it was weird seeing fairytale characters come to life in that way (I think I need to get the comics of this and TWD!), loved the ending but won't say anything here! A much easier game than TWD but it was more enjoyable and I look forward to playing more Telltale games! #10 Where the Wild Things Are (PS3) Not a difficult game at all for platinum #10. Well, the main storyline was simple even on hard but the collectables were a little tricky I have to admit as it's taken me a couple of days to finally get them all. I was planning on a "better" platinum for #10 but tbh I don't mind, I enjoyed it so that is the main thing. I'm always on the look out for cheap games on eBay and last week I was bidding on a few different ones and was shocked to get this for just over £2! I couldn't resist playing it straight away and pleased I did. Although it's a bit of a creepy game for kids though I must say! #11 Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments (PS3) An unexpected 11th! I decided to join PS Plus and this was one of the games available. It was quite good, a bit too much dialogue if I'm honest and a bit too much of going back and forth to the same locations. Got better in the last cases though so I did enjoy it! #12 LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7 (PS Vita) Another LEGO Platinum! Love these games and although I have the platinum for this game on the PS3 the Vita version was totally different so it was like a whole new game #13 The Walking Dead (PS Vita) Loved this game on the PS3 so bought the Vita version when it was reduced, tbh didn't enjoy it as much second time round and found myself making the same decisions till near the end! Also got that really annoying Rock, Paper, Scissors related trophy in the DLC (first time too! Lost count on how many times I tried it on the PS3 version!) so have 100% on this game too. #14 LEGO Jurassic World (PS4) Loved this game, been a huge fan of the films since the beginning so was thrilled when this was made into a LEGO game! I started playing it a while go and then took a break so could have completed it much sooner than I did! The characters, the settings, the dinosaurs the levels etc were all perfect, probably my fave LEGO game so far! I loved doing the builds with the raptor just looked so funny! What makes this platinum even better is that it was my first on the PS4 and also my 2500th trophy! #15 LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean (PS3) This game was tough at times, with no hints to where the compass points were and also the mini-kit detector wasn't the best! I started it well over 2 years ago and only decided to give it another go because I was so close to completing it and thought it was worth another shot. It was probably my least fave of the LEGO games so far but overall an enjoyable game and fans of the movie will enjoy it. #16 LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 (PS3) 3rd platinum in a week! Haha! Completed the other Harry Potter game on both the PS3 & Vita so decided to go back and have a go with the first game. The students in peril was the toughest thing to complete and was holding me back from completing the game but I finally managed and the last trophies were straightforward so hooray! This was also the first LEGO game where I got the 100% complete trophy before some of the more fun character related ones! #17 LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes (PS Vita) I didn't think I would ever get this completed as the Justice League mode was a bit of a pain! (It actually took me 7 attempts to get the last gold lol) I really love the LEGO games anyway (kinda obvious I know!!) but I do enjoy them on the Vita as they are much easier to navigate around definitely will be picking up more of the Vita versions! Currently playing my way through the PS3 Batman 2 game so fingers crossed that will appear on this list soon. #18 LEGO The Hobbit (PS3) I was trying to get LEGO Marvel as my next platinum but picked up a couple of Vita LEGO games which included The Hobbit and randomly I decided to look back at my PS3 trophy list to see what I was missing. I noticed some easy ones such as "Equip Thorin with the Mithril Mushroom Crown" and "Use Gandalf's startle ability to dazzle 50 enemies" etc so decided to revisit it! And of course I got hooked and just as I was thinking oh I might give up for a bit now, I realised I only needed 17 more Mithril bricks to pretty much complete the rest of the trophies (and of course that pesky team building trophy) and there you have it, another LEGO trophy! I really enjoyed this game, I love when you have a map with everything marked on so you can dot around easily, and the Mithril brick missions were so much fun (apart from one race around Rivendell which must have taken me 20 attempts!!). #19 Magus (PS3) I had seen many mentions of this game on this forum - the worst game ever, easiest platinum ever, most shameful platinum ever etc etc. It was recently reduced to £1.48 so I though why the hell not? This game got people talking for mostly al the wrong reasons! But I am so pleased I bought it, ok so it's easy and a child could do it but wow it is just so awful that it is actually quite fun to play at times. I mean those UNICORNS? Seriously THEY were meant to be unicorns, mwahahaha! I find it astonishing that this game was only released LAST YEAR. I recommend if you haven't got this already and it's still cheap, buy it and wear the badge of shame with great pride #20 LEGO Ninjago: Nindroids (PS Vita) Back to a LEGO game for number 20! I wasn't sure I'd complete this one tbh as some of the timed challenges were a little tricky and then it seemed like you had to play the levels over and over but I made it! I loved this game, first non-movie related LEGO game I played and will be looking out for more of these titles. #21 The Testament of Sherlock Holmes (PS3) Quite a good storyline, different puzzles, interesting characters... just a shame the controls were quite bad! #22 Invizimals: The Lost Kingdom (PS3) This game was so much fun! Collecting all the different characters, sparks, idols etc was tricky at times as they were often well hidden but overall it was a straightforward and reasonably easy game. Will definitely pick up the other games! #23 Tales from the Borderlands (PS4) I really enjoy all the TellTale games so when I saw this reduced I had to have it!I I have played Borderlands but I was pretty bad at it so to be honet I wasn't really familiar with the characters, places etc but I thoroughly enjoyed this story, joint best TellTale game with The Walking Dead! Really hope they do more #24 Game of Thrones (PS4) Another TellTale game, can't get enough of them. Never read or seen Game of Thrones but always been interested to see what it's all about, and I see it's all doom and gloom haha! Looking forward to season 2! #25 LEGO Batman 3 (PS4) No surprise that another LEGO game appears in my list but I love them! This game wasn't as tricky as I thought it might be (I've still got most of Batman 2 to complete, not a big fan of the 'hub' environment in that game, and Marvel Superheroes has quite a few difficult gold bricks to collect so did expect Batman 3 to be like those!!) but still plenty to do and explore! #26 Megamind (PS3) Yep, I went there! It was a while since I achieved a platinum, I had focused a lot of my time on Watch Dogs (hope to platinum this one day!!) so wanted something a bit daft to play and Megamind is pretty dumb! Picked this up cheap with the next game on my list, and it was just as bad as everyone says! Every level pretty much identical, easy boss battles, simple trophies, disappointing, they could have done so much more with it! #27 Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs (PS3) Another very easy game, however, unlike Megamind this was much more fun with different things to do and a much better gaming experience all round. #28 Grim Fandango Remastered (PS4) Very interesting game, I enjoyed the storyline and really loved the character of Manny and the quests he had to go through for justice! Some trophies were a little tricky but the help of multiple game saves and a quick check online and I managed them all #29 Wonderbook: Book of Spells (PS3) First game I have played using Move, a camera or a Wonderbook! Didn't really know what to expect and although it was a pretty straightforward game (they could have included some trophies for house points as I know I sucked at some of the spells but still earned trophies!) I did enjoy it and am looking forward to playing more games in this way. #30 Rocket League (PS4) This game is definitely one of my faves ever and I hope they continue to release DLC packs for it (ok maybe not like DriveClub but another few would be good!!). It's a game you can come back to over and over again"! My nearly but not quite platinums AKA 75%+... (hopefully listing them here will give make me complete them!!) Goals Noticed in some other topics that people had attached their goals and achievements so decided to tie mine into my topic too 2014 year end totals: Trophies: 1151 Platinums: 5 Completion: 34.07% 2015 aim: Trophies: 2500 Platinums: 10 Completion: 50% 2015 year end totals: Trophies: 3312 Platinums: 24 Completion: 46.32% 2016 aim: Trophies: 5500 Platinums: 40 Completion: 55% 2016 so far: Trophies: 3715 Platinums: 30 Completion: 46.02% Edited April 2, 2016 by christine_uk

Aela
LEGO GAMES! How can you stand them!? I can't bring myself to playing any. First time I played a Lego game was on my PS2; and it should be my last. Your platinum collection seems to be going along fine, but you should try go for more of a challenge some time! I'd advise you contain each platinum within a spoiler - but that's just me. Moreover, I myself am thinking of starting a platinum collection thread. christine_uk
Thanks guys! Yeah I agree I definitely need more challenging platinums on my list! Hopefully that will happen but as I say sometimes I quickly move on to another game or if I get stuck I just tend to forget about it, but I promised myself this year I would try and work on my completion percentage so that should help in my quest for more platinum trophies. A few weeks ago I started playing all my incomplete LEGO games again which is how I got the HP and LEGO Movie platinums so if I do that with some of my other games then my total should rise in time! Haha I adore the LEGO games but I can see why they might not be for everyone! And I think when I have more to add to this topic I will start to use the spoiler tag but for just 9 I thought it would look ok for now

christine_uk
Oh, which sales? As predicted my 9th platinum was The Wolf Among Us, really enjoyed it and highly recommend it. Although I must admit it was much easier than TWD!

Updated my list to include platinum #10, not a difficult game as it's Where the Wild Things Are. But I enjoyed it, nice little story, collectables were a bit annoying though! Lego games are awesome don't listen to the haters the fact they have drop in drop out coop, they are great when having to entertain the younger relatives Grats on your list of platinums. If you're a huge madonna fan why not grab some singstar btw. I bust out the singing and do karaoke all the time. I like to think it has allowed me to acquire the voice of an angel. Nice start to a list , I love LEGO games too , they are perfect for I fancy a game but I only have half an hour. Or If you are not in the mood for a thick plot. zorba-da-greek
Awesome list! Very different from a lot of other people's lists, mainly due to The Lego Games. Anturak
Off your played list Terminator salvation is a nice quick and easy. Since you have festival of blood you should get the infamous games done again nice and easy and great games too
YimSiphny
Helloooo, nice list! Considering Lego Marvel Superheroes as it's supposed to be a great addition to the Lego series, and offers plenty to do... Is it worth a punt? Also, if you like the gentler platinum challenges then I'd recommend the Sly Cooper series... 1 and 2 especially (3 has some annoying mini-challenges)And +1 for the Infamous games!
christine_uk
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is great, it was a lot of fun. My first LEGO game I ever played was the Star Wars series on PS2. It is great fun, and the levels are much longer than in previous games (imo anyway) and so much more space to explore! Loving it I think that was my first LEGO game too, even without trophies I always tried to get to 100% complete! Thank you! Not big on singing tbh but might pick Singstar up sometime haha! Awesome list! Very different from a lot of other people's lists, mainly due to The Lego Games. Would you ever start a new series other than Lego Games, like God Of War or Assassin's Creed games? Thanks! I'm definitely thinking about getting Assassin's Creed, they look really good. And this month's PS Plus has one of the God of War games for the PS3 so will definitely be downloading it and trying it out Thanks for the recommendations! Off your played list Terminator salvation is a nice quick and easy. Since you have festival of blood you should get the infamous games done again nice and easy and great games too I have a confession - I am terrible at Terminator hahaha!!! I must be the only one. I got to the level where you have to shoot the towers and just died over and over. Will definitely play it again sometime though, a bit of practice and I'm sure I'll get past it eventually!! Love Infamous, I do keep going back to it to try and finish it off so one day I hopefully will platinum it really want to get the others in the series too! Helloooo, nice list! Considering Lego Marvel Superheroes as it's supposed to be a great addition to the Lego series, and offers plenty to do... Is it worth a punt? Also, if you like the gentler platinum challenges then I'd recommend the Sly Cooper series... 1 and 2 especially (3 has some annoying mini-challenges) And +1 for the Infamous games! Thanks! LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is great, I find the levels are much longer than in previous LEGO games and you have a boss fight at the end of each one. There seems to be a massive amount of space to explore outside the levels too so would definitely recommend it. I have the Sly Cooper games but didn't really like them, I will go back to them at some point though.
Kyomi-Okami
You know what else is great for short 30 minute sessions or less DMC. *hint* *hint* Lol ..
