Boooda
2nd most amount of posts and 0 trophies damn eff, I have to applaud your iPhone skills. I hate posting from the phone unless it's the only possible way. Anyways, Internet reset today so I'll be able to SYNCH THE TROPHY I EARNED IN OKAMI LAST NIGHT I'll share my thoughts on the hour I played before bed last night once I'm on my computer (ironically on my phone right now) but what I will say is that the game is gorgeous and I'm pretty intrigued by its story.

Boooda
So I finally gave okami's trophies a thorough look and it seems that as long as you get the 4 missable trophies, everything can be done in 1 playthrough Thankfully theres only 4 missable. Nothing ruins an RPG like a plethora of missables. Currently at 3/51 trophies.
DistantFox
Manage to grab a few more trophies in Freedom Wars. I wish there was more fighting in the game. There might be later on, but there is a lot of talking between missions. I realize I could replay missions, but I'm trying to advance to story for the we play. I'm usually one for talking and story in a game, but I don't really care for the story yet. Also, Mattias is really annoying, he is definitely not "the shaz".
Melanogaster1987
Catherine - Status Update #4 I'm now past stages 5 and 6, and have beaten the first part of stage 7. The stage 5 boss has been the hardest part of the game so far - that... thing moves so quickly - thank goodness for the "climb 2 blocks at a time" power-up! I had read that a lot of people find stage 6 very hard, but I surprised myself by breezing through the first 3 parts of it, and I found the boss only moderately difficullt. As long as you move quickly, the bomb blocks don't cause too many problems. Also, most levels now have 2 checkpoints, which helps a great deal. I'm going for what I assume is the "true lover" ending, and have almost maxed out the "karma" meter, but unfortunately, I've made some incorrect dialogue choices along the way, sending one of my drinking buddies to an early grave (RIP Morgan) . This means that the "One Last Case" and "Everyday Hero" trophies are now unobtainable for me on this playthrough. 17% trophy completion (11 of 50 trophies earned)
effdeegee
It's really nice to see this sudden influx in assigned games being played and the posts for updates on progress. Oddly enough, I seem to be at a point where my game couldn't possibly be any less appealing to me.

When you go back to clean up gold ranks on all the levels just ignore everybody but Morgan. Once he's saved you'll get both trophies. Also, are you focusing on gold as you go? or going to clean that up later? It's much easier to get the golds on normal using the select to reset the last move and the combo bar, but you don't get that in hard or Babel, so you might not want to get used to NOT using it. Boooda
Oh god why...why why why did I start playing San Andreas. I cant put this game down! I made time for Okami dont worry, I even got 3 more trophies! But god damn is it nostalgic playing San Andreas again, and getting trophies no less! Manage to grab a few more trophies in Freedom Wars. I agree the "story" so to speak, really killed the momentum of the game for me at times. Just keep pushing through and it opens up quite nicely. effdeegee
Just had another mini session with Castlevania. I finally (ugh) finished Chapter 2 and was shocked to see the next page of the book. Chapter 1 - 5 levels Chapter 2 - 9 levels Chapter 3 - 2... To be fair though, the first level of Chapter 3 was pretty damn long and, after finishing Chapter 2 with back to back boss battles, I was ready to pack it in. I took my one new trophy and got the hell outta there.
Popular Post kittyxiii
I'm alive! My classmates and I basically discovered on Monday that we had 1 week to complete an assignment we had completely forgotten about so along with continuing the one I've been working on I've had very little spare time doesn't mean that I haven't been ignoring FFX though! I'll talk more about that towards the end Good to hear you're liking FFX, gives me confidence in starting it back up. The grind isnt bad because theres so much to do, but when you just dont want to play it anymore, its awfully boring. That can be said about any game though Dust is a fun metroidvania style game, its also really short so I have no idea why its taken me almost a year to beat it The artstyle is amazing. haha I hope you enjoy it when you get around to it!! and yeah, I've heard that there isn't much variety in the game modes so it can be a bit of a drag. Dust sounds awesome! There's a group I'm subscribed to on YouTube that do a weekly game club and it's their game for next week so I'll be watching it closely I'm looking forward to seeing your opinion on Okami as well!! It's another game I've been keeping my eye on but I don't know much about it I do prefer sites like Crunchyroll and Hulu as they are legal and ad revenue goes to the anime publishers, which I would like to support them in some way. I'm not sure if Crunchyroll is available in the U.K. but the first episode is currently available for free users and the other three will be available on December 20. I guess I'll wait until Christmas and watch it then. I have a pretty good memory when it comes to stories so I'll have to see as to how they'll progress, as most of them are young adults and that part wasn't really of focus on the second series. The main highlight of the second series of Digimon was the first villain and I'll let you see as to how dastardly he is. The cast of the second series mainly has character development when it came to the second power-up, but that character development is done by actions that weren't previously done up to that point and won't occur once the episode is over so it's quite moot. There are some shows that are "monster-of-the-week" and the Digimon series does use that formula but at least there's character development, pacing for how powers are obtained and how the villain of the arc is defeated. Enough of me ranting on the second season and I'll let you see how it fares. It does look like you're almost done with the game as that's quite far into the story. Wakka does learn to think more for himself and it's good that he's seeing the BS in the world; too bad Lulu got the short-end in terms of character development as she gets one scene, which involves an optional dungeon, so her character could have easily been written out. Auron is an odd case as he doesn't really mature as he already has from his previous pilgrimage and is using that experience to aid the younger group. I'd say to save often as you're getting close to fighting Behemoths and Malboros and those could easily rout your team. In regards to Dynasty Warriors 8 I spent an hour on the first mission of the Wei story and I'm surprised that normal mode is challenging. I died three times before I was finally able to finish the chapter; one death was a single hit by Lu Bu at medium health, the second by a named officer while at low health, and the third was by ballistae that quickly depleted my full health bar. One thing I noticed during my retries is that shielding is very important as I was losing health rapidly if officers were able to juggle me in the air. I'm not confident if I'll be able to complete the game before New Years but I'll at least aim to finish the four main stories. Yeah that makes sense! You can get CR in the UK and there's an app for the PS3 but it's only worth it if you have a premium subscription (I've tried using it before and the adverts would either never appear throughout the episode or the next episode I watched they would be scattered continuously throughout it, and adverts would load absolutely fine but the episode itself would take forever to load just 5 minutes. Although this is just my experience with it, I'm sure others have had no problems with it ). I'll be sure to keep all of that in mind for the second season - hope you enjoy the movie when you get around to it! I totally see what you mean, especially where I'm at now. I think that I know which dungeon you're talking about (I can't remember the name of the Aeon you get at the end if you pay 200,000+, but I stumbled upon it by accident. I couldn't defeat the harder version of it though because it would always do one sweeping attack of 99,000 damage ) but it's a shame that aside from anything to do with Chappu she doesn't really get a deep story line. FFX has such a great range of characters! I think I know what battle you're talking about (Wei's 'Battle of Hulao Gate') and playing it on Easy was awful - I managed to do it on my 3rd try because I realised that playing as Yue Jin and completely ignoring Diaochan and Lu Bu was the only way I could complete the level the ballistae are the worst when your characters are low level, thankfully the defence skill really comes in useful when you level it up further, and characters that can jump twice (I can't remember the specific trait they have, but I know Wang Yuanji and Zhou Yu can do it) are great for getting around them. There are some parts in the story that can be ridiculously tough with low level characters, especially some of the hypothetical conditions you need to complete, but once they begin to level up you'll be kicking ass in no time So, FFX. I keep on thinking this week that I've made a fair amount of progress buuuut... Facing Seymour Flux (the third iteration on top of Galgamet Peak) set me back waaaaay too much. Heck, even navigating Galgamet Peak was so ridiculous that I had to have Tidus have firststrike on a weapon so the Nidhogg/Mech Leader/other dog-like creature trio would stop KOing me immediately as the battle started because they'd somehow get 6 moves from the get go after having Seymour's total annihilation move destroy me multiple times despite my characters being pretty OP to my knowledge I ended up having to do so much grindng to get more defence/magic defence/strength so that I could survive and kill him quickly. I managed to defeat him last night fiiiinally so I'm moving on! All I need now are some lvl 3 spheres so I can complete more of the grid and I'll be okay I'll be working on my assignments for most of this week but I'm hoping that I'll have the story completed this week so I can focus on the trophies that I'm missing. I haven't really looked over the list too much but I think I saw a 99,999 damage trophy - I have no idea how I'm going to accomplish that . I also picked up Murdered: Soul Suspect (which I've watched a little gameplay of and it seems interesting, but I've heard not so great things about it ) and Dynasty Warriors 7: Empires (I've heard good things about this iteration, but I've never been a fan of Xtreme Legends/Empire DW games so I have no idea how I'll cope) for £6 each, and RiceDigital finally dropped their El Psy Kongroo edition of Steins;Gate to £25 so I immediately got myself the Vita version. I might cleanse my gaming palette with one of these with so I can become more enthused about FFX but only time will tell Also, I had no idea how many likes I'd given out until the statistics came out I need to step up my trophy progress/posting game! It's awesome to see everyone getting their games and beginning to play them

Boooda
So im 4.5 hours into San Andreas and its awesome! Wait what? My assigned game isn't San Andreas? Shit... In all honesty this game has completely taken over me and I didt not play nearly as much Okami as I had planned to today. I did make progress but only less than an hours worth. Its a long game too so I gotta step my game up. I'll keep balancing Destiny grinding, San Andreas and Okami, and hopefully I'll be able to solely focus on Okami soon. No new trophy progress in Okami unfortunately.
effdeegee
Seeing as how the majority of posts have been about people playing games other than what they were assigned, I figured it'd only be my duty as a good host to continue the trend and flock with the birds and the feathers and whatnot. Castlevania has got me bored to tears so, I decided to start Trine 2 just to break up the monotony and score some quick trophy points in between sessions. It worked like a charm, too. I played for 1hr 29min and scored 6 x and 1 x

It's awesome to see everyone getting their games and beginning to play them Good luck with your school assignment and hopefully you won't be too stressed out soon. For the 99,000 damage trophy I would recommend using Bahamut's Megaflare as that allows the trophy to pop before you acquire Celestial Weapons for your crew. Unfortunately my Auron was a bit overpowered with a fully-powered Masamune and he killed the final Seymour in one hit, making it an anti-climatic boss fight. One problem with FFX is the leveling system as it's a double-edged sword; it allows for free character customization in terms of their skills, but it's difficult to tell just how strong a character is until they're in combat. As for Level 3 Key Spheres, I think there was an enemy in Zanarkand that rarely dropped it and it might as well be a good place to farm levels and a few of those spheres. Good purchases there and it's interesting to see how Murdered: Soul Suspect is as the swan song for that development studio. I've played a bit more of Dynasty Warriors 8 and I'll get into spoilers in a bit. Kitty is right in that the game becomes easier as you level up as the last three battles I had were was easier than the beginning chapters. Another thing I noticed about the game is how Koei Tecmo has hired some veteran voice actors as aside from Kyle Hebert providing his talents we also have Vic Mignogna voicing Jia Xu, a crafty tactician who uses a sweet sickle. I've gotten a bit more accustomed to horse combat as there was an escort mission that started off on a horse and I decided to do most of the mission like that. Luckily I noticed that horses provide good shielding against ballistae and I could ride to destroy them without getting flinched to death. Now I'll get into the bit of the story that I did get to. As mentioned before there's an escort mission and that was to lead the Emperor away from Lu Bu, who became a pushover and was easily defeated rather than a force that one-hit killed me. Cao Cao gained the trust of the Emperor after proclaiming his ambition to end the chaotic feuding, which led to some lords becoming alert of Cao's progress. In the next chapter Dian Wei got fatally injured while protecting Cao, giving Wei a pretty good sendoff as he did show loyalty in protecting his lord over his own skin. Jia Xu was the tactician behind Wei's death yet Cao recruited him for his intelligence, yet was unwilling to show the same fortune to Lu Bu later. I'll aim to do a few more chapters on Sunday and maybe even finish up the core of Wei's story then or by Monday. For now I'm 5/41 in regards to trophies. Boooda
The grinding in Destiny is chipping away at my soul. The worst part is that it rewards you with more experience by coming back day after day with their daily bounties/missions and crap. I wish I could just sit down and make A LOT of progress in one sitting, but its almost more benificial to chip away at it day by day, and its brutal. I played all of 15 minutes of Okami today, its great but its late on a Sunday night and im really not feelin it. I'll probably just pop in a bit of Fifa 16 for the night. I've got some tests/exams this week so dunno how much of Okami i'll play. Can't wait for christmas vacation, gonna go bananas on my backlog. Also still watching a lot of Trailer park boys, im on season 3 now and its still getting funnier and funnier. The best was during the season 2 finale when their weed trailer crashed and Julian gets out of the wreckage with his drink perfectly in his hand still
Mendant909
Played another five chapters today in Dynasty Warriors 8 and I'll go into spoilers as it's getting close to the climax. After a small conflict with Liu Piu next to some floodgates, the Yuan family challenged Cao Cao and lost due to their belief on social class determining superiority. Guo Jia showed signs of tuberculosis or a similar disease but managed to survive against the Yuans. Jia is weirdly powerful as he can cast some type of black hole that sucks enemies to it and makes it easy to juggle foes. The Shu and Wu kingdoms teamed up to fight Cao's forces and actually managed to rout a large portion of the infantry. Cao survived despite the loss and thought of the idea that peace might not come within his time. It looks like I'll be playing the Historical route first and I'll play as Wang Yi for the next battle to see what the first playable female warrior of the Wei kingdom is like. I'll finish up the Historical portion to the Wei campaign and then see what the Shu campaign is about; it's interesting to see how the Shu kindgom handled being wedged between the larger Wei and Su kingdoms and as to how it dealt with the fear of being conquered. I guess I should also get a bit further in Freedom Wars to catch up with the We Play.
