Okay, I just started on the backlog. Started up Gun*Gal Double Peace thought I wish I hadn't, but so far it doesn't look too perverted, just shooting girls with magic love shots and rubbing their bodies in a "Doki-Doki" mode tutorials. I chose the Bookworm Personality. Got my first trophies and nothing much. I am going to start playing Criminal Girls on the way to church to get a trophy there and set it into my account.

 

EDIT: Since nobody posted in the last 12 hours, I decided to update my progress as I had gotten the first trophy in Criminal Girls: Invite Only. Got all of the girls to Level 3 in the first "motivation" but Suko died when the first boss got a lucky critical hit on a normal attack and did massive damage to her so she's a little behind on EXP because she lost the EXP from defeating the boss so she's still at Level 3 in battle level while the others are at Level 4.

 

My plans on clearing these games will be to work on Digimon Story first and try to get my ultimate team for the final stretch and the online colosseum(since I need to win 30 battles there anyway). Once the plat is all but secured, or in mid-April, I will start working on Sly 2. Then in May I'll start on Secret of Mana to revive my completion %. Once Sly 2, Digimon Story and Secret of Mana are platinumed, I'll start work on the other games.

I did Claire myself recently. I did not like the nightmare mode. I have beaten two other games for spring fling; Its Spring Again and Midnight Deluxe. Im 80% through Baseball Riot right now.

What I found frustrating was that after playing nightmare mode, I had to run through on story (normal) as there weren't enough items for me to pick up to get Item Hoarder first time through. A lot more items available to pick up in story difficulty.

Even though I don't own a VITA, I have a raft of VITA games that I picked up "free" on PS+ just in case I ever got one.

 

Can VITA's still be bought for a reasonable price, or are they collector's items these days?

Looking at Amazon, you can get a new one for $240, but a used one is around $150.

 

There's also the option of getting a PS TV which runs at under $100 and can play the majority of Vita games.  If a lack of portability isn't an issue and you don't mind having no touchscreen that's the least expensive option.  Though having a portable system can be nice.  I play my Vita on breaks at work all the time.

 

Also, I'd like to update my list with some new games I got because nice meaty tax refund + bonus at work led to a spending spree on Vita VNs I missed.  I'll be adding Hakuoki: Edo Blossoms, Root Letter, Bad Apple Wars, Corpse Party: Blood Drive and Collar X Malice.

Buying a game system from a pawn shop is a bad idea.  A used game store at least will have some guarantee if something doesn't work, pawn shops don't tend to and typically will not allow for a return or exchange.  Considering they barely even test it to make sure it works and goes online before accepting it, you want some guarantee that they'll exchange it at minimum if something doesn't work.  This is true of new or used merchandise since even a new system can have problems right off.

@ladynadiad, I've personally had no issues with pawn shop games and systems. I've had more problems with GameStop used items than anything from a pawn shop or locally-owned used game store.

As you said, though, warranties are nice and do give peace of mind. Fortunately GameStop has a good warranty that I've actually needed to use... several times.

Sorry I haven't updated in a while because, well, been busy platinuming PS4 games and not touched my Vita in a long time. ?

Yeah, the only update has to be announce that I have long since platinumed Secret of Mana. I'm a failure.

 

Worse, it's not going to change much because I have so many events requiring me to platinum PS4 games, starting with trying to complete Shantae Half-Genie Hero. On the plus side, I have almost gotten the Vita plat for 36 Fragments of Midnight.

Yeah, I used to work for a console manufacturer and had to deal with some irate customers sold a bad console from a pawn shop that won't exchange it.  From my experience, pawn shops will do a basic check.  They check to make sure the console doesn't have obvious external damage, powers on and can get a picture.  They do not check to make sure the console can get an internet connection and can connect to the console's online service.  What we had happen at times was customer would buy used system and find out it's banned from going online because of what the previous owner did and the pawn shop won't exchange it, so the customer is stuck with a console that can only play offline and pretty much out whatever they paid.

 

So yeah because of that and many other customer experiences I'd never advise anyone to buy a console at a pawn shop or any sort of retailer that won't give at least a 30 day return/exchange period, and honestly I'd say this whether buying new or used.  Even a brand new console can be dead right out of the box, had that happen with my Vita.  It turned on and would have passed a basic check for functionality, but the battery wouldn't charge and it died after one use despite me buying it brand new.  Thank goodness for exchange policies, got another one that has been working great now for five years.

Great job. I plan on doing an update on everyones accomplishments soon. I have the same problem. As soon as I get rid of one, two more take its place.

No rush here. Just plug away with it when you can. My strategy is to complete at least one game a quarter. Maybe more if it is a short game.

Ive had my vita since feb 2016. I got it preowned from gamestop and have not had any issues yet. Now recently I did reget a 360 from gamestop and it took til a third different one to get one that worked. First one red ringed right out of the box, second would start but would freeze up on the game loading screens. The third finally has worked fine since but I told my daughter any issues and she can get the next one herself.

Update on my list  I mentioned above that I added 5 VNs to mine (CollarxMalice, Bad Apple Wars, Root Letter, Hakuoki: Edo Blossoms, and Corpse Party: Blood Drive) and already finished CollarxMalice.  Also made some great progress on Exist Archive and Tokyo Xanadu.  Well, at least if I was adding stuff it's all VNs that can be finished in 25 hours or less.  I might start Root Letter this week and knock that one off too.
