Bullstomp
Too bad Soccer Moms don't actually research things so this console will still sell like hotcakes come Christmas because a bunch of whiny kids will want COD DOGS Lol I was wondering if I was the only one thinking "Has Activision seriously had such a lapse of imagination that the selling point of their new CoD is dogs?" I'm a Battlefield fanboy who hates dogs so I could care less. But wouldn't it be cool if Battlefield 4 had an easter egg that introduces cats as a partner, to make fun of CoD? I would love that!

Dr_Mayus
But Ghosts isn't a TVbox exclusive. But why do you think they showed off the trailer at their conference. I know a few people myself that bought a 360 just so they could play the DLC early. I also met a few people who traded in their PS3 during the downtime (after the hacks) just so they could keep playing COD. My guess is MS is going to treat Ghosts as an exclusive and will be pushing it very hard at E3.

AndroidFox
What a shit article. 1. Xbox One hates your freedom "You take the disc, install “the bits” on every machine you have in your house from the same disc, and anybody in your household can play that game. You have exactly the same restrictions that you have today, as in only one of you can play that game at a time because you only have one disc." "You can take your game around to your friend’s house just as you would today — that’s assuming you have a physical disc — and what we’re doing with the new Live technology is that… with the disc, it’s just a repository for “the bits”. You can put that disc into his drive, you can play the game while you’re there, and then you go home and take that disc with you. But actually, “the bits” are still on his drive. If your friend decides that he really likes to play that game, then he can go buy it instantly, and it doesn’t need to download again. It’s already there. Once he’s paid for it, it’s immediately there." Also, Sony have only stated that used games will work on the console but that doesn't mean they won't have a fee. Chances are if Microsoft implement a fee system, Sony will as well. 2. Without Internet, it becomes a multi-hundred dollar paperweight "So, there is a lot of anxiety about “what if my Internet connection goes down” and you don’t have connectivity for a period of time. There are a host of features which will be usable without an Internet connection — watching movies, playing certain single player games… all of which will operate offline. We expect most of the more advanced experiences, like online multiplayer games, or games which have a lot of connected features… those games won’t operate if you don’t have an Internet connection. We designed the system to take advantage of a connection to the cloud, and all that that means. But no, it’s not required that you are connected all the time, every second of every day." 3. You can’t take out a restraining order against Kinect I agree that making Kinect a mandatory requirement is a stupid move. 4. It’s a Jack of all trades, master of none I sort of agree with this from what I have seen so far, but it's too early to tell. Microsoft might blow us away at E3. 5. Bill Gates doesn’t care about all the money you spent on Xbox 360 games Kaz Hirai doesn't care about all the money you spent on PlayStation 3 games, or PlayStation 2 games for that matter. What does Bill Gates have to do with this anyway? If you want to play current gen titles just keep your 360/PS3. 6. Bill Gates doesn’t even care about all the money you’re about to spend on Xbox One games Is the PlayStation 4's HDD removable? We don't know yet. Also all your game licenses and downloads will be tied to your user account so you won't have to repurchase anything if you console breaks, fucking hell even the current gen consoles have this feature. lordfenton
Here's the thing, the reason why COD was at the show is three reasons: 1) It's an shooter 2) Exclusive deal with Activision 3) It's at this current time the most popular game. The most popular does not equal to the best quality game. Still Xbox systems always been shooters whatever first or third person. Do not count out the casual market. They buy ANYTHING. If you don't believe me than why games like COD, SimCity, Diablo, SC 2 and the Wii sold like hotcakes. Those games/systems catered to the casual markets. They don't research and just buy what's in instead of taking the time to read the websites, watch videos, and comparing notes. Believe me Xbox One will sell in the US because of this. If it sells like the Wii than expect it to be like the Wii down the line when the casual craze on it dies down. There are so many problems with the Xbox One in my eyes that people should be wary. If this thing sells believe me DRM will be taken to an whole new level. Think Steam DRM, Online passes and the current forms of DRM is bad wait til this is out and set a new low and possible an repeat of 1983 crash. Yeah PS4 has the real name problem but the Kinect spying on you can create privacy issues to the point that Big Brother is spying on you. If people practice voting with their wallets and going with what they like not what your friends like than gaming would be much better. I'd say vote with your wallet folks and don't cave into peer pressure.

Am I the only one bothered by how it says "certain single player games" instead of "all SP games"? It stands to reason all SP games should function just fine, and games that do have MP but also have SP experiences should be ok too. That quote doesn't make me feel that way.

It is a very valid point and definitely a point of concern for anyone considering buying the system. Fortunately, I am not on that boat MTurismo, that picture is AWESOME!!! Fortunately, I am not on that boat MTurismo, that picture is AWESOME!!! Thanks! Neither will I. I liked the PS1, really liked my PS2, I love my PS3, I'm confident my feelings for the PS4 will be illegal in 37 States.
Myers
I'm still waiting until after E3 to start really picking apart both consoles. I think some of these ridiculous rumors/statements about the Xbox One will be elaborated on at E3..
skateak
My top 3 in no particular order. 1."Allways-on" 2. Mandatory Kinect 3. Indies can't self-publish. That is bull. They are usually the ones pushing innovation. I wonder if Respawn Entertainment regrets their rumored exclusivity deal with Microsoft.
