Renaissance Man trophy unobtainable.

There is a lot of misinformation and speculation surrounding this topic so I'm going to hijack the thread and direct attention here with the most accurate information I can from what I have seen about this.

 

As of the 5th of May something happened to the Battles of Kyrat multiplayer mode, it has started to load everyone into lobbies of the "overrun" DLC mode regardless of what mode was chosen or if we actually own that DLC (I do not) and will not launch the match, everyone is stuck in the lobby in a sort of "spectator mode", this happens every single time a game is searched for and that's only if the game doesn't crash immediately after pressing quickplay. No matter if we could connect and join, the game is only queuing into overrun, the one game mode not needed for the trophy. We are now stuck in this limbo of wondering when it will work again.

 

As of writing this (May 16) the trophy is completely unobtainable with no work around and our only hope being that of Ubisoft fixing their game and we all know how long that takes. Fortunately our one downfall is also the one saving grace, Ubisoft. For any other company a game this old would be dead in the water, released on 18th November 2014, almost 9 years old. Thankfully, as slow as they are to action it does still happen for their older titles with the most recent example being right now they are currently working maintenance on the online multiplayer of watchdogs 1, a game that came out on the 26th of May 2014, so actually a bit older then Farcry 4. Does this mean it will be fixed? No not necessarily but it gives us some hope in the fact that their older titles aren't just dead to them. I'm really curious as to how long the issues in Watchdogs 1 persisted for before this maintenance as I've not really found any reports in my quick search for it. In regards to this issue, it only started in game on the 5th (noted by the drop off of all trophy earners, among other reports from people playing that day) with support only realising this isn't a once off issue on around the 12th and even now they have no idea what is happening in detail, it was actually a few of us in this community that brought this to light for them. Which brings me to my next point -

 

This is a game wide issue affecting all platforms. I have been in contact with support regarding this and here was what I got so far:

I had opened a support ticket with them explaining the situation in detail, to which I was met with generic copy/paste stating that it must be my internet and advised me to port forward to resolve issues... for obvious reasons that didn't work. so I then went to the other avenues, @UbiSupport on twitter and among the ubisoft connect discord server with open support lines. This to me sounds like something is happening in regards to this, they just don't know when or won't say, can't tell.

 

Throughout the discord server we've had a couple of the support team requesting information and videos from us with nothing too major to report, but they ARE interested by the seems of it. You can see this in the imgur link that contains most of the communications on the issue. The most solid evidence I have in this being fixed at some point comes from when their response when I posted a video on twitter of the issues, with an almost instant response which is unheard of for Ubi, see here: https://twitter.com/TheGreaterMoose/status/1657441699264884736

So why make this thread? Ubisoft are only just becoming aware of this issue, with the way they work, the more traction a game has in their support circles the further up the list they are for fixes, while we're competing with the likes of Rainbow Six Siege and The Division 2, comparatively FC4 is dead in the water.

 

We need traction, even if you don't have or never played the game I urge you all to open a ticket, @them on twitter, join the discord server and make posts in the fc-player-support thread and just generally bug them about this issue for all us trophy hunters that are stuck without a means to achieve platinum, unobtainable trophies suck. Help a brother out and bring this problem up to Ubisoft.

There was a lot more to this message, but the part I want to point out is “Please be advised that the responsible team is aware of this issue, and a fix is being worked on” 

 

This is the first ever time throughout this whole ordeal that they have actually stated a fix was being worked on or even happening in the first place. This could mean absolutely anything even down to them completely closing the server, but as it stands, things are looking just a little more hopeful in this situation. 
 

I won’t update again until Ubi come out publicly and/or a fix has been or is being implemented, thanks.

I can concur that on PS4 the game is hard crashing every time I attempt to connect to the online multiplayer tonight.  I took a video and sent a tweet to their support account

Hi.. I have recently joined a boost group for this trophy. Obviously we have got nowhere as it’s currently broken. I can get them all to contact Ubisoft.. 

 

however, I don’t have Twitter.. what other method can I use to write to them? 
 

I started the game when I wasn’t a trophy hunter, along with many others. This year I’m trying to get all the online trophies before I’m hit with more closures. Just typical this is happening now when I’m actively trying to be on top of things!

Hi. I've been having this issue since May 6th.
A couple of days later, when trying to select the "Propaganda" mode, the game constantly crashed.
Now the game does not crash but it does not change anything.
I contacted Ubisoft support but for some reason they ignored me. Very strange situation...

They were under maintenance when I was writing this last night, might be fixed now. Not sure as I’ve not played it online.

It's very weird on when it decides to crash or put you into an overrun lobby, seems at random. Doesn't matter what is pressed still same result. UbiSupport has a long wait time, the more we bug them about this issue the faster a fix will come, hold out, contact them over and over, you won't necessarily get a response but what we need is numbers,more people bringing this issue up with them so they have no choice but to action. Thankyou very much for your help!

Ubisoft were probably tinkering with the back-end and messed something up in the process.

This would be it, either that or some weird attempt at a cash grab to make you buy the dlc mode that failed miserably. It seems like they just killed off the other game modes. With record number of players in years because of ps plus extra catalog there was money to be made. But no, usually when it comes to Ubisoft one of the Tinkerers * no idea the official title * would of just pressed a wrong button or deleted some code to randomise the matchmaking.

Well this is kind of disheartening, I never got around to finishing the Online trophies for this game. 

 

I really hope that they fix whatever is causing this issue, I don't think they would shut the servers off without prior warning especially because they gave a few months warning ahead of last year's mass server shutdown for a lot of old Ubisoft games. 

 

With any luck they come back online, and if they do I'll be finishing this game ASAP.

I don't see it being the end of days so to speak, just a major annoyance for who knows how long.I heldoff on this game for years, decide to start it around the 7th

Like I said in another thread, when/if the multiplayer works again, I would make it a priority to get the online trophies done on PS4 & PS3 versions if you have them.

 

I would even go as far as to say to get Far Cry 5 and Far Cry 6 PS4/PS5's online trophies done too. Ubisoft may be falling apart of the seams with their online server issues.

Has anyone tested this on ps3. I see a lot of the ps4 isn't working but what about that version. I mean it would be ridiculous if it did work and the newer version doesn't, but this is Ubisoft after all.

All versions across the board broken, had reports from people everywhere.

I’ll be straight in there before it breaks again. Good to know there will be a big flood of players when I am trying for this trophy. I guess the one upside to all this.

Unfortunately with pretty much the entirety of Ubisoft’s online catalog having something broken, FC4 is well down on their list. In saying that, it has only been just over 2 weeks, let’s just hope that it’s not months.
