Popular Post Venocide
UNDER CONSTRUCTION MAKING CHANGES Why did you choose this as your first plat? When I switched from Xbox to PS3 in 2013 Naruto UNSG was the latest game I got 1000/1000 on the 360 so I knew I could get the platinum trophy for this 100%. What did you think of it? Didn't really care for it, no where near as good as ninja storm 2. Lame story mode which featured just still images from the anime between battles. Its just one battle after the other. Also the story is very short and takes about 2-5 hours to complete. Gorgeous visuals though which really capture the feel of the anime/manga. 5/10 Why Ratchet & Clank? I played this to death on the PS2 and I was confident I could get the platinum. What did you think of it? The R&C series has kept me entertained for years and years on end. The first game in the series was no exception to the franchises success. The level design is fun and has massively playable areas, with plenty to do and kill and interact with. The graphics and sound are both extremely good and very well thought out and mirror the game perfectly. The up-gradable items as well are imaginative and different to other games - The glove of doom is fantastic. 8/10 Why Sonic Generations? Being a hardcore Sonic fan boy of course I was gonna aim for the generations plat. Well, at first I didn't think I could. I played it on the 360 but there was one achievement I couldn't get and that was the one where you mustn't get hit during the final boss. I decided to play through it anyway since I knew I could at least get most of the trophy's. Once I got most of them I decided to give the final boss trophy and I got it on my 3rd attempt. I went apeshit when it popped. What did you think of it? After a few terrible games (notably the 3D PS3 debut of Sonic The Hedgehog), the SEGA guys have really found their feet with the last few releases. After spending years trying to force Sonic to move with the times and embrace a more advanced three dimensional mechanic the fact remains, Sonic The Hedgehog simply works better in good old fashioned 2D. Sonic Generations is a collection of old and new classic Sonic levels. Could it recreate the things we remember so fondly from our time as kids? Dangerous territory there indeed.... But actually, it's incredible detail only improves the maps you probably remember from your childhood, such as Green Hill and Dr Robotnik's Metal Zone (I mean, Dr Eggman). The gameplay is fast and furious. Old Sonic is tiny and compete with little pot belly, which only makes the game better, whereas new Sonic is rather lanky and stupendously quick. You'll be met with a classic level followed by a series of special challenges in that zone (beat the clock, etc) to unlock the classic boss fight so this feels more like a Sonic exhibition game than a full story-driven feature but that's no bad thing at all. This is basically nostalgia all the way and rightly so. Both Sonic charachters get to play through the same maps, which means when playing as new Sonic you will get to see stuff like Green Hill Zone switched up into 3D and it actually works quite well, as the developers focus on speed and those "I'm going so fast if I hit an unexpected wall here I'm deaaaaaaad!" moments which Sonic games were built for. I'm rambling now.. Anyway, overall a phenomenal game and I hope to see future Sonic titles as good as Generations. 9/10 Why Borderlands? I owned it for PC and 360 and I beat it 100% on the Xbox so I got it again for PS3 since it was a guaranteed plat. I didn't mind playing it again because it's so fun. What did you think of it? This game is excellent! Simple. A mixture of COD, Mad Max and World of Warcraft, this mixture is fantastic. The gameplay is addictive, and you are constantly striving to complete one more quest. The guns are great, with millions of different variations and mods. The replay value has apparently been an issue of discussion with fanatics wanting to carry on through and complete the game two or three more times so that they can get the best guns in the game. This alone should indicate the addictive value to the story and gameplay. Each class has a different set of tools to use to get through the game (my personal favourite is the soldier with the turret spell) meaning that you can take time trying out different characters to suit your gaming style! The story is great, with plenty of witticisms from characters and NPC's such as the little robot that you befriend and the redneck buggy mechanic who seems to have an obsession with his mother! With plenty of jokes and a fun story, you really can't get bored following your adventurer from start to finish. 8/10 Why Ratchet & Clank 2? Never owned it on the PS2 and since I platted the first game I thought I'd give the 2nd game a try. What did you think? Ratchet and Clank 2 is pretty good. It takes the best bits out of games such as Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Jak and Daxter and the psone classic Croc 2 and puts the best bits into the game. Another good thing about this game is that they have added an RPG element to the game. This means that characters change through the game into stronger and more skilled characters. Also lots of new mini games have been added to make the game more fun. The only problem with this game is that it sometimes feels to similar the original. 7/10 Why Assassin's Creed II? This was the first game on the 360 I got 1000/1000 back in 2010 when I started achievement hunting. Again, I knew I could 100% it and another guaranteed plat. What did you think? I really enjoyed this game. The graphics and setting are excellent, with fantastically realised towns and cities alive with people and atmosphere. Good mixture of missions, varied gameplay, a good story and likable/enjoyable character to play. 9/10 Why Sonic's UGC? Again, another game I got 1000/1000 on the 360 (except I had the EU Mega Drive Ver.). Another guaranteed plat plus I grew up playing these games and it was a nice step back in time. What did you think? It always amazes me that no matter how old I get, I still love the mega drive as much as when that little blue hedgehog first dashed onto our screens. This collection of Sega classics will have you feeling like a kid again in the first 5 seconds of playing. Even though this is the third Sega compilation released for the playstation, the Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection is by far the best of them. Featuring over 40 classic games, this compilation features the entire Sonic the Hedgehog collection, as well as all three Streets of Rage and Golden Axe Games. Many reviews of this game claim that the games do not look any better in High Definition. I can tell you that they REALLY DO. The colours are much brighter and the graphics are sharper and crisper than ever before. Another great new feature is the ability to save and load the game at any time, rather than needing to restart the game over when you run out of lives. However, this game did a few things that annoyed me. First is the absence of the lock-on feature for Sonic & Knuckles. Sega chose not to include it due to time restraints and in my opinion, this was one of the best features about the sonic games. The other drawback (Only a personal preference) is that there are so many other games that are far better than some that made it onto this collection. Games like Desert Strike, World of Illusion, Mortal Kombat... But this game is still the best and most impressive looking collection of Mega Drive Games available and is essential for any fan of the Mega Drive looking to recapture that nostalgic feeling. 7/10 Why SMDUC? See plat #7 What did you think? See plat #7 Why Persona 4 Golden? Being a massive RPG fan and an owning a Vita I picked this up since the Vita was lacking RPG's at the time. What did you think? I will start off by saying that I had not played a Persona game prior to this, I bought it because it was the only RPG on the Vita at the time.... I can't recommend this game enough! It's a whole new experience and I haven't played anything like it before. It starts off fairly slow, but once you get a few hours in, that's it, you're hooked! When I first completed the game, I put more than 80 hours into it, and in that time I was not once where I was bored. In fact, once I was approaching the end I just wanted it to carry on, the main reason for that is due to the very in-depth character development. It's character development is it's strongest feature in my opinion. Developing these bonds helps you develop your personas and that of your teams. Its very rewarding, and you end up feeling that you really know these people, which is good because you feel for them and want to see them succeed. The characters themselves are all very likable and each have their own personality. I have not seen the use of characters used as strongly as in this game before, it's fantastically done, I can't exaggerate that enough! The battle system, while it seems the usual turn-based system, is kept fresh with a few features, such as knocking the enemies down and team attacks, it adds a whole new strategy to the battles. The story is fantastic, it keeps you guessing and adds loads of twists and turns, it kept me thinking even while I wasn't playing the game. It is a lengthy game, as I said, I have put over 80 hours into it. But as well as solving the mystery and battling the enemies, you also have to live the busy life of a teenager. It is at these points, that you have to go to school, get a job, develop your relationships with everyone as well as your own character. All of it is rewarding and worth investing your time in it. I wish I had been a Persona fan from when it started, but after playing this game (almost like living an alternate life rather than playing a game) I am now totally hooked. I'm just sad this experience had to end. This is my favorite game ever. every Vita owner has to play this! 10/10 Why Borderlands 2? Big fan of the original I had to pick up the second. What did you think? I thought borderlands was good. But B2 is amazing. Better graphics and music, plus tons of new features. The humor is still there and the main plot missions are a challenge. There are plenty of fetch/deliver sub missions which are all necessary to level you up so you can face the bosses. The introduction of aircraft for the enemy is well implemented and challenging. Also the later level mobs are really tricky, with movement patterns that make sniping a real challenge. 8/10 Why Hitman Absolution? Never was a big Hitman fan but a friend in what said I should get it. What did you think? I thought that this was a very good game, and it is very fun to play. What I love about it is you can choose how you kill your enemies, and it is very rewarding managing to kill someone sneakily. Also, the graphics and the scenery (especially in the first mission) are just beautiful. 9/10 Why Sly Cooper? I read that this was an easy plat so I bought the HD trilogy. What did you think? This game has this three features:great design in platforming levels, the good use of stealth to avoid the powerful henchmen that guards every treasure you will steal, almost right before their eyes. Beautiful and varied detailed cell-shaded environments and characters, that gives a comic book cartoon cool look, many gadgets to help in you missions, RPG like upgrading moves and a story of a revenging son when a father master of thievery is murdered because of his family, almost mystical thief's bible, the "Thievius Raccoonus".The only bad critic of the game for me, its over too soon. 7/10 Why Virtue's Last Reward? Not sure lol I think I just wanted a new game for my Vita. What did you think? Virtue's Last Reward had me absolutely gripped from start to finish. It was well written with great localisation, memorable characters and shocking plot twists aplenty! There are loads of puzzles and they're pretty tricky too, and the interface works really well with the Vita's touch screen. It was nice to hear the original Japanese voice acting, though I was pretty surprised there was no English voice option since the American release apparently had a dub. 8/10 Why NFS Hot Pursuit? I always buy the new NFS game when they come out. Plus I 1000/1000 this on the 360 soI was confident I could plat it on the PS3. What did you think? Forget this has Need for Speed in the title, this is a spiritual successor to the Burnout series from the same developer, Criterion, and there's nothing wrong with that! Great arcade style racer with some great set pieces which almost make you feel you're part of a Hollywood Blockbuster, good multiplayer and excellent variety of single player games, although at times the AI either feels far too easy and at others, like it's cheating. But I can live with that, as it looks so great! 8/10 Why Final Fantasy XIII-2? Big Final Fantasy fan so of course was gonna pick it up. What did you think? The main difference between this and the previous F XIII is that this one allows you to have a say on how the story goes (or at least that's the impression you get). From Live Triggers where you're given multiple choices on how to go about conversations between characters, to being able to freely move from one place (and time) to another, to being given loads of side quest missions among other things, this game is a lot more fun because it feels like you're actually a part of it and not just watching the game happening like it happened on FFXIII. 8/10 Why the Walking Dead? Very easy plat but I didn't buy it for that, it's a really good game. What did you think? Well, what can I say? This game took me completely by surprise in a very good way indeed. The cartoon comic graphics fit in surprisingly well, and the storyline of each episode (5 altogether) are very well put together and executed by the voice actors. While some may view this as more of an interactive film, I believe this adds to the playability. It has an excellent point and click system, which helps a great deal in some of the more frantic enemy encounters. What really struck me was the vast variety of choices you personally have to make to affect the entire game, the emotional impact this game has throughout. Why Infamous Second Son? When I first seen it during the PS4 announcement last year I wanted it! What did you think? There's no doubt that Infamous is a slick and beautiful looking game but what really strikes me about it is how fun it is to play. Whether you're running around Seattle and completing side missions or progressing with the main storyline and adding to your arsenal of superpowers the game is never dull. The game has put a smile on my face so many times already. I can see why some people feel that the storyline is too linear. It would have been great if Sucker Punch could have been influenced by Telltale Game's 'The Walking Dead' to develop the morality aspect of the game but considering that most games don't give you any option on how to progress through the main story I don't think this is a huge negative All in all I think that this is the first must-have PS4 game. It's a glossy, fresh and engaging game that is graphically superior to anything I've ever seen before and, most importantly, it's a hell of a lot of fun to play. Why Sound Shapes? Seemed like an easy play, and it was! Also I could cross save to the Vita and PS4 for 3 plats! What did you think? Not really much to say. It was alright, I heard a lot about death mode being a challenge and it put me off for a while but I breezed though it. Why...this game!? Easiest plat ever, can be achieved in 35 mins. I didn't but I could have If played it in one sitting. What did you think? It's a Japanese visual novel, enough said. Why Final Fantasy X? One of my favorite RPGs ever. I quit multiple times because I thought I'd never beat certain bosses but I kept going back and eventually nabbed the plat! What did you think? I remember playing this game when it originally came out and thinking it was the best game I had ever played. Now that it comes with its own sequel on one disc, well I had to have it again and relive the magic. The story line and gameplay have survived the test of time, are both still easily adopted and draw you in. The only dodgy element still remains the dialogue...some attempts to use colloquialisms still sounds remarkably forced - yet this is a minor problem. Why South Park TSOT? Big South Park and RPG fan, I had to get it of course but I waited for while so I could get a cheaper copy of the uncensored version. What did you think? As a South Park fan, this game is exactly what I've been waiting for. It looks and feels EXACTLY like the show, and Parker & Stone have been heavily involved from the get-go, so the writing and voice-acting is very much up to scratch. You start off by designing your own character, the "new kid", and learning how to battle in typical South Park fashion, with Cartman as your guide. The battle system is straight forward - the game is very much a turn-based RPG, and reminded me of Paper Mario or Costume Quest. It's simple enough, but there's plenty of items to collect, loads of sides-quests and an incredibly detailed town to explore. The game is incredibly funny, too. South Park has never been just toilet humour. The gross-out, over the top, "shocking" stuff is there, but that's not what makes South Park great. Stick of Truth is overloaded with parody, and I particularly enjoyed the tongue-in-cheek digs at various video-game tropes. The Walking Dead: I'm currently on Episode 2 but I'm struggling to continue, I think its because I've already completed it twice before (PS3 and 360). I will go back to it eventually, hopefully this year. Persona 4 Golden: I platted the European version in August last year so I decided to pick up the NA version. This is my favorite game ever and I'm close to platting it again. ^^ Final Fantasy X-2: Very close to platting but I spent more then 150 hours so I've decided to take a little break and play some other games. Other 5 trophies left and they're all Last Mission trophies. Edited June 21, 2015 by Venocide

Venocide
Awesome list Thanks, dude! Wow, this is probably the best checklist that I've seen, you've even added artwork for each game o: Really good, although there is a mistake with South Park - part of your description is outside of the spoiler >.< Fixed And thanks! I did work really hard on my checklist but I sort of gave up on it, as you can see I've earned twice as many platinum's since I last updated it exactly one year ago. I don't think many people cared for it, I think maybe I went a bit OTT when I added the "What Did You Think" section, nobody wants to read all that lol.
