crimsonidol38
Hope you enjoy it. I liked the idea of the story but the unlikeable characters ruined it for me. Yes, a certain Until Dawn fan tried to talk me to death with stories about how it's supposed to be that way because the game uses all horror clichés out there, but for me what works for a horror movie does not necessarily work for a horror game. The story was enjoyable as well as the scares, but the characters ruined the experience for me. This comment smellslikebullshit.

MStalker58
I haven't actually played more of my game since yesterday afternoon but I wanted to do a quick update. I played the first world and obtained four (out of twelve) trophies - three which come natural if you're good at fighting enemies and one which you will only ever get if you actually just go for it (phasing twenty times in one minute, which you will never do in normal gameplay). Apparently, this is enough to get an A rank. Seriously? I mean, I know it's been on PS+ but how can there be so many people who boot up the game without obtaining a single trophy? There's no way you have completed the first world without at least a couple of enemies destroying each other (which I got completely by accident) or by killing five enemies with stalactites (which is just common sense since it's so much easier than actual fighting). To compare: the only other game of this event for which I have obtained an A rank is Flame Over, and I had to play through the whole game (25/36 trophies) to get that! Okay granted I did not check when it turned into an A rank, but of all my other games I did not get to A, only getting B two times, four C's and two E's. Seeing as how fun this game is, I think it deserves more love. Don't look at me. I got 100% on that game. I'm guessing that a lot of people got the game from PS+, loaded it up, heard some of the sound effects, saw the graphics and the gameplay mechanics, said "Nope", turned it off and haven't played it again. I had to turn the volume down at times because some of those sound effects can get kind of annoying like when your health is very low at the beginning of the game or when you are bouncing into every wall looking for secrets. I wouldn't say I loved the game or anything, but it did exceed my expectations. Once you got into the game, it had that addictive quality to it. I started the game one day just to see what it was like and then got sidetracked with other things. Finally went back a month later and finished the entire game and trophies in one day. I believe we got that in the same month with Helldivers, P4AU, and Grid Autosport. As a 3rd or 4th option in the month's PS+ lineup, I had some fun with it. Also, those trophy rarities are misleading in terms of difficulty. The game has UR trophies but the hardest thing about them is whether you like the game at all and have the desire to finish it and find all the secrets. Nothing really tough if you enjoy the game though. The one trophy that could have been difficult is glitched in a positive way. I can at least somewhat understand people not earning many trophies in this game. What really baffles me is how people can't get certain trophies in other games. For example, in Mamorukun Curse! you get a trophy for making it to the main menu of the game. Seriously, all you have to do is load up the game and a trophy pops at the title screen. Still, that trophy isn't 100% somehow. Apparently 28 people loaded up the game and quit to the XMB before the title screen even loaded? Glad to hear you seem to be enjoying your early time with Deus Ex and The Evil Within. I really enjoyed both of those games. Hate that you are kind of having to rush to squeeze both of those games in at the end of the event. Hope you go back to them and enjoy both. Popular Post Oobedoob S Benubi
Game #10: Nova-111 Second dayTotal playtime: close to two hours A short update with some random thoughts because I didn't play that much today. - I realised that I have no idea how that's supposed to be a vehicle... I'm flying around in a yellow fridge. - Started on the second world. I like the aesthetics of this world less than the previous one, but other than that it's still fun. Levels are getting longer to get through (though not necessarily harder) - did the first world in about an hour and a half, and now I did the first bit part (of five or six or so) of the second world in over twenty minutes. At this rate I might not finish it tomorrow after all... It's still a very enjoyable game, Definitely going on the shortlist of games to completely play through after this event. Game #5: ChariotCo-op thoughtsTotal playtime: just the first level Well, today the missus finally wanted to game again... I figured before starting on LEGO Marvel's Avengers, I could try Chariot with her seeing as this event is still running and I want to know if she wants to play this with me. Well... I guess I'll be playing with myself (heheh). She thought the game was dull because there wasn't much to do and she felt like she was just following me and not really adding anything. Seeing as the levels later on get more interesting but for someone as bad with controllers as her also much more annoying, I decided to drop it and just move on to LEGO. Final recommendation: This is a very nice game to play in single player. Only attempt a co-op playthrough if you're both comfortable with each other and both good at platforming. Popular Post voodoo_eyes
Game 10 - Day 2 Hours played: 1 Trophies earned: 5/91 Got another hour in today. In the last mission I ended up losing my arm, and I pretty much guessed what would happen. Yup, exactly... now I'm part cyborg. Unfortunately I can't jump like a frog anymore as it seems someone else chooses what I'm to wear for the day. This time I can summon a riot shield, which is shit as I can't use a gun at the same time. I also am able to glue myself to walls to climb them. Who doesn't like to rub themselves against a wall from time to time? I ended up doing 2 missions today, and I'm starting to die less. It's definitely not as difficult as other COD games on veteran. I'm still encountering physics problems though. The last mission I played had a chase scene at the end. I'm trying to shoot the tires of the vehicle that's chasing me, but they must have gotten me a machine gun that shoots peas, as it has no effect. I gotta say though, it's probably the COD game I've had most fun with in years. Edited July 30, 2016 by voodoo_eyes

To think that I almost forgot to tell that some of the scientists are cats and bears and the like. This game can be so weird... Well, that's that... The end of a month. I'm glad to end it on such a fun game, I swear I didn't know this was from co-makers of PixelJunk Shooter or I would have started it earlier. So in the first hour and a half, I completed the first world. In the second hour and a half, I completed half of the second world... Yeah, the levels are getting much bigger. It's not a very tough game and all of the few times I died can be traced back to me being stupid. It requires a bit of thinking and moving without thinking can get you killed quickly. It's a relaxing game. chilled music, light colors, fun puzzles and turn based so you can take your time if you want (with a couple of real-time exceptions, by the way). I'd say it's probably more relaxing to play than PixelJunk Shooter, which is tougher and more aggrivating. If you haven't played this yet; give it a shot. Everyone on PS+ has it anyway. This is one of the games I played in the last month which I'm likely to go back to, perhaps even later today. Next: an overview of the whole month. Monday: a new event, which ensures I'll keep going on my backlog and buy less games. I like the gaming road I'm on right now and I want to continue on it. I'll try to first do games I have already started on, and keep unplayed games for the next time we do an unplayed games month. I hope you know that the "you should feel ashamed" wasn't serious. Like you can see there are some people that feel similar. I guess the best thing one can do is to not get in a heated discussion. It's meaningless to worsen the own mood just because you got in a discussion with people that are triggered by certain keywords. Just let them post their copy-paste-statement and try to ignore it.That's at least my way of handling those people.

PS+ in May 2016.I usually don't play construction games that much but this is definitely a game I want to go back to. Nice music, many options and difficult but rewarding. #2: Flame Over (on PS4). Final thoughts on last day. PS+ in March 2016.It didn't appeal to me at first but I'm glad I kept on going. On of the games I enjoyed most in the end, and the only one which I finished during the event. Will play the Vita version at some point. #3: Yakuza 4 (on PS3). Final thoughts on last day. PS+ in February 2015.It showed promise but what a drag this game became. I dubbed it "Adult Entertainment Industry Manager" and I stand by that. A game called "Yakuza" should try to lure me in with intrigue (like Sleeping Dogs did), not make me choose a woman's clothing she can wear while she chats up dudes. #4: ZOMBI (on PS4). Final thoughts on last day. PS+ in April 2016.The only game I put on the 'abandoned' pile in my backlog which still manages to get a bronze. I enjoyed a lot of this game but there's too much about the gameplay that puts me off. A stupid death system and being a stealth game that gets loads of zerg rushes are the two biggest flaws. #5: Chariot (on PS3). Final thoughts on last day. PS+ in October 2015.Fun little puzzle game which I will definitely continue on some day. The only downside is that the game is stylised for two players while only a rare few will play in co-op because you both need to be good at platforming to be able to enjoy this. The game is still very enjoyable on your own. #6: Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 (on PS3). Final thoughts on last day. PS+ in May 2016.During my final review I said "This is a game I'll use as an argument for years when talking about mediocre games with some potential being killed by laggy, when not outright broken, controls" and taking the time to figure out what to say more feels like a waste. #7: SSX (on PS3). Final thoughts on last day. PS+ in December 2015.Not a snowboarding game but a Tony Hawk game in disguise. Combining bad level design with moronic excuses for story and characters, I just couldn't bring myself to care for it. #8: Grid Autosport (on PS3). Final thoughts on last day. PS+ in February 2016.I would have liked to give this game more time and another chance. Based on the fun the co-op was, I'm willing to give this game the benefit of the doubt for now even though my bad first experience with the career. #9: MouseCraft (on PS4). Final thoughts on last day. PS+ in July 2015.This game has some nice ideas but just falls short for me. In the end it just is not compelling in any way. Such a shame since it started out feeling like a lot of fun. #10: Nova-111 (on PS4). Final thoughts on last day. PS+ in February 2016.A lot of fun can be had with this game. If you liked PixelJunk Shooter (Ultimate was on PS+ for PS4 in June 2014) and are not bothered by turn-based elements or if you just like puzzle exploration, you have no reason not to try this. Final thoughts on the event:Yeah this was a lot of fun. My completion percentage wasn't crushed nearly as much as I thought it would be, but that's when you get when you just start ten games and keep playing in them for hours instead of getting one trophy and moving on to the next until you have no unplayed game in your backlog left. I prefer this approach. I really enjoyed the last month, even though I've played some horrible games which are now on my card forever, because I also got to know a lot of fun games (Tropico 5, Flame Over and Nova-111 being the top three) all of which I wouldn't have played for months or ever if I hadn't signed up for this event. Count me in for the next one. Edited July 30, 2016 by BillyHorrible

Popular Post Hemiak
Game 9 - Deus Ex: Human RevolutionTime: 3.5 hrs.7/60 trophiesGot a good 3 hours with the game last night. So I'll probably focus on TEW tonight, and do final reviews tomorrow. I was initially planning on a playing a bit and then switching, but I just decided to knock out all my time with the game at once so I could get into it more and really get a better feel for it.I didn't really talk about the controls in my first update, so here we go. This is one of those games I was ranting about in my TEW update yesterday. There is only one control scheme and you can't change anything.... And I really want to. To sprint you hold L2, and to sneak you hit L3. O.o Also, pulling up iron sites/aiming is r3, while you hold L1 to enter cover. O performs takedowns when in sneak mode which is fine, x jumps and square is your action button. If I had a quarter for every time ive screwed up the sprint/aim/sneak buttons I would already have enough to buy a knife to stab the developer in the face. Seriously guys, if you're going to be dicks and not let me customize the controls, at least do it the same way every other game does so I don't have to bother learning a new scheme. Nothing breaks immersion like dying because the controls aren't what you're expecting. All that being said, the game is very fluid and moves very well. You also have a mini map that tracks enemies and their state of alert. You can get a few upgrades that make it perform better, but it can get a bit cluttered at times and be hard to make out individual enemies.Back to the game. Remember how I said Adam was "no worse the wear?" That was either a gross exaggeration or understatement, depending on your POV. Apparently while your boss was having your life saved he took the opportunity to implant you with every single augmentation known to man. However, knowing what a shock this would be to anyone, much less a person who had it done without consent, he kindly left most of your upgrades in standby mode. They're supposed to eventually turn on on there own, but you can use your upgrade points to activate them whenever you want. The upgrades come in about 10 varieties, and allow you to customize your self to be either sneakier or tougher, depending on play style. After a couple conversations we set out on our first real mission, some bad guys have broken into another of our facilities and SWAT is ready to burst in there guns blazing. The boss man convinces them to let you roll in and see if you can solve the problem in house before getting the popo involved. On the way in he asks me if I'm going in guns blazing or more sneaky style, then asks me if I want something ranged or for close in. He ends up giving me a tranquilizer gun and 10 rounds. From the start I notice there are two or three different options for getting through the first area. I try taking out the three guards stealthily a couple times then realize I can just climb some boxes off the the side and sneak around the entire area. I'm trying to play sneaky, but I'll go toe to toe and kill peeps if I get cornered. By the end of the level I've got three different types of guns I can use if I'm desperate. When I reach the final enemy I'm able to either fight him, shoot him or try to talk him down. I use the 3rd option and let him go after picking several different dialogue options. As the level ends I'm reminded that I never actually got around to saving the hostages... Oops.Back at the corporate office I talk to a couple more people and then I'm given two different quests. On my mini map and screen they're listed as M5 and M6, for main quest I believe. As I walk around I realize most people have generic names like Civilian, or Employee. The people with actual names all end up either having info or new quests for me. These show up as S2 and S3, and eventually S5. At one point there are 5 different S3 markers on my screen, each with its own proximity counter. All the S markers are blue while the M ones are yellow. This brings me to another point. All interact able items have a yellow / gold outline, to let you know what I'd worth looking at. Problem is there are a million cardboard boxes lying around that all glow, and half the buildings and crap laying around are also yellow or orange. Which meaning this isn't nearly as useful as it sounds.I leave the office, run around and knock out the nect story mission, which was basically just a meet and greet with the upgrade place. Then I ran around and completed the next two side missions, giving me some cash and a couple extra upgrade points.I was excited to check this game out and it didn't disappoint. I've quite enjoyed the time spent with this game so far and am looking forward to getting back to it in the next month.Fun: 8.5/10Difficulty: 4/10Mims thoughts: Eh, it's OK. Popular Post MarkusT1992
Until Dawn (Day 3) I didn't do an update yesterday because nothing interesting happened. I played a bit and I think everthing so far was only the beginning. I'm in chapter 4 or 5, can'T remember right now. Thst must be about half of the game. Each chapter are the event in one hour similar to 24 where each episode was one hour. After each chapter you are at the psychologist and do your test then you get a previously on The Walking Dead Until Dawn. Did I mention that every character can die in this game? Today my first character died. I wanted to let everyone survive but whatever. I think I didn't write about the controlls either. You walk with the left stick and move your flashlight or any other light source you have with the right stick. With you can exmine things and grab them with . Whil grabing things you can use theright stick to move them. Aometimes you have to use the touchpad to turn over pages in a book. There are also QTEs which are very short sometimes. These determin if you have succes or fail something. There's also a don't move thing where you have to hold the controller without moving it. It's an ok game but I see was Billy meant by the character being forgetful. To top this all the German speakers sound like they recorded there lines with a normal microfone instead in a professional recording studio. Tomorrow I wil write my final thoughts on the event.
Popular Post MStalker58
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Final Day Trophies: 3/61 (3%) Finally got some more time with Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and it's been a mix of good and bad. Let's start with the good and that's the combat. The action has remained intense and fast paced. The game really makes you feel like a powerful badass while you are shredding through enemies. The other day I mentioned Blade Mode and the ability to rip out the hearts of enemies. They aren't actually hearts since they are cyborgs but I can't remember their actual name so we'll call them hearts. Anyways, this is the mechanism the game uses to regain your health. There is no passive health regeneration and simply killing enemies will do you no good. Instead, you have to weaken enemies, enter Blade Mode and snatch their hearts in order to regenerate your health and FC energy levels. Also, certain higher ranking enemies carry important information stored in their left hands. To get these you need to use blade mode to cut off their hands before killing them. These things add some interesting twists to the combat. There is also the ability to sneak kill enemies in certain sections. These aren't great stealth sections or anything, but it's nice to have that ability at times. During these parts, the enemies will have the iconic exclamation marks on top of their heads if they notice you. That was a nice touch and reference to the main MGS games. Oh yeah, forgot to mention that you are ranked for some fights. These are mostly boss fights or unavoidable confrontations and adds some replayability to the game if you are trying to get the perfect ranks. I've fought a couple of new bosses the past couple of days. The first was Blade Wolf. He was an AI mechanical wolf with a chainsaw attached to it's back and whose tail shoots knives at you. No, I didn't make that up. About what you would expect from Kojima and a Metal Gear boss. Another cool fight was against a helicopter. The enemy wasn't anything special, but how you took him down was pretty badass. After weakening him, he'll start shooting rockets at you. Using your Ninja Run you use the rockets as stepping stones to reach the helicopter in the air and slice him into pieces. Those were some of the highlights, but there was also some bad. Throughout the game, you can learn more of the background and story of the game through codecs with 4 members of your crew. In small doses, these can be interesting and some of the references to the MGS series can be funny at times. However, if you want to view all the codes you can and get the most dialogue, these can drag on forever and ruin any pace of the game. Seriously, each codec can ramble on for minutes on topics like PMC's, morality of war, history lessons and political analysis of countries like Georgia and Russia, a philosophical debate on the evolutionary meaning of pain, the history of martial arts, the development of the Turing test to determine if a machine was actually an AI, and on and on and on. If you've ever played a MGS game, this shouldn't come as much of a surprise and it's what you would expect from Kojima. Still, it just doesn't fit in with the fast paced action and goes on way too long at times. Luckily, if you don't give a shit about the story or any of this, you can just skip them all. There is a trophy for listening to the majority of them though.
Popular Post Mendant909
Game #10 Day 3 Why do people defend this Sonic game? The story should simply be Sonic restoring the planet, but nope, Sonic has to go through hubs to find the next level, collect enough medallions for the next level, see a cutscene for Eggman to explain his plan, go to the hubworld to get the next destination from the professor, repeat. Back in Sonic Adventure 2 there was Sonic trying to get away from the police, Knuckles restoring the Master Emerald, Tails saving Sonic from jail, and then all three of the heroes go to space to stop the villains. SA2 was rated E, just like Unleashed, but it treated its audience with respect and used its cutscenes for spectacle or to quickly transition to the next level; there was no BS of a character offering chocolate from his ass, walking from one place, loading, to another place to get to the next level, or playing for over twenty minutes in the worst God of War ripoff ever. The Werehog levels consist of punching enemies and doing platforming sections, both of which are vomitrocious. Combat fails as enemies could be defeated with QTEs, but if you fail them and by goodness they're hard to do when the framerate drops, not only do you lose health but the enemy gains full health again. I complained about Darksiders not knowing when to stop sending enemies, at least that game actually had challenging enemies rather than sending barrages of common goons. Animations are messed up in a weird way as a defeated enemy can restart their death animation if you punch them, meaning there's dead weight clogging the screen. Lighting is a major problem in this game as it feels like a PS2 with a hack HD upgrade, like how Pier Solar had its HD version be too dark to tell what was and wasn't a door. There's a level in faux-China that requires the grabbing of an object to leap, but since it was too dark to see where it was I kept thinking there was a platform to jump to and I kept dying because I couldn't see what I needed to move on. Even while trying to grab a ledge to move on the game is dodgy on when a platform can be grabbed on, meaning that I died a few times when in a decent game I wouldn't have had that frustration. The camera is the absolute worst during the Werehog levels as any attempts to control it would make you vomit from it being a shaky cam, how did this camera system get approved?! I did replay the Rooftop Run level on Sonic Generations and it was far better. There were less ledges to stop the movement, less bottomless pits and spike traps, and the section of moving between buildings wasn't a stop and go disaster. Of course Unleashed is going to be another miss, I just have to decide if this is worse than Beyond: Two Souls before I give my final thoughts tomorrow.
