Popular Post crimsonidol38
Game #10: Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland () Didn't play much on Friday (only 15 minutes or so) so this will be the second and last update. Yesterday I played for another one and a half hour, bringing the total play time just above three hours. In this time I was able to fulfill some minor requests and to raise the friendship level towards the first party member Cordelia above 20 points (of 100 points). By now I'm also able to kill most of the basic enemies in less than four hits as I hired Rorona's friend Iksel, who's a chef. The interesting thing is: Even though Iksel is a friend, he wants to get payed for the trips to the gathering points. Seems like every friend except Cordelia requests a given amount of money. Great friends! While I had Iksel in my party I also learned that some characters may trigger additional item drops. As Iksel is a chef he seems to be able to find some additional food resources in the levels. I activated another area (some ruins) but didn't explore them that much. After that the first three in-game months were over, presenting me with the dialog for fulfilling the first assignment. Can't say anything about the follwing dialogs as I quitted the game afterwards. Final thoughts: Atelier Rorona was a game I was eager to play but that disappointed me rather fast. The whole game feels like an ordeal in the first few hours. You get too many gameplay-systems with only rough explanations, you aren't able to handle the simplest enemies at first (up till now I don't even know when and how I will be able to obtain new weapons), and the game's design is also from the bottom of the bin. The game looks like straight from 2000/2001 and the music is pure boredom. I normally don't care that much about graphics but everytime I have to see the 3D-models I feel like I have to vomit. I hope this game will turn out similar to Hyperdimension Neptunia. I really hated the first installment but once I played the second one, mk2, I started to like the series. I guess there will be a loooooooooooooong break before I will approach this game, again. Stats:Total playing time: 3 hoursTrophies earned: 2 / 53Completion rate: 2%Rank: EDid the game lower my completion? Yes A summary about the event will follow soon. Popular Post voodoo_eyes
Final overview Trophies earned: 115/497 Completion rate lost: 2,42% Best to Worst: Transistor - Had a lot of fun with it and is an overall solid game with cool mechanics. MotoGP13 - This one is sort of the hidden gem, had a blast with it and I generally don't enjoy racing sims that much (I even ordered MotoGP14 now). Call of Duty Advanced Warfare - What can I say, I had my fun with it even though the AI is dumb as fuck. Crysis - I like stealth games and this one gives the option to do so Fun with some trial and error going on. Star Wars The Clone Wars Republic Heroes + Everybody's Gone to the Rapture - First game broke a couple of missions in, which was unfortunate as it's a fun game, that has some camera issues, but I would've liked playing more of it. The 2nd game, has some issues in getting the story going, nevertheless I'm interested in knowing what happens. Dynasty Warriors 7 Empires - There's a lot do do in this one, the problem with this type of game is that it gets repetitive fast and some options are limited depending on the character you use. Far Cry Classic - It's an ugly game by today's standards, but it's a shooter that gets away with it as long as the core gameplay is alright, which it is. Just a tad too generic. One Piece Unlimited World Red - The constant going back and forth kills this game and the camera is a shitfest. These games seem to have a massive difficulty in getting the camera distance right that would suit this genre. Superstars V8 Racing - Too generic, not enough modes, too few cars and tracks. Just lacking overall. I'm probably not going back to this one, except for completing one championship maybe. Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion XL - Not fond of this one at all, There's just too much stuff that wasn't done right. I'm still not sure, if I ever boot this up again. Although I might try to finish the story mode at some point. Other games played during this event: Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (100%) Star Trek ( ) Ratchet & Clank: Q-Force (piece of shit game; 23%) God of War: Ghost of Sparta ( ) Steins Gate ( ) SOMA (100%) Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2 (52%) WRC 5 (73%) Neverwinter (12%) Back to the Future: Episode 1 (100%) Bigfest (59%) Sam & Max - Beyond Time and Space: Episode 1 (100%) Was a cool event and had fun participating. I hope the others had fun with it as well, and that those that were spectating got some enjoyment out of it too. I'd be up for another one of these in a couple of months maybe, The next couple of months will be dedicated to actually completing some games . Popular Post Oobedoob S Benubi
Aftermath Games left to do: Games done: Finished Nova-111 today. The first game after the event I finish, second total (Flame Over was finished during the event). The game remained compelling throughout the run. Unlike PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate (which is a lot longer and, as I've been told, is a compilation of two separate games), Nova-111 doesn't overstay its welcome. It keeps finding new ways of teasing you with puzzles, and it always seems very intuitive. A hasty gamer might get in trouble with this game but keep your head cool and you should be fine. I might just go back to my regular gaming now (DOOM and Bloodborne are two which I really want to get back to), but there's some games left in there which I really want to go back to. Tropico stands out as a game I want to see more of, especially since it's just about the only big game in its genre out on PS4. Chariot also stands a good chance of being played soon. Sorry if this post annoys anyone. I thought it'd be fun to keep track of what actually gets played after the event.

Only downside: I still don't like the music.Game #2: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in ManhattanPlaying time: ~7 hoursTrophies earned: 15 / 51 (24% completion, Rank: C)Played after time slot? NoFinal summary: I will finish the story mode but I don't know if I will do anything else besides that. Some of the trophies are luck-based and the game relies on online coop and I'm not the type of person that likes to play online. Expected more of this tbh, but IMO it's not as bad as reviewers say.Game #3: Zone of the Enders HD EditionPlaying time: ~3 hoursTrophies earned: 6 / 25 (16% completion, Rank: D)Played after time slot? And what can I say? Story is sub-par, gameplay's not as good as Vanillaware-games, battle music is horrible but I somehow liked it. I'm just a mere hour before the plat pops so yeah, Kill Your Completion my ass! Game #6: The Secret of Monkey Island: Special EditionPlaying time: ~3 hoursTrophies earned: 4 / 12 (28% completion, Rank: D)Played after time slot? YesTrophies earned afterwards: 24 / 32 (81% completion, Rank: C)Final summary: This game surpassed my expectations. I thought this would be an idol management with minimal rhythm gameplay but it's the other way round. Definitely my personal highlight of the event. I will go for this game's plat and for the other two volumes. And it's fun to see that I still have a C-rank with 81% completion. You can directly see that this game is most likely played for the easy trophies. For me a basic criteria is the fact whether I really want to finish more than the game's story (if there's one). If I want to, it's a good sign. Otherwise it's a mediocre game.Final words about the event:It was a fun idea to try out several games that dwell in the backlog for a few days before switching to a new one. My girlfriend already said that I should do this every now and then. Still I'm glad that the event is over for now as I really want to continue some games I put on halt (I need my fix of Wild Arms 3 so bad... ) but if there's a followup event in a few months (October, November?) I will join for sure. I also want to give a special shout out to Mendant909:It was really fun to write with you about some of the games and to read your opinions. I hope you will have fun completing Sorcery Saga and shove the chocolate right back into Chip's ass (--> Sonic Unleashed). Now I know again why I disliked Unleashed so much. But I also want to thank all the other participants and the random guys and gals who joined the discussion. That just means that I'll save the unplayed PS+ games I know nothing about for that month :-) Such an event wouldn't work for me. There's too much goodness that will release in the next few months that I already have preordered (currently counting 7 games and there might be another one or two added). And on top of that are various Kickstarter-rewards that may come this year, one being the recent release of Hyper Light Drifter. The only thing I try to accomplish is to finish more games than buying new ones (Kickstarter excluded as I never know when they might release). And this works more or less good so far. Including preorders I'm at 35 games I bought and 31 I finished.
Popular Post Hemiak
Loving reading everybody's summary of all their games and experiences. I know I've said it before, but you guys have really made an awesome effort and this thing has turned out as good as I could have possibly hoped. I appreciate each and every one of you, and your contributions to the event. I unfortunately did not get a chance to play TEW yesterday. It was my week to be the paperwork mule so I had to make an extra trip downtown at 9:30pm last night (almost 1.5 hours total trip). My wife is still feeling like shit so I hung out with her when I got back, and then decided to play something mellow to help her fall asleep. Played some Journey, which I'm now almost done with. Long story short, at 1:30am she still hadn't fallen asleep she was so miserable, so we decided to go to bed. I'm going into extra innings and I'll be playing TEW come Hell or Highwater tonight, with my final update on that game tomorrow. I'm pretty sure I have enough info so far to do my final update though, so I'm gonna go ahead and crank that out. Starting: 73.67%, Ending: 71.06% (-2.51%) I haven't earned a trophy in TEW or Echochrome yet though, so that'll go down a bit more.I only played two unauthorized games during the session, earning 2 trophies in Hyperdimension Neptunia, and about 8 in Journey. These are the games that really really hooked me. Dragon's Dogma - 3.5 hrs played, 9/51 trophies, E, will I plat?: definitely... eventually really glad this one made the cut. I was on the fence about starting it during the event initially since it's a long plat, but I probably had more fun with this than anything else. Helldivers - 4.5 hrs, 12/40, C, plat?: maybe This was a terrific little game. Not a ton of content, but it's done so well that you just want to keep playing. These games were a lot of fun to play. Deus Ex - 3.5 hrs played, 7/60, E, plat?: definitely I really liked this game. It wasn't perfect, but it's definitely good enough to stick with. As long as 'Foxiest of the Hounds' doesn't glitch or something, I'll definitely earn this plat. The Evil Within - .5 hrs played, 0/72, F, plat?: probably This game is intriguing so far. I haven't gotten to spend nearly as much time as I wanted with it yet, but that'll be remedied very soon. It's still possible that it will move up into platinum rank. I highly doubt with my love of this genre that it will drop any lower than this. SSX - 7.5 hrs, 9/37, C, plat? probably This game was better than I was expecting. It's only got a couple game modes, but they're all pretty fun. The game handles well and once you know what you're doing, racking up big points isn't too bad. The plat is a bit of a grind so it might take a while, but I'll get there eventually. These games were pretty good, but nothing super special Ico - 3.5 hrs, 4/16, D, plat?: definitely The game is interesting. The controls and visuals are obviously outdated, but it's more the barebones story that didn't quite do it for me. The game is relatively short and hey, it has a speed run trophy. So I'll definitely finish this off at some point. Starwhal - 3.5 hrs, 12/23, A, plat?: definitely This game was quirky and fun. It's not super deep, has no story, and some of the trophies are pretty grindy. I think I'm going to make this plat 100, because 'Cosmic Baller' is an awesome title. Book of Unwritten Tales - 3 hrs, 6/51, E, plat?: probably This game didn't grab my wife, which was 90% of the reason I bought it. We'll probably go back to it and finish it off at some point. Meh Greg Hastings Paintball 2 - 3 hrs, 12/30, plat?: probably... eventually The game is pretty cheesy. The animations are a bit off, and it's not particularly deep. However, it's got a relatively easy UR plat, so I'll get back to it at some point. Games that just didn't work for me at all. Echochrome - 1.5 hrs, 0/10, 100%?: unlikely This game takes itself too seriously I think. I really like puzzle games, but the austere graphics and complete lack of anything else just didn't do much to pull me in.

I have already pre-ordered 3 games (No Man's Sky, Fractured Butthole, Horizon Zero Dawn) but I discussed in the thread (and the owner agreed) that they don't count since I pre-ordered them long before starting the event. The three games I can buy next to this are probably VR games. I'll probably end up with a shame list as well but I'm going to try to buy as little as possible. Last year I got my backlog down so this next year I want to focus on keeping it down and working on my PS+ backlog as well. This event should help me focus on that. Popular Post effdeegee
My final thoughts: I killed my completion by 1.72%, scored 200+ trophies, and it was a decent way to take up the month. Props to the crew that stuck around and a big fuck you to the flake outs (and omg I don't mean Rach). 10 PS Move games and a long awaited zombie co-op made for a nice month of gaming. Almost all of the games were pleasant surprises, now making the PS Move an underrated peripheral, in my opinion. Those that bitch must not have any experience with it. Thank you and congratulations to Hemiak for the cool event.

Popular Post MarkusT1992
Event Summary First I want to say that this event was great. I played ten games I may have started much later. A few were good, a few weren't. It was great to read all your updates and write about my played games. I don't know if I would join again but I tend to yes. I'll rank the played games here although it's not easy to do. In fact I like every game except for Hardware: Rivals. 1. Deadpool It's a really crazy game and I like crazy games. I'ts also the first game I played after the event. 2. Tales of Zestiria A JRPG where I had very much fun playing it. Especially the battle system is interesting 3. Wolfenstein: The New Order A genre I normaly don't play, or at least very little. But I liked the story of this game and am defenitley playing this game more. 4. Tropico 5 A game where you are the dictator of your only island. A bit confusing at first but you get used to it. 5. Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris A twin stick action game where you have to lift the curse on you by restoring the power of Osiris. Also the only game I completed 100%. 6. Until Dawn A teeny horror game where everyone can die. Interesting story but forgetful characters. The only game where I didn't get a trophy 7. Wild Arms 3 An old PS2 RPG where you see the age. The story is also interesting but the controls are weird. 8. Nom Nom Galaxy A game where you have to make soup and deliver it to your customers. I had more fun with the challane mode though. 9. Tearaway Unfolded A 3D platformer where you have to deliver a message with some unique features due to the PS4's controler. 10. Hardware: Rivals A twin stick batlle arena shooter thing with cars. The only game in this event I didn't really like and the only who let me rage. Here's my statistics for the event. Start of the event: Games Played: 75 Completion: 39,75% Unearned Trophies: 1717 End of the Event: Games Played: 86 (I accidently startet NBA 2K16 because I hit instead of Options) Completion: 37,53% (-2,22% Nice number there) Unearned Trophies: 2064 Trophies earned: 103/397 (8 earned trophies are from other games) My goal now is to get under 2000 unearned trophies again so I won't start any unstarted game in the next time.

Popular Post MStalker58
Final Overview: Trophies Earned: 121 / 431 Starting Completion Percentage: 88.72% Ending Completion Percentage: 83.92% Completion Percentage Killed: -4.8% (Did I win?) Tried coming up with different labels for my tiers to rank the games but it was harder than I thought. Best I could come up with is dividing the games based on when I would buy them such as pre-order, Day One, bargain bin, etc. It was really tough ranking some of these games but here it goes: Pre-Order Collector's Edition - (Loved every minute of these games and had me saying "Screw this event, I don't want to switch games.") 1. Demon's Souls - Was hooked from the very start. Loved the setting, tension, gameplay and oh yeah I killed a freaking dragon. Can't wait to go back to this game and eventually the sequels that are sitting in my backlog. 2. DuckTales Remastered - The only game I completed to 100% during the event and I just couldn't stop playing it. Classic platforming fun and wish there were more remasters like this. Extreme difficulty wasn't as bad as I feared. 3. Fallout 3 - I could waste countless hours just exploring the wasteland and scavenging for supplies. The combat isn't great by any means, but I loved everything else about the game. A very detailed post apocalypse world that I can't wait to return to. Day One Purchase - (Not quite the best of the best but great games and I'm looking forward to finishing them) 4. Helldivers - Great way to start off the event and was pleasantly surprised. Usually don't enjoy online games but this one got me hooked. Plus, it provided one of my favorite moments of the event: Joining a match and greeting Hemiak with a grenade to the face. 5. Mamorukun Curse! - Didn't care much for the story and the overall presentation was less than games lower on the list. However, the gameplay was fun, addictive, and challenging. I've already sneaked in a few extra sessions with this game. 6. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance - Exactly what you expect from a Platinum Games and Hideo Kojima lovechild. Total badassery mixed with ridiculous over-the-top action, some cheese, epic boss fights, and a rocking soundtrack. Those codecs though, man they could drag on forever. Bargain Bin (AKA The 7.5 Crew) - You know, those games rated between 7 and 8 by most sites. Solid games but nothing amazing 7. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - This was the hardest game to rank and I feel bad that it's this low. I really feel like I need more time with the game to give a more fair assessment since I had just learned the basics and the action was starting to pick up when it came time to switch. I do remember riding around on a giant spider though and that was cool. 8. Gran Turismo 6 - Being ranked this low is more due to the number of great games on my list and not anything wrong with GT6. Normally it would've been hard for a simulation style racing game to make the top tiers anyways, but I was also suffering racing fatigue from Grid Autosport. Still, a very polished and quality game. Perfect for when I get the urge for some racing action. 9. ICO - The definition of a mixed bag or average game for me. Like Hemiak said, it has it's flaws like the outdated graphics and controls. Also, I prefer a story in games and this has none. However, I did appreciate how relaxing and peaceful it was and that it let's the players figure things out on their own. This might be the first platinum I go for from the event since it shouldn't take too long. Flash Sale? It does have trophies, so maybe? - If I ever play this game again it's just for the trophies. 10. Echochrome - The only game I didn't enjoy from the event. Like the tier description says, the only reason I might ever play this again is for the trophies. If not for that, I probably would never touch it again. I'll give it some credit for being original and creative when it comes to puzzle designs. Just not for me and I couldn't get into the game at all. Other games played during the event: Grid Autosport (2 trophies)I really enjoyed the event and reading everyone's thoughts on their games. Got to know some fellow forum members a little better, played some great games, and had some fun. Can't ask for much more. Good luck to all of you who are trying to finish your games. You all have put several games on my radar to buy and a few to avoid. Looking back, I'm kind of surprised that I only played one extra game during the event. Guess that just means my list was so great that I didn't need any others. If there is another edition of the event in the future, I'd consider doing it again. Definitely need a break for a few months though. Now it's time to go finish up all of these games. Edited July 31, 2016 by MStalker58
Popular Post Mendant909
Finale Update Trophies earned: 208/485 Completion rate lost: 2.19% I would say that was pretty decent for a month, kind of a shame that a lot of the games I was eager to play turned out badly. I won't give tiers for the games and I'll simply rank them from best to worst. 1. Guacamelee! - A good MetroidVania game that uses the upgrades to naturally aid both in combat and platforming. Could have been great if the main character actually had some character and I'm not a fan of Internet culture being used for jokes when Mexican culture could have given it some actual uniqueness. 2. Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God - The game I was least looking forward to, but turned out to be a good surprise. A simple, coherent story of a girl that wants to save her favorite curry shop and it has twists that make sense and adds depth to the characters. It's a decent introduction to dungeon crawlers, let down by the punishment typical of the genre and the game's lackluster aesthetics. 3. One Piece: Unlimited World Red - The first One Piece game I played that actually does great service in making the characters look vibrant. Has a combat system that was better than Darksiders and Unleashed. Typical of a licensed game, the story is non-canon nonsense and it does a bad job at introducing the universe to newcomers. 4. Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel - The first chapter of this game is pretty bad, with the abundance of tutorials and limitation of what you're able to do. However, the combat is more refined than recent Tales of games, there are seeds of what the story will be about, and unlike a few recent JRPGs I'm actually interested in the main cast. 5. Dead Space: Extraction - The better of the two boring games I played this month, screw Darksiders. I'm interested in the lore of the Dead Space series but nothing of note has happened in nearly half of the game's story. Guns that don't use regular ballistics have a greater sense of impact against the necromorphs, kind of a shame the game gets dragged down with switch puzzles. 6. Mirror's Edge - The only positive things I have to say about this game is that the aesthetic is striking and that it handles the platforming well. Too bad the story does nothing great with the premise presented and that the freaking combat severely slows down the pacing. 7. Battle Princess of Arcadias - Tedious story that would rather present jokes rather than create tension, a similarity it has with Unleashed. The gameplay is unbalanced in favor of the player but that doesn't change how it feels like a cheap rip-off of a Vanillaware game. 8. Darksiders - Tries too hard to be edgy, it could have removed the few splatters of blood and been more accessible to its teenage audience. The lore is influenced by Christian mythology but it does nothing that Image Comics hasn't already done. The combat is unengaging as it doesn't have the flair to reward slicing through enemies or how War looks like a fridge but moves like he's a helium balloon. 9. Sonic Unleashed - The only good part was the tutorial and the first level. The rest of the game is a mess as it has traps that are hard to notice while going too fast or brawling levels that take forever. The story feels like it's for babies with a freaking Scrappy, an old Scrappy that talks about pickle sandwiches, and Eggman being treated like a complete joke. 10. Beyond: Two Souls - Why was the game's story scattered in that way? The game just happens to introduce new mechanics without a proper explanation, just like with its lore. The characters are terrible as most of them are flat, cardboard cutouts that aren't given any reason to care for. The game's main selling point is the story and it sucks to follow it or moving a character around for the next piece of the story that is typically unrelated to the piece you just played. Final thoughts I sure wasn't lucky with my game selection as my darkhorse picks turned out badly while the game I dreaded turned out to be good. I did enjoy reading the thoughts of others and I'll play a few of this event's games soon (Ducktales, La- Mulana, Nova-111). Shout outs to Stalker, Crimson, and Billy since they made me want to play those aforementioned games. Another shout-out to Crimson for the great discussion points we had together and I know that feeling of how Japanese games use other languages without much reason (Fairy Tail's Oracion Seis=Six Prayers in Spanish, Bleach's female Espadas with colored attacks that didn't match the attack name, or Neptunia being creative with three of the main characters having the French name for colors). It seems that everyone who participated enjoyed the majority of their games and it's good to know the positivity the event produced. Hopefully Hemiak will have an announcement of when the next one happens. Thanks everyone and I'll give a thumps up when the darn things recharge.
Popular Post MesopithecusUK
Enjoyed reading all of your updates and it's made me want to try out some of the games played (heck, I may even break the Move controller out) This has been a nice area of the forum for me to read to help me through the past few weeks. I only really managed to try out Rainbow Moon but it was a game that I enjoyed and plan on revisiting. I've not really been in the gaming mood and have kind of been rattling around the past week or so...as for the 9 games I didn't get round to, I intend on having a binge in the next few weeks (was planning maybe trying a game a day thing, but didn't want to put too much pressure on myself when I'm still not feeling 100%) Hopefully will feel more in the mood for No Man's Sky (and also Abzu in the next couple of days)
Oobedoob S Benubi
So this is the moment I finally find out there's a cap on likes... Anyways good going everybody! Completion Percentage Killed: -4.8% (Did I win?) I think winning in this event also means having updated on every single day (or the most, at least) but if I recall correctly you're one of the few who managed that as well! Here, have some virtual cake! Edited August 1, 2016 by BillyHorrible
Popular Post Hemiak
Game 10 - The Evil WithinFinal update, 3 hrs played1/72 trophies, 1%, E rank, 70.4% (-3.27%) I took a quick look at a road map for the game yesterday. Apparently it requires three full runs for the Plat. You have to beat it on survivor to unlock nightmare and Akuma modes. You also need to beat the game in under 5 hrs, and you need to do a no upgrade run. I originally started on casual and already took an upgrade or two. Since I don't want to deal with a 5 hour no upgrade survivor run O.O I decided to start over on survivor without upgrades for the first run as the guide suggests. There is ng+ and chapter select though, and collectible carry over, so I won't be bothering with a collectible guide or worrying about chapter specific trophies on my run. OK, so I start over and catch up to my initial progress in about half the time. I'm in a forest after a car crash as we were fleeing the Asylum. The other 4 people who were with me in the car are nowhere to be found. Chapter 2 is basically a tutorial area. I'm taught how to sneak kill, burn bodies with a match, use a lantern, fire a gun, disarm traps, and break boxes with my first or foot. I make my way through the forest, avoiding or killing your basic zombie analogues, picking up as much stuff as I can along the way. One thing that's immediately apparent is this guy has very small pockets. He can only hold 5 matches, two stimpacks, and only like 12 pistol rounds. I'm guessing there are upgrades for that but I'll have to do without. I find the crazy guy who was with me in the car crash, but he runs away. I chase after him to try to help him. At one point I get to see a dude who doesn't look so hot actually turn into one of the zombie guys. He starts screaming, hunches over and when he stands up he has barbed wire wrapped around his face. That's one powerful virus/parasite/voodoo curse/miasma of evil... Fun stuff. I finally reach a small town and find the Dr. from the car crash. We decide to work together to chase after Leslie (crazy dude), who ran straight through the village and out the other gate, which is now closed. >.< I'm introduced to zombies how can wield guns, and ones with bandages wrapped around their eyes. Those ones seem to have superhuman senses of smell and sneaking does shit to avoid them. I find several small statues that give me a key when broken. These keys can be used back in the safe room (mirror warp)to get extra supplies. I also pick up a bunch of green gel, which is used for upgrades.... So I guess I'm just hoarding that for now. I'm at the end of the village, and it feels like it might be boss time soon. One thing I didn't mention is that some enemies have melee weapons or torches. You can pick these up and each one is an instant kill for regular enemies, but can only be used once. There are also random traps of various kinds you can lure enemies into for free kills. Some of these are one use only and auto initiate. Others will reset given a small amount of time, and these you have to trigger manually. You can also find dead bodies laying, or hanging, around, and drop a match on them. They'll flare up and any immediate enemies will also go up in flames. Very handy if you time it right. I've found a crossbow, and I can manufacture my own bolts with spare parts. It seems like it'll be quite handy. I also found a shotgun, but I haven't used it yet. I'm really enjoying this game. It seems like Sebastian is now firmly locked in the present, with the occasional warp/hallucination? to the safe house for supplies and saving,... And eventually, upgrades. So far I've only really had to deal with basic type enemies, other than the two at the very beginning. I've died 5 times, once from the first night Stealth kill fail of chainsaw guy. Almost all the rest have been from me trying to get cute and save ammo. I've been shot in the face, had my head chopped with an axe, and twice I've been knocked down and curb stomped. I think this game is solidly in the gold rank for this event, but we'll see how the story continues to develop. So far I've only earned one trophy, for hitting a guy with a bottle and then Stealth killing him. Apparently I can use my knife for that, but normal melee attacks are just punches. Entertainment: 9/10Difficulty: 4/10Mims thoughts: No, just no. (she didn't even see the game play, just the xmb splash screen. ) Edited August 1, 2016 by Hemiak
Popular Post Hemiak
We had 8/11 articipants follow through. Popular Post Oobedoob S Benubi
And thanks to you Hemiak, for organising this event! Don't know if I called attention to this but it was my first event on here, I've joined the site in June. It seemed like a perfect way to kickstart my site membership and underline that I really do not care about trophies any more. I loved doing games this way, reviewing them and reading the reviews of other people. I've made no secret about willing to join a second time, so Hemiak be sure to PM me when you start something!
MarkusT1992
I think my backlog didn't decrease at all. I bought so many game during this event that I even might have a bigger backlog now than befor And thanks to Hemiak for starting such an event. If it wasn't for you I maybe never would have started some of the games I played especially Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris. If somebody is interested: I played some more Deadpool and only need to finish the last level for the story. Next is grinding and than a second playthrough on the hardest difficulty. Last are the challanges and that should be the first completed game after this event.
MStalker58
Just wanted to share that I went back and got the for ICO. Man, that speedrun was stressful and a pain at times. Worried I was cutting it close but I finally got it with a finishing time around 1:50. That's 2 games completed from the event, so just 8 more to go.

It was a nice idea you came up with as it was a nice way to get the motivation to finally start some of those games that dwelled in my backlog for several years. And I would say that October or November are good choices. I would say that November would be the better of those two as some might have a PS VR by then. Those people would be able to add VR-games to their list, which could be an interesting read. Edited August 3, 2016 by Crimson Idol
Oobedoob S Benubi
I would say that October or November are good choices. I would say that November would be the better of those two as some might have a PS VR by then. Those people would be able to add VR-games to their list, which could be an interesting read. Since PS VR arrives in October, I highly doubt that people would let many VR games sit in their backlog for a month, only to play them for three games and then turn to something else. On the other hand, I also think November will be the better choice because of VR because when it releases, everybody who gets it wants to game with it, not be forced to play backlog games. Also, unrelated to VR, November instead of October means a month more of PS+ to refill the backlog. Gamess which I have put on my shortlist for round 2: Furi Rebel Galaxy Tricky Towers Ultratron Doodle Collection (counting as a single game) Call Of Juarez: Bound In Blood Retro/Grade

I shouldn't reflect my own gaming habit onto others. I'm one of those typical "buy now, play later" persons so I thought this might happen to one or another in regards to PS VR. Funny to see that you already think about a list of possible games.

Well I can do that as well (hence my entry in that "don't buy anything" event), I just mean that there's so little VR games at the start that the likelihood of someone with VR already having a VR backlog is small, and even a smaller chance of that person participating in the event. Frankly, I don't even know if any of you guys are planning on getting VR... If it's been mentioned in the thread then I forgot again. I kind of have to think about possible games since I don't have that much left that I know nothing about and have not started yet... A year and a half ago I did a dive, obtaining one trophy in everything in my backlog, so many PS+ games I actually don't know anything about yet are on there as well.
