Popular Post Evertonian
Just finished this game again having maxxed it on the 360 years ago. Although it takes a bit of getting used to initially as it seems every action you take brings up some info screen, once you have got past the first hour its a very strong title I am a huge fan of the Gangster/Mafia style game genre. The original Mafia on the PC was a fantastic atmospheric game if a little clunky in places, and by finishing that game you were able to enjoy a very fine flashback when playing Mafia II. Mafia II is certainly one of the best games I have ever played and the storyline was superb. Then the original Godfather game which again I maxxed on the 360 (don't think the ps version had trophies but I might be wrong) was a genuine hidden gem. I still remember trying to find the last collectible on that for hours only to discover it was outside my main safehouse. But the game played and felt like you were back in the era and is worth adding to anyones playlist. This Godfather II game is probably the weakest of the lot as the storyline is not very deep or very long but its still excellent and the gameplay still holds up nearly 8 years after its release. If you have missed either Mafia I or II or either of these Godfather games then a quick bit of very cheap shopping on ebay will reward you with some fun times. Best of all they are all set with a level of difficulty that lets you enjoy the titles and yet still tests your basic gaming skills. And with no online trophies or achvs they can all be maxxed too When James Brown piped up during the credits last night I felt a little sad that I had now finished all of the games that had this style and genre. I am sure at some point I will buy Mafia III but for now its titles like these that make being a gamer a fine thing to be
totallycrushed
The Godfather II isn't too good. I'd go with the first one game or either Mafia 1 or 2. Mafia 1 especially because 30's formula and Django Reindhardt! Edited March 23, 2017 by totallycrushed
aimeraya
Worst sand-box game ever played.
PooPooBlast
Wow surprised to see the overall negative reception of this game. It wasn't anything special and was far awaaaay from perfect but I still liked it
Evertonian
agree ppblast its not perfect but once you get a couple of hours in and get into the swing of the game its a very fine title indeed if you stop early then you miss out on a great title
ZachBoardyHD
I really liked this game as others said it's not perfect but it's not a terrible as it's made out to be. The first is better though which I was suprised that didn't get itself a trophy list... but oh well.

I happened to play it before I got a ps4 so idk if this biases my experience. Just trying to be open minded here about others . The racket management was a nice addition and it was a cool to see mafia III doing that and expanding it a little. Waddlingdan
I think it is amazing, I wish we had a couple more games like it. I love Mafia 2’s atmosphere and The Godfather 2 is very fun with the whole gameplay style of you and your team taking over the maps. But there is nothing like spraying a place up with your tommy gun and overcoat ? Edited May 10, 2018 by Waddlingdan
Winds-of-Neptune
It is a very good game for it's time. I had to play it once for an hour and toss it on the back burner cause it i seem like a crap game. Came back a week later and after 3 hours in you will enjoy this. Also keep in mind you need a 6axis controller and not a generic controller without it, to get the platinum. For some of the execution styles. I was using Afterglow controllers which are pretty good for 35 on amazon... luckily i had a half useful 6axis around to get all the execution styles.
Poindexter2291
Late to the party, but I remember renting this back in 2010 and thinking it was really lame... and I LOVED the first Godfather game, and Scarface, both on the PS2. Thinking of getting this one though to give it a second chance and clean up the trophies.
