Levelling up?

Recommended Posts

Make sure you have the experience buffs in the training grounds and fight tainted monsters. I'm at the very beginning of chapter 7 and I'm level 52 from fighting the first 33 tainted monsters. Just go down the list in the library and take them down one by one. And if you're having trouble with one use the tactic tweaker to Max out damage boost for monster type you're fighting. And here's links if you can't find a certain area or monster.

Also another good trick to take out the tainted monsters is using Roland's attack buff then his defense down. It takes 4 magic for both but it does insane damage. I did 9k in one hit with it. Then the other party members can take advantage of the defense down.

Thanks so much. I'll try all you mentioned. I already had the experience power up set (I just let one of the settings on money since I read that there's not that much along the game to fulfill the 500k trophy), but I have to admit I really didn't go for the tainted monsters, so I'll try that. Thanks again!

Don’t worry about the money. I had both of them set up to experience the whole game, didn’t buy anything expensive, just some three-leafed soreaways throughout the game and I got those 500k easily even before the end. Some Power Pyx’s tips suck in this guide.

Something else I've been having problems is the army levelling up as well. It's getting completely frustrating because it's almost impossible to win the battles with such a low level army.

Winning the army battles, defeating some of the tainted monsters and finding some really weird objects are the things getting me away from progressing in the game.

I hate them as i love the game but feel these take you away from the game and are pointless but once you have castle level 3 you should be able to have multiple xp boosters for those skirmishes.

I hated doing the army stuff until I set my army up to have an attack up/down and defense up/down units. You use all four buffs, or even just the attack buff and you just destroy everything. I'm able to do skirmishes 20+ levels above that way.

There's also a character from Goldleaf who if you speak to in your kingdom [the lady in the Casino who wanted a lot of equipment from you, with an eyepatch] forget her name and she'll ask for an investment of 10k. It gives you the option to invest 100k. And I did that, regretted it initially but soon enough I was able to get 200k from it. So doubled my investment. It's not a quest, just a random dialog. So just plop her somewhere easy to remember and talk to her if her dialog box appears 'new' and you're good to go.

This happened post-game, not sure if it can happen earlier or not.

I've been looking for those settings but I can't find where I can set up those buffs. Is it through one of the castle buildings?

It's a units special move. (Where you hold right trigger to activate) The first few units you can get in the game have them. Two of the cats, and two of the dogs. I forget the names of the units.

Googled her name, it's Yo Ho-Ho "Goddess of Good Luck" quest. She's in the Casino. Pretty sure you can recruit her well before beating the game, but I'm not sure if the asking for money part in your kingdom happens prior to the post game or not.

Thank you will take a look also is there a best way to level up 62 to 70 or 80 just to make things a bit easier as at my level killing the end boss over and over is gonna take me forever as it ain't quick?

The best level up method for me was facing the previous story bosses through the various Cradles (Cradle of Fire, Cradle of Wisdom and so forth), which you can do if you finish chapter 9. These bosses start at lv 50, then as you keep on defeating them they get stronger, meaning more and more EXP.
This is by far the fastest and best grinding level spot, IMHO.

Are you sure you're going to the right place?
See the exact location through this picture by PowerPyx, then you have to interact with some sort of device to start the boss fight.

Is this definitely faster than grinding the end game boss? Only just turned 70 and I've done everything apart from a few skirmishes, the balls and the last dreamer door. Not sure I can take any more grinding :'(

You really only need to get to level 70 for Platinum. Could even do it lower. Just have a bunch of really good equipment. Here's a video of mine where I did the final stuff as level 70. I basically just upgraded my Kingdom a bunch and made the best equipment I could. Also I don't even have the trophy for 2,000 kills yet... One of the 4 trophies I'm missing. I basically leveled from doing all the tainted monsters as early as I could and I completed 150 quests before I actually finished the game.

I tried both methods. I first tried levelling from cradles, but it only helps for 4 fights until they become overlevelled and too slow. It's much better to grind the endgame boss, taking ~7 minutes between finishes for half a bar of exp. I grinded the endgame to lvl 77 and finished the game.

It is faster if you just want to reach a decent level to fight the lv95 boss. And like someone said above me, you can take him down easily with just a lv 70 party.
It's actually useless to keep grinding the final battle.
