Raidou Kuzunoha XIV
Welp, here goes. I know for a fact I spend most of my spare (and sometimes not so spare) money on games, so this should be interesting. I don't remember the dates I got all these games so I'll just list the months. Good chance I may have forgotten a few games I bought as well, especially any digital ones since I don't keep track of those and only really buy digital games when they're on sale. Also, I'm rounding everything up. January 2020 Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE Encore (Switch) - £38 Journey to the Savage Planet (PS4) x2 (one copy for me, one for my fiance) - £44 January Total: £82 February 2020 Darksiders Genesis (PS4) - £25 Bayonetta & Vanquish 10th Anniversary Bundle (PS4) - £27 Yakuza Remastered Collection (PS4) - £36 Rune Factory 4 Special (Switch) - £26 Two Point Hospital (Switch) - £26 Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection (PS4) - About £33 (had to import this from Amazon US because Capcom hates Europe) Sonic Generations (Xbox 360. Kicking myself now since it got announced for games with gold like 2 days after I bought this) - £13 February total: £186 March 2020 (so far) Jade Cocoon 2 (PS2) - £10 Shadow Hearts (PS2) - £35 Shadow Hearts Covenant (PS2) - £35 Shadow Hearts: From the New World (PS2) - £11 Pre-orders for this month: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX (Switch) - £41 Ori & The Will of the Wisp (Xbox One) - £23 Nioh 2 (PS4) - £43 My Hero One’s Justice 2 (PS4) - £40 Langrisser I & II (PS4) - £40 Persona 5 The Royal Collector's Edition (PS4) - £80 March Total: £358 Total this year so far: £626 Definitely expect to be spending a lot more this year. Also, dunno if it counts in the context of this thread, but I'm also getting another Nintendo Switch in March (the Animal Crossing themed one, bundled with a gross digital copy of the game), so throw another £320 on top of there if that counts (and I come to the depressing realisation I've already spent nearly £1,000 on games this year if not more). Still dunno if I'll get the PS5 at launch assuming that doesn't get delayed, still waiting for more info on it. Definitely won't likely be getting a Xbox Series X at launch since I've barely played my Xbone since I got it day one and I see the same thing happening with the Fridgebox. Will definitely eventually get one though once it has more exclusives I want for it.

Although, she is not getting out of watching a play through of Last of Us for the first time and then the 2nd when it's out. (I played through the first one 3 times on PS3). We both have time off work booked for last of us 2. There was no way I could play it without her being there to watch haha.

sealightbreeze
No offense.....but why do this at all? If you have a budget- stay within your budget. If you don't have a budget, what's it matter? I have a budget, and stay within my means. I do let myself splurge on my games though, as I am a gamer. I choose games and books over makeup, nails, clothes etc Edited March 11, 2020 by sealightbreeze

I choose games and books over makeup, nails, clothes etc I think part of the reason for people and the reason I do this is to justify my spending. I have a significant backlog so seeing my expenditure written down helps me make a more educated choice on whether I want to make the purchase or not. Game prices decrease over time so do I want to be paying for something at release if the likelihood is I’m not going to play it for a while by which time it may be reduced in price or even free on PS Plus for example. I’ve noticed my spending has decreased year on year I’ve been doing this and some games I would probably have bought at some point I’ve got for free or heavily reduced. I don’t think I’ve bought a full price game for 2 years! no offence taken by the way as there’s nothing to get offended by in your post, each to their own. When I found out The Division 2 was that price, I bought it right away. I'm not sure when I'll play it but I couldn't pass that up.
Kristycism
Something that might be interesting for people to also keep track of in this thread, is how many of the games you bought have you actually played/completed (completed by your own definition, whether that's the story portion, all trophies, or whatever else makes you deem a game "complete") during the year. Because really, if you play all the games you buy, it's been worth the money. But if they just get added to a backlog that realistically you'll never quite finish, or you play them for a few minutes then realise "I don't like this and shouldn't have bought it", then you've really just wasted your money (which, if you want to do is fine, it's your money to use as you please). I know I'm guilty of the first part, so I'm hoping if I track this as well, it'll help discourage me from buying random crap that I end up never actually playing. So far, I've only played one of the 20 games I've bought (but in my defence, it was the most expensive one) ? Just thought I'd leave this as a suggestion, for anyone like me who wants to try to be more aware of their spending.

A very good idea. ? I platinumed 6 of the games, that I bought this year: Clannad (PS3) Crash Time 4: The Syndicate Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse PDC World Championship Darts: Pro Tour SEGA Mega Drive Ultimate Collection (EU) Ski-Doo Snowmobile Challenge (EU) Edited March 21, 2020 by microsamm
