No offense, but from an economic point of view, this is kind of a "Duh!" move. I don't know why people would be surprised and/or disappointed by this.

well on the surface you would think it would be compatible consitering that its still syncs with blutooth and for the most part buttons are the same and should function as such but i guess with the different OS and the inclusion of share button and no start or select button may alter

this is not new, sony announce and conformed this a long time ago, only the PS move and navigator is the only ps3 accessory that'll works with the ps4.

I don't know why one would expect the DS3 to work, but I am almost 100% certain that all headsets WILL work with the PS4. I've been seeing it for months.

I second this. All PS3 headsets I've seen seem to be usable on PC's and possibly other consoles. The new Pulse headsets also plug into your mobile devices.
